Back Home

Back home......

A place so far away in time and reach

it seems like a fairytale, a dream even

or something fantastic an pastoralist

Teacher would teach

The sun is setting behind the trees

The grazing animals have returned

As the wind turns into a gently caressing breeze

The sky darkens from a clear blue to a murky gray

The rain will soon come down

And I struggle to find my way

Badly needed by the savannah and the town

The animals and I make our path to my hut

I lock them in a pen

And close the gates and doors shut

First in droplets than by pails

The rain falls on the desert grounds

A blessing for the crops, and in turn for

the Cattle, sheep, camels and hounds

Finally the rainy season has come

Fast Forward now to a few months

And all will be cheerfully complaining

the restoration of the hot and scorching sun

I sit in class and dream

Of what it would be like if I was back home

Would it be as wonderful as I make it seem?

Lost in the meadows

Lost in the fields

Lost in the woods

Lost in the ever changing breeze

A winding road that's a oneway street

Is all the directions I have for now

Is that a cross road where fates meet?

No, my eyes are playing tricks on me

Lost in a valley with towering metal

I was once blind, but now I see

Mountains and trees of gray looking dismal

Lost in gray and ugly meadows

Lost in fields full of syringes, broken glass bottles and junk

Lost in rich and crumbeling ghettos

Lost in between yesterday homes and future houses

Where am I again? oh yeah

Lost in a disgusting population of mice and louse

Walking through a field of paved roads

Nary a flower or leaf falls

Slowly poisoned with pesticides, diseases and whatever other scape goats

And the sky is blanketed with a smoggy and polluted shawl

Wow what a place to start a life

Dosen't it seem ideal for all

Or is it just full of strife?

lol sweet gal I think you've startd a great topic and well done to Pixie for her contributions...I really enjoyed the first poem....well here is my attempted...the title was kinda difficult lol

A Symphony in Green

Near a spring, in a meadow of green

a girl sits alone with her memories,

as the white organdy dress floats in the breeze

and the sweet perfume of orange blossoms

mingle around her like honeysuckle’s

in the wind.

Softly her long brown hair blows in the wind,

distracting her with thoughts of a love

she longs deeply for in all her dreams.

Sounds like music of a great symphony

play across her mind as she

holds her book tightly to her breast,

sighing as sweet thoughts drift to

her love who flies around the world

and fights a war.

She wonders if he thinks of her in times of rest.

Will their love stand times test?

Will memories branded in meadows of green

on a warm summers eve

become a misty memory?

She'll return to this place on a hill

listening for his voice in the wind

longing to touch his lips again,

tenderly praying,

God once more,

let love be.

perhaps he made it inconceivable

resin rabble invisible

they stand trees miracle figure

pale arose at once

wrinkled nodding the dish briskless

of fear he incompletely returned this

choice in light luminous came oblivion

tickling with ear gently he left long ago

look clouds pushing hard

the truth damnation riding by compassion

unbelievably she buzzed full

wet hair overlook thrifty

most important dog seat finally parasite's

to match the shining priests

tiring mounds pulled the livid of young

knife's red hair leaving dew

ominous brains rotted derelict

sensible wife circulate under foot

I understood thimble passing of questions

drop the jaw surprise

cathedral pumpkin window grin

time with holes inside parents

salvation openly jagged body

nobody's dream phantom walked lazy pulling catacomb

inside underworld can you equal

I think feeling dangerous relief

door in awhile destiny to overgrow ash frightening whisper

Run my friend! Run!!

Forget everything,

Your shoes, your money, your house and car,

Just run!

Start here, turn right and go straight,

Until you come to the end,

Where you’ll meet your fate.

Don’t stop for money lying on the ground my friend..

Don’t stop for beautiful women,

Don’t stop for new, sleek cars,

Don’t stop for anything,

Just run.

As fast as your legs can take you.

But don’t forget your salat on this run my friend.

And don’t forget to fast.

