Jendayi Frazer discloses what was discussed in Washington

Recommended Posts

Somaliland National TV reporter Moha Dahir and her crew who are part of a select media group officially granted access to cover the AU Meeting in Addis Abeba, had a breif interview with Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Jendayi Frazer

This is what Jendayi said:

Somali: “Annaga ayaa taageeraynay in Midowga Afrika u diro wefti culus oo qiimayn ku sameeya wada hadalna la yeesha shacbiga iyo dawladda Somaliland, annaga ayaana taas dhiiri gelinayna Midowga Afrikana ku duduucayna inay Somaliland u diraan wefti."

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

ALA nafta...

Somali waan ka faana... naag xuno madax yuul leh ... waan bari haya walle waa ayaan daro iyo aqli xumu is biirsatay.

War wax iskula hara.

Sidaan isu dhaama... your better then this. If the world wanted to recognize somaliland which I hope they do.. they would have done it long long time ago.

Instead they are working towards getting the horn of Africa under one firm grip and preferably with one hand and that hand looks likely to be Ethiopia which then you’d suppose, they don’t want to make a mess of their plans by acknowledging a new country and then making a new job for them self which means the will need to get two hands stuck in as they’d be dealing with two Somali government and possible al Qaeda threat.

Nagata Jendayi Frazer waxii wanaag ka tabanaayo oo dhan.. anagu wax ilaahay nooguma daro.

AAmin dheh.

Haddii wafti culus SL loodirayo, maxaa ku jaban. Wufuud meelkasta oo Somalia ayey tagaan. The only reason is to find solution for the problems of Somalia. Unfortunately, the Somalis do not care about their country or their people.

Peace Action,

True, Wufuud meel kasta oo Soomaaliya waa tagtaa, laakin kan Somaliland u qorshaysan waa mid lagaga hadlaayo arinta Somaliland iyo membership ay AU ka hesho.

Somaliland officially applied for membership to the AU in 2006 and this is part of that "process" which the US State Department was refering to. This latest development is to "fast track" that process and hopefully reach a conclusion by end of 2008.

The Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Dr. Jendayi Frazer reportedly gave a brief interview to the Somaliland National Television in which she indicated that the United States would like to see an African Union delegation to Somaliland for direct talks with both the government and the people of Somaliland.

Speaking to reporter Musa Dahir Farah in Addis Ababa, whilst attending the African Union summit, Dr.Frazer reportedly stated "The United States supports a proposal to send a senior delegation from the African Union to measure the public opinion in Somaliland and to ascertain the current situation in the country".

When questioned on the support for such a delegation,

Dr.Frazer reportedly remarked "The United States is encouraging the African Union commission, through its Chairman, Mr. Alpha Omar Kanore, before the expiry of his term, to send a mission to Somaliland, and I have also raised the issue with other African heads of state"

Dr. Frazer has on many occasions stated that the United States will follow the lead of the African Union in terms of the Somaliland issue, but, these recently reported comments can be perceived as call for the African Union to make headway on the Somaliland issue.

In 2005, the African Union sent a delegation to Somaliland which reported that the issue of Somaliland's independence and international recognition merit a more comprehensive appraisal by the commission and its members.

Dr.Frazer's reported comments come after a visit in January to the United States by President Dahir Rayale Kahin.

Jenday Frazer and her cohorts are the biggest supporter and financers of the occupation in Somalia, Zenawi and the T.F.G. You see the problem when Somaliland supporters go on about being against occupation and bombard us with grand visits of Riyaale to Adiss and Washington to meet Frazer/Zenawi?

Yes i'm a Somalilander and i'm against the occupation in Somalia. Yet as a country there is nothing can stop me meeting with them and discuss our national interest.

Well put JB,

GJ,

You are confusing things. Somaliland is against the occupation of Somalia by Ethiopia, but that is a completely seperate issue with its search for recognition of its indepedence by the AU. Somaliland will discuss its national interests with members of the AU.

Ironically that is the same line used by 'wadada' lacagta iyo dahabka ka aruursda haweenka Masajiidyada barashada Quranka uso raadsada. I never expected it will be a notion used by a 'Datoore' who will look at things analytically.

'Naagta xuunoo madaxa yuulka leh' is a decission making official from a strong and powerful nation. Teda kale please bring a halt to this melodramic 'america hates our religion and existance' - you are extremely over rating yourselves. There is a major problem that involves you and on you - attempt to approach that in a manner that best suits you without blaming others for your shrt comngs.

JB is correct, as a Somali lander you can be against the occupation, but the above quote is wrong. You're government is not against the occupation and even though they have nothing to do with it, they still don't speak against it.

Daahir Riyaale si cad ayuu uga hadlay ciidamada shisheeye markii la hadal hayay. He said it load and clear "Somalia caqli ayay u baahantahay ee ciidan uma baahna"

It is a very clear diplomatic position.
