Whether he's chinese, white or somali, if you believe kidnaping fear mongoring and terrorizing innocent unarmed people for the sake of gaining monetary compensation is wrong, than you shouldn't feel too much sympathy for people who commit such acts aside from wishing that God forgive them for their sins (Ilaahey ha u naxaristee). Our somali people are some of the most backward in the world, they hear a criminal was seized or killed and they say but he was Somali and those who captured or killed him were westerners. So what? does it make him any less criminal? Countless pirates are actually released because many countries do not know what to do with them from a legal perspective and they show a lot more restraint than any thief or criminal would get amongst Somalis themselves back home. So quit the hypocracy. You kidnap other countries citizens and hold them at gunpoint they should have every right to come to their rescue and kill anyone who stands in their way as far I'm concerned and Allah knows best.

I've mixed feelings about the incident. However, criminals are criminals in my books but they deserve to have their day in court.

There's nothing to indicate the lives of the captives were at risk. Besides, the captives were the only bargaining chips the kidnappers had. Why kill your payoff?
