Profile: Somalia's Islamic 'lads'

Resistance for the sober secessionists and Anarchists? Saxibyaal, your time to discredit any national effort that would revive the Somali state has come to a big Halt and no amount of hideous remarks you write on these boards would loose the brakes. There will be no political reconciliation until all the impediments to the revival of Somali State are removed. We just need a low-level of reconciliation to garner more support for the TFG. Any other reconciliation effort above the already-failed 15th reconciliation processes would be futile as well.

This path taken by the Machiavellian President Yusuf leads to the best route to returning Somalia's powerful central authority that would work with our neighboring countries besides conforming to what America wants and that is not steering our dependence from her trade and foreign policies in the Horn.

We don't need the return of the culpable, the roundly hated Arabists and the brainwashed extremists who are conditioned to hate their own culture and African identity.

"Abu something" lol

Adeer we can agree on one thing that there will be no negotiation (as long as Ethiopian forces have there tanks in our country.

The tough guy image Yey tries to potray whilst being protected by Ethiopian tanks in his homeland is not fooling anyone. In just over a year the mandate of this TFG will end, how on earth can you tackle a national opposition when you could not do it in the last 1 ½ years, so spare us the macho talk.

Nobody is against our neighbour they have lived side buy side with us for over thousands of years. However they have breached our sovereignty and until they return they are at war with us. A government that flies every month to Ethiopia to be briefed does not represent Somalia but the goals of Addis. You do not see Museveni, Kibaki, Bashir or Afewerki flying to Addis to be told what to do. I repeat there will be no peace with Ethiopia until they respect the Somali sovereignty.

Its simple saxiib not brain surgery Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia are in conflict because of illegal occupations and rest assured the locals always win

What is to be done with Al-Shabaab and their warlords even if Ethiopia withdraws ?

Do you think they will even spare the AU troops or possible deployment of U.N peacekeeping forces?

What you want like many others who hold the same views as yours is to take us to the Hobbesian Jungle -a situation ripe for the radicalication of our people and the defacement of our Somali history and tradition.

Koora-Tuunshe, Favourable conditions on the ground will force extremist ideas to take a back seat when/if the Xabashis withdraw. Eliminate the excuse and there is no potency in opposition. A/Y goes, Maxamed Dheere goes, TFG remains in place by name, Nur Cadde meets opposition, Al-shabab included and invited, there will be improvements and some good changes.

The reason A/Y must go is because he is Anti-peace and doesn't qualify or act as a statesman. As he always has been, he will never make a compromise and thinks in terms of clan x vs clan y, he belongs to the tea houses iyo biibitooyinka where old men like him discuss qabiil and play cards. A/Y is very unsophisticated jaahil dhaga xiran. Maxamed Dheere is a criminal who turned the TFG into a clan organization. Like Gheedi, he needs to step down. Nuur Cade alone should be left to keep the TFG alive. Al-shabab will not go against the wishes of the majority when Ethiopia is not involved and warlords are forced to step down.

What do you think saxib? :D

Xoogsade, your hatred for the president clouds your fair judgement of the situation. Hopefully, it will fade away as the TFG makes more progress towards peace and reconciliation.

If you mean clan hatred, you are wrong saxib. I am on record in SOL supporting the objective for which the TFG was created. I am also on record advising others to give A/Y the benefit of the doubt on the eve of his selection out of the pool of warlords. I opposed him when he announced his request for Ethiopian troops to come to Muqdisho. I knew this would be the result. He undermined himself and the future of the country by mistrusting the people and at the same time heavily invest in controversial troop deployment everybody knew would be trouble. People thought he was going to work for the public good by leaving his past and abandoning the clan elder mentality. He made promises to repent from 30 year warfare and subterfuge underiming the somali state. He failed in all expectations. Under his watch, million people if not more were displaced while thousands died with good number of them still living under the shades on the verge of starvation. He oversees total failure.

So, again, going beyond narrow clan support and looking into future, can you state objectively why you think a man with such failures on his record should be left in position? Why hold the future of Somalia hostage for a failed man? You claim you are for reconciliation but ignore the basic fundamentals of reconciliation which is to remove all obstacles to peace, obstacles like A/Y himself who came out against every initiative of peace.

Somalia is more important than A/Y and I think replacement can be found from his clansmen if we keep the 4.5 clan bs foisted upon somalis by the warlords in place. I am for appeasing A/Y's clansmen who would be offended if the man was removed. That could work. Let us not give the man a license to kill and hold us hostage.

You are talented saxib, so write your ideas setting clan sentiments aside :D

A/Y adeerkay waaye therefore he must rule dowladnimo laguma helaayo, you need to be flexible. We need changes where necessary, Geeddi was booted out for incompetence, opposing the peace and robbing allegedly the donated money, so can A/Y be shown the door for equally sinful charges? this could move things and has the potential to prevent prolonged violence no one wants to see continue. What do you think?
