Some windows short cuts and tricks

Recommended Posts

WK=Windows Key

WK + E = Open windows explorer

WK + R = Open the RUN dialog box

WK + F = File and folder search dialog box

(U can also search by pressing F3 to search the currently selected folder in windows explorer)

WK + M = Minimize all open windows

(u can also hold down the shift key while you click the X in a window to close all the windows which preceeded it.)

WK + SHIFT + M = Resize windows to previous state after WK+M

-Some OS's can take a picture of the currently active dialog box by pressing CTRL+ALT+Print Screen

To Modify your internet expolerer or any other windows software

windows key + R.

Run

regedit

cmd

which are the ones i use most...

by the way. For all those XP users out there...

WK + R

type in regedit

search in HKEY_Current_User

expand Software

expand Microsoft

expand Internet Explorer

click on Main

search through the right frame until you find something that should say Window Title. Right click on it and click Modify, and change this to whatever you want.

If done right you should have changed IE's Window Title, instead of Microsoft Internet Explorer it should say whatever you put

Conspiracy...that's very cool. I hope I can remember all those keys though. It took me a while to figure out the WK...lol. I got as far as the WK+SHIFT+M (neat!)...beyond that, I'm lost.

Tip for your eyes below:-

This is not actually a hardware tip, just to let you know how important it is to blink your eyes. Your eyes don't actually get strained staring at the monitor, just loses moisture and making the eyes dry. It has been proven that people staring at the monitor for a long time has the tendency to blink less than the normal rate. Make an effort to blink your eyes. If not, try eye moisture drops

(countdown 60sec to stop your pc, 3600 for 1h).

Run winver to know your version.

CTRL+F with keyword, very useful to highlight something on active page, when dont want to read or overfly.

ALT+F4 evrybody knows it( to close active window). CTRL+Z or Y to undo action.
