Djibouti Recognises Kosovo

Pristina | 12 May 2010 | Petrit Collaku

Kosovo Foreign Minister Skender Hyseni has confirmed that the Republic of Djibouti has recognised Kosovo’s independence.

Djibouti’s embassy in France sent a diplomatic note to Kosovo’s embassy in France with the message that "the Republic of Djibouti has taken the decision to recognise Kosovo’s independence".

Hyseni thanked Djibuouti Foreign Minister Mahmud All Youssouf and expressed Kosovo’s readiness to establish diplomatic relations between the countries.

Djibouti is a country in the Horn of Africa, bordered by Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Somalia. It has some 800,000 inhabitants. Djibouti gained independence from France in 1977.

Djibouti is the 68th country to recognise Kosovo.

^^^lool. The US recognised Kosovo, so did the EU, stop comparing a real country, Kosovo to the Somali NW region.

Well dont to Djibouti for recognising their Muslim sister nation of Kosovo. :D

this is breach of Serbias sovereignty.

Djibouti is also desperately poor a bit like the rest of the Horn. Djibouti has a chance to grow and prosper, where unlike their neighbours their not held down by war. They should make the most of it, their gdp growth yearly was only around 3% much of the 90s like war torn Somalia. Only recently did they put in 5% growth.

Ngone, if i was the president of somaliland i would have cutten any close ties with djibouti the former desert colony who only survives with the port and being a modern-day colony of france still this day not to mention i would have builded a big port in zeylac - somaliland to collapse the economy next door in djibouti city and sabotage them if that is how they want to play the mind games.

It doesn't need to be invaded at the moment but it will collapse sooner then you think either that or eritrea will eliminate the desert or somaliland will. :D

I agree that it behaves like a dead colony but dont you stop and think before making such an ironic statement about your own situation; that the pseudo state you whos seccionsist agenda you embrace bases its whole partitioning and vigorous conquests from Somalia on a century meaningless colony; and constantly tries to appease them by making outrageous statements for the queen and desperation to join the commonwealth.

The pathetic thing they did was sign a defence treaty with France, we couldnt invade and annex back then and Somaliweyn died along with NEP in Kenya in those regions.
