Naxar Nugaaleed Posted February 23, 2012 honest to god am fine with either a unitary state or federated republic and do believe its idiotic to suggest a return to a unitary state after that has happened, is aminad san jirin bey ubahantahay mamul dhexe...cumar dhuule muxu yidhi "hedeynan heshineyn, was inaan kala harna, kala hawl yireysana..." burahadeer Posted February 23, 2012 unity, federalism, whateva you call it has long passed. It's for those who want more bloodshed or prove to some they can't go their way..nothing about nationalism or brotherhood. The best way is each to implement how he sees fit.People will cross, trade and intermarry each otha regardless. Somalia Posted February 23, 2012 Carafaat;792995 wrote: Somalia, Germany has a long history going back centuries of being a Confederation of Lander(countries). After the second world war, some authority was reinstated to the Bundeslander after being fully central under Hitlers third Reich. Germany is not fully Federal rather it has a central federal goverment where the central goverment still decided through the basiclaw which areas a the responsibility of the States and which of the Central goverment. Therefor it has a decntralized Central State meaning the central State decided what mandate is of States(Lander), if oil was to be found in Germany the central State would decide how it would be divided. Faarah, you say everyone should deal with its own territory. Well if that was the case then there would be no need foreign troops nor foreign marine vessels and mission in to Somalia's territory. No competing maamuls asking TFG for mandate on their own regions? Everything you described is what federalism will look like except the oil and minerals bit, so that's what's bothering you about federalism.
Carafaat Posted February 23, 2012 We agree that we need strong regional administration that handle most issue's that people are concerned with on daily basis. However this does not mean strong regions and political power, seats and funds divided based on regions, is not authomaticly called Federalism.
Carafaat Posted February 27, 2012 Federalism in the current form of Puntland cant work for it would instigate another decade of clan wars. Come with a better idea. Centralised State with strong and bigger regions that have administrative capacity and capabilities would be the best alternative. Puntland could draw these regions and framework, for that it would have to sacrafice its own(Galkacyo) as center for a central region. Anyone thaught about this thinking outside clan horizon? Qandalawi Posted February 27, 2012 ^I wonder why the secessionists always bring and talk about Galkayo when there is no dispute at all, when both communities that live there are not claiming the city from each other. What's with the secessionists and their instigation.

We dont argue for unity?? you do therefore how can you argue for unity when Galkacyo is divided between a green line, apoligies if you find it difficult to understand the concept of simple logic.. Sensei Posted February 28, 2012 If we keep this up, we will run out of options and will be left with Al-Shabaab. No one said it has to be perfect, but it seems to be working in some areas in Somalia. The rest will soon be up & running.

See the problem with Somali's is you are your own worst enemies. Federalism will not work in somalia, because it ultimately means that Mugdisho becomes shared dominion and this for the people of banadir is unexceptable. Furthermore lets be realistic, pirate-land is not really a role model, its not a democracy, its not stable as the regular killings is proof of not to mention the division into ras casyr and west puntland state and the status of galcayco still divided upon. Ask yourself, what country in the world has cities divided between a green line in one town?? The South will take another decade to stablise and fundementally with what army??? am i the only person who sees a billion holes in this....anywho good luck to you all and your federalism bulls***t Somali's walahi...funny people.

If you call being protected by burundian, ugandans, Ethiopians and kenyans, daily bombings in Mugdisho, no credible army and unelected government that has its hand held not to mention expire in a few months better then you live in sheko khatumo saxib..
