Advice for Siilaanyo a-Soomaali.

Waari mayside war hakaa haro

Sit it out. Wait till Riyaale admin runs out of tricks. Don’t play into Riyaale admin’s deliberate provocations. Six months will come soon, before you even know it. Somaliland is a peaceful region. It’s not a democracy. It knows nothing about democratic processes. The ploy to utilize latest voter registration machines in Somaliland of all places was just a trick to introduce an error prone process in order to justify election postponement.

Learn from your prior mistakes. We are counting you to deflate the secessionism hype. You have got to be equal to the challenge before you. It’s Waraabe’s function to rabble rouse and appeal to the lowest denominator in that region. Yours is transforming it. It’s Riyaale and his political allies task to feign crisis, political and security, in order to hold onto a feeble power. Yours is exacting far reaching political realignment and lasting peace.

Know who you are. You are Siilaanyo a-Soomaali.

What an insulting thing to say. If I was Siilaanyo, I would respond with am I your whipping boy or, in more crude parlance, your donkey?

Somaliland has peace, relative security and prosperity, a system that works for them however flawed, and respect and cordiality. Even now Riyaale's extension was democratic. Yes flawed but nonetheless democratic.

What is going on in Somaliland is no different then Yeey's tenure in Puntland, except none of the Somaliland leadership have yet to resort to arms as Yeey done against Jaamac Cali Jaamac.

Gaal dil gartiisana sii baa la yiri. Your tone is very biased and insulting when it comes to recognizing the positive reality of Puntland's neighbor to the west and it is unfortunate.

Reading between the lines it is very easy to notice your encouragement of Somaliland's break down of law and order, as deduced from equating it to "deflating secessionist hype".

Clearly Xiinfaniin deserves a huge gratitude from diehard SL-ers in my view since he was so generous to them, but what did he get for return, I question?, cantarabaqash iga "dheh'. XF praised them for the sort of semblance of governance implemented in that part of the country, indeed he was right as it is all relevant and as was once said: one-eyed man among the blind is their king, as Somalia descended into chaos with the exception of closely catching up autonomous state of Puntland, SL has proved to be like the one-eyed man among the blind. However, what Xiinfaniin failed to expose is that SL is the only administration in Somali peninsula that promotes clan hegemony to the highest level, and as I write this it made some parts of the north like the Suweto of Somalia, Las Anod being the case.

That been said, SL-ers have the right to exercise their form of democracy as they see fit but the course that they have adopted thus far exhibits that they are approaching/experien cing its detrimental effects by the day.

Had they concentrated what matters them most: For instance, had they strengthened their government institutions, made their administration deliberations more transparent, minimized the corruption, not occupied others' territories and in the meantime redirect that resource where needed most like education and health. SL would have been a model of other region that are in self-search, unfortunately this kind of dream is diminishing gradually.

I know this will fall into deaf ears but putting it out is much worth than keeping it.

As far as Riyaale's power manipulation is concerned. I concur with Xiin, six months isn't that much of a time, let him run out of tricks as XF eloquently put it.

Xiin,

What you failed to understand is the simple fact that both Siilaanyo and Rayaale have the best in heart for Somaliland. Both men are committed to Somaliland's advancement and its right to becoming part of the family of nations.

Having said that, the current issues regarding the postponement of the elections to a later date was not Daahir Rayaale's fault. Daahir Rayaale has said it repeatedly that he wished the elections to be held on time but that wouldn't be possible according to the Commisioners who oversea the process.

And speaking of tricks, I do believe that it was Kulmiye this time round that was trying to pull a rabbit out of the hat. :D But to a Puntlander like yourself, what would you know? Adiga ninkii Laascaanood ka xoogay ayaa kuu muuqda. icon_razz.gificon_razz.gif:D

All is good as far as Somaliland is concerned. And the 6 months time frame is not that far so long the process to holding a fair, free and transparent elections continues in the right direction.

When the caravan ran out of gas, when there is nothing to talk about in that part of the world, when there is nothing to report from your "own" tuulo, when all your options failed and the road is closed in your face and you are dead bored then ,,,,

then ....

then ...

TALK ABOUT SOMALILAND :D

The peace caravan has succeeded. It produced President Sharif. It was a success. But much remains to be done.

Somaliland is in the news. Talking about it does not mean hating it, people. Midda kale, waxaan idin weydiiyey ragga go ayyow, do you deny the current issues? Or you just didn't like the fact your elder brothers are talking about it?

We think Siilaanyo has a potential to change things down there. There is a reason why this election gets delayed, delayed and delayed. We advise him to persevere.

edit: MM

Awoowe everything needs an element of fairness. Siilaanyo has matured politically from his SNM days, and the subsequent passivity he dwelled in the turbulent Egal days. I can distinguesh a lamp from the silent lion.

The issue of LA is however a notch higher than SL's internal politics. We will discuss a way out for the aspirant Darwiishs and examine lessons learned from the peril of dual allegiances.

But here in this thread I was boosting Kulmiye’s morale, showing them the world has not ended with yesterday’s political verdict, which was indeed in favor of current admin.

First, agreed Silaanyo greater than Riyaale in so many ways and secondly waan garawsaday, Dervishes certainly are learning in the hard way, their "dual allegience" has reached its maturity and they are harvesting it. However, I was merely tempting to bring to the surface the hollowness of arguments laid out by our chaps, and the falsehood of heavily invested propaganda machine that underestimates the tension and friction among northern communities.
