DAHIR AWEYS GIFT FROM GOD TO SOMALI PEOPLE

Recommended Posts

OLOL

paragon, I haven't seen it but heard from friends in DC that one of the well-know DC Somalis, Engineer Abdulkadir Arale, who used to run the 400m for the national team was one of these brothers at the Jazeera Beach. I used to go to Lido, Jazeera, Warsheikh and Sambusi beaches every week. Good old days...I was lucky to meet a business man involved in construction and in tourism. I bought a lot (40X40) around Sambusi for only $1000 and they will build it for me. They have something like a mortgage where you pay 1/3 of the cost in advance before construction is started and then as the construction progresses, you will pay another portion and when they end , you will pay the remaining portion.

I am planning to have my villa close to the beach and just eat fresh fish, camel milk, mangoes, papayas, and grape juice ...that is the life i am dreaming and hoping to bring into reality. Look at me teaching at the Universities of Mogadisu, Merka and Kismayo. I would also like to be a visiting lecturer in Hargeisa, Berbera, Las Anod and Boosaaso...you may say ..dream on boy..but give me onlt 15 years ...and that will be the case.

I think Rahima hit the nail right on the head. Kismaayo was not invaded. Abuu Mansuur put it well when he said the locals who left the city come back for it's Ramadan month.

Assalamu calaykum,

Jim, what is the secret buddy as to why you suddenly have become a big supporter of the ICU?

I respect it if it's any other reason other than as the old saying goes "the enemy of my enemy, is my friend" they chased away the warlord who chased away your warlord, they are the good guys now right?

Is that it,if not welcome aboard newbie.
:D

Horn, Arintu kawayn meelaha aad wax ka eegayso, bal kafiirso shiekh intaanad budhka laboodin. Kismayo wax, wax u tara ayey ubaahnayd, markaa saxib, Kismayo sida Muqdisho loo dhaqayo ayuunbaa ayana loola dhaqmi doonaa, wax kale ha uqaadan. Sometimes, you have to risk something important to you (assuming Barre Hiraale was a hero) in order to discover something better in its place(Kismayo, where rule of Allah prevails).

F.Y.I.I am not siding with the new folks who have found interest all of sudden when things moved away from their region, therefore, I will justify this time only the comments of my dear Lad Hornafrique.

thanks all,

Salamu calaykum and Ramadan Kariim.
*****aykuma Salaam too brother and Ramadan Kariim.

Sxb, I support the Islamic initiative wholeheartedly and I am for ruling our people n our beautiful diin. I applaud and supported what the Islamic Courts had done in Mogadishu against the warlords who declared war on Islam and I continue to support that even as I write. What happened in Kismaayo, however, is an inside story that will soon be corrected and I do not put any blame on the Islamic Courts themselves but entities who have influence in it who acted on more clannish reasons then religious reasons and who actually benefited from the Islamic Courts in that Kismaayo was invaded with its name.

Wa salam brother and remember I am always for xaq. Wadaadadaya dhib uma arko, weligey uma arkin, haantane uma arko.

Red Sea, please let the goggles of wadaadnimo go so we can get to the bottom of the barrel. Cheap shots and conditional respect ha kuu dambeysee bal dhinac isugu beydh. Last time I read your post, you were not only for the courts but also in favor of ‘Muslim’ foreign troops aiding them. You now seem very mild compared to your previous reply to Horn. What has happened since your last post that obliged a disclaimer? Are you worried the courts will come to Waqooyi Galbeed and thinking of withdrawing your support Mr. Secessionist?

You scrutinize my words to the courts and yet downplay the hate feeding threads, hostility and animosity of others? I was in support of the courts all along. Are you worthy of challenge to proof what you’re alleging? Sxb, you seem to know a little of the south. Why don’t you enlighten us how you concluded Amal Sh. Max’ed’s [the daughter of Sheikh Max'ed who is allegedly tortured by your president] comments to SL admin as unislamic?

Horn, I can’t help but agree with you there mate. I wouldn’t classify him as warlord; he’s a total wuss-lord now. Hadii aad Islaamo drug dealers ka sugeysid inay kheyr keenaan, ama kacdoon bilaabaan adigaaba fiyoobeen. Faatixa isa saar.

