An estimated 3,000 Americans have answered Ukraine's call for foreign volunteers to fight Russia's invasion, a representative from the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington DC told the Voice of America news service.

Western nations are not sending troops to fight on the ground in Ukraine, but have been delivering arms to Ukraine to help in the country's fight.

They have also brought in punishing economic sanctions against Russia and Russian oligarchs and leaders.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other senior Ukrainian officials have called for the formation of an "international legion" of foreign volunteers to help fight the war.

A few days ago, Zelensky estimated about 16,000 foreigners had volunteered to help fight in Ukraine.

These people are doing the Russians are a lot of favor

It seems this Ukraine nation is some kind of special. Too bad if things keep going the way they are, Ukraine will be destroyed. THe current leader must quit, appoint a care taker government to negotiate with Putin. If your country is invaded, the aggresor is the main culprit, but as a leader, you have certain responsibility to save your country from eventual destruction.

The Russians are taking their time. They are moving from north, east and  south east taking already  most of Ukraines sea access, nuclear reactors, airports and military bases. I was thinking about a long insurgency aided by the west, but Ukraine doesn't have the Afghanistan mountaines or Veitnamese jungle. This western idea of fighting Russia to the last Ukrainian is going to be the total destruction of that country.

After the end of this war couple of things could happen. War usually changes things. Before the second world war, there were only less than 60 independent nation states instead of today's over 200. For one, both Ukraine and Russia will not be the same, and Europe too could change. Or a new economic system might emerge from this war connecting Russia to central Asia, China and beyond. As usual the Chinese keep abstaining from security council vote, just like they did during the Iraq war.

The problem is Ukraine leadership still didn't get they were pawn and paying the prize.

They should have stayed neutral.