Don’t forget to stop at Mecca on your way.

And don’t forget Allah.

Read the Quran while your walking my friend,

And remember all of your blessings while you run.

Help the fallen stand up my friend,

And when you reach the end,

You will know if you ran fast enough or

If you walked too slow.///

Believe me. You will know.///

Your path

A street leading you wrong or right

Somewhere to follow the path from day to night

Will you take the paved road? or winding trail?

Many circumstances will come when you can neither win nor fail

Your path

When you walk for a few days

Then come upon a split with two roads

Which one do you take? The one that looks ideal to the eye or the one thats an infested swamp with snakes and toads

Your path

How long will you rest? How long will you wait?

Will you sit by the road then fall asleep?

Are you hurrying now to catch up with your fate?

Your path

You travel where you need to go

Life's journeys sending you to new highs

And lows

You stop for a rest here or there

meeting other journeyers and their stories

they are willing to share

Your path

The clocks will tick clockwise than counter clock wise

You will think you are still young,

But you will be old

Its one of the mysteries we can never

unwravel or unfold

Your path

A will thats chosen? or an intricate design drawn out like math?

Does it have a beginning or an end?

When your weary of traveling will your broken heart, dreams and tired feet mend?

Drifting, walking, ambling, running,

moseying, darting, and wandering

down your path

To

Your destination

The tired traveller has grown young and then old

Their familiar story I have once again told

Well its been nice now, but its over

When your dead upon life you can't hover

You are now where you were headed throughout your travelling

Rest now get some sleep

Your loved ones for you moan, cry and weep

While you fall deeper and deeper into eternal sleep

nice game, sweet-gal...thanks for bringing it to our attention...me myself I'd LOVE to make an anthology of my poems...hopefully some day

"A Smile"

A smile you threw my way

When I met you on that fateful day

I couldn't believe the sparkle that seemed to shine

Right then I knew, I wanted you to be mine

A smile you gave unto me

Your love you showed so freely

When you said "I love you" I cried

When you said "Goodbye" I died

All because of another...yes "A smile"

He said "come in, only for a while"

A while lasted longer, I didn't see it didn't feel right

When I spend with another, what was supposed to be our night

My tears dried when you said "Its over"

You left with "A smile", and I had no cover

For the pain that hurts me even to this day

Yet I know, I myself threw it all away...

good topic sweet-gal i'll try my best insha allaah

The chase

I won't chase you anymore

I'm tired and worn out

You've gotten the best of me

You have your way everytime

I can't ever get a word in

Cuz you never have time to listen

Always on the run

You don't take any breaks

Running around in circles like a chicken with no head

When I see you in one place

All I can do is laugh

It's about time for you to realize

I'm the one you need

But you won't ever do that

Cuz your always at a high pace

Move around, jump up and down

Touch your toes and wiggle your nose

I won't be there to applaude you

And when you decide to want me

I just might be there

.

smile.gif I don't know what u make of it I thought it started of good now I don't know I'll let you judge for your selves

The Jewel of Islam

Pure neat and wonderful a creature

Soil with oil beautiful are ways

Handsome lovely profound a day

Awesome great blessed for eternal he was

A jewel a piece we cannot evaluate in terms

A journey a pasture come to our needs

A time an hour when darkness was blindfold

A jewel a star shined upon Arabia

A legend a religion they argued at times

Two peoples three people fallowed a guide

A light a stare it flaunted not around

In secret strengthening a tawhid by followers come to pass

If jewel if better one cannot disclose Islam

A religion of prospect came to last our lives

Allah the creator the giver of will coasted a tell into our eyes

Alerting and setting standards by time

Raised us a man amongst our selves

Purified a cause was given until his end

Prepared a life forever he was granted

A creation solely for this purpose

Solid a kind soul God gave him a heart

Touched and moved zillion of people

Muhammad a prophet (saw) brought fort a source

ponderous a shine Islam he concluded by the will of Allah