Faatixa inaan isa saaro waaba waxaan u baahnahay lakin I don't think I am talking out of the blue when I say majority of SOL nomads would agree that you need it more then I. :D

Mr. Red Sea is a die hard secessionist. He can not keep balancing his islamist views and his secessionism. He should make a choice; I have been stalking him for months with this. I hope that he knows that time has come and that he should come clean and choose a side, because he cannot have both.

Courageous Somali wadaads from the North are putting their lives on the line; they are being tortured for their political views. Mr. Red Sea does not even have to risk torture; he can make the choice out of his free will without the fear of persecution. Mr. Red Sea be courageous make a choice.

Mr. Red Sea has every right; too bad we can't say that for Sheikh Max'ed Sheikh Ismaciil.

Mr. Red Sea should just come clean, he has been trying to represent both camps long enough, but soon he will have to make a choice, he can not preach Islamism on one hand and then on the other hand support clannism. He should choose one, because the two are conflicting.

Well...I have a different take on the interview -

From what i read of the Article - it sounds to me the shiekh is sending a message to the goverment to surrender or be ready for a war smile.gif

Probabilistically, your point is part of the equation but its strength and likelihood has less favorability

Was it a secret that the courts were established along tribal lines to deal with their moryaan? What’s this ‘I knew it’ like it’s a bloody discovery. There is nothing wrong with establishing an entity so as to do well for your tribe (PL and SL are both just that), especially in Somalia where as I see it only every tribe can deal with it’s respective problems and then can we unite as is the plan of the courts obviously. Now that they have expanded, they need to move on from the tribal structure which was undoubtedly necessary in Mogadishu. As long as one works for khayr there is nothing wrong with division among tribal lines, even Rasuallah s.a.w at his time would divide his army at times along tribal lines. Big difference between tribalism and dividing along tribal lines for the good.

I'm glad you are one of the few in support of the ICU to recognize this clan basis of it. That is why it is really important when they set out to spread their stated Islamic agenda - they do so peacefully and through consultation and negotiation. Otherwise - it begins to look like a clan driven expansion of territory and power.

HA,

Brother, with respect to the people of Kismaayo supporting the take over, you and I will never agree. You say that they don’t, others many reer kismaayo themselves say they do. This is just like Southern Mudug, people will argue till they are blue that the people don’t support the courts and others say otherwise- each is driven by a different incentive. What however I fail to comprehend and really find extremely surprising is that you (an individual I respect) would jump off the wagon so easily and to make it even worse my brother be writing like some people that we all know are questionable. I can go into detail here, but I have too much respect for you to do so and hope that a disagreement doesn’t tilt you to the other side.

I am more than sure that the courts would of have given Mr. Hiraale a chance to come on board, he made his choice. He took over Kismaayo by force brother, right or wrong is irrelevant right now, but he had a choice to join the movement. My support for the courts will not wain so long as they continue on their path of good, they have achieved feats brother that no other entity, warlord or leader (including Mr Hiraale) have been able to. I admire Xassan Dahir and I find it surprising that you belittle him the way you do- the above interview is a testament to the nature of the man. Like I said, I find it hard to accept that you’ve adopted such a view; at the end of the day they are serving the people on the principles of Islam. They are not perfect by any measure, but they are doing the best we have seen, on that they should have our support regardless of whether or not we think one man and his leadership were wronged. Qaybdiid let me remind you was once upon a time a staunch supporter of the courts, especially as with regards to the establishment of a court for his sub-sub-clan. He had a choice to join the good efforts of the courts, but when he realised that he would no longer hold the power (negative mind you) that he held, he chose to oppose. Cusmaan Caato on the other hand is no angel but at least he chose to mind his own business. Many will argue that both (Qaybdiid and Hiraale) are selfish and think only of themselves and their leadership instead of the general good- I am one of those people. I don’t know anything of Hiraale, but one thing is clear, he obviously refused to join the movement and instead chose to further his own agenda instead of the agenda on the country and populace.

To end it HA, ponder why all the major Somali scholars from Umal, Cumar Farooq, Shariif Cabdinuur, Cukaash to Mustafa support the courts. If they were so wrong as you seem to think, why would they? Men like Umal who has met with these men, who has been to Xamar know the situation better than people like you and I who have no access really other than the internet and the views of people we all know are driven by questionable incentives. The fact the scholars support them says a lot. That is my opinion.
