Somaliland region "administration" told to work with federal Gov by Ethio PM

Recommended Posts

"Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed received at his office today the President of the Somaliland Administration H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi and his delegation. The two parties discussed and agreed on a number of key points including strengthening their people to people relations; ensuring the wellbeing of Ethiopians in Somaliland and working in unison on matters of peace and security. H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi acknowledged the strides being made by Prime Minister Abiy towards regional integration and accepted the Prime Minister’s call to further strengthen the close working relationship between the Somaliland Administration and Federal Government of Somalia. Relatedly, agreements have been made to undertake one-to-one and bilateral discussions in the future. In concluding their discussions, the two parties also discussed on ports utilization and other economic ties."

This is humiliating for all Somalis.

Well secessionists see Ethiopians as their Gods. So expect them to work more with the federal government.

lol

The reality on the ground is the opposite of what you stated here.

There is a political earthquake in Ethiopia and Abiy cannot move fast enough to fix the shenanigan of last year  with Djibouti, Somaliland and Puntland.

Abiy is fast dumping all that face book and coffee time with Afwerki and Farmaajo. I would hate to be Farmaajo right now. He has nothing to do with it, but change in Ethiopia is going to make him again change direction.

Saalax Badbaado is having diarrhoea today.

Somalidu waa caqli lix saac, wixii ay shalay ku quraacdeen maanta hadii la waydiiyo ma garankaraan.

We all remember how Cheeseman sold himself and his country's ports so cheap. On the first visit to Mogadishu, Prime Minister Abiye signed agreement with Cheeseman regarding the selling of 4 ports to Ethiopia and God knows what else.

Cheeseman setting himself as a trusted pet dog thought the Ethiopian will go through him for everything and he will make it easier for the Ethiopians to get what they want. In return, he asked Ethiopia to cut ties with all the regional authorities including Somaliland.

If I were Cheeseman, I would be trying to get my 'refunds'. :D:D

Somaliland will safeguard its interests, that is the bottom line.

He might have tried, but if that is the understanding by Somalilanders, you have it all wrong.

Puntland and Djibouti can never be friends with Eritrea, no matter what. Economic, startegic, historical....

Somaliland has always kept her distance with Ethiopia and Djibouti, knowing full well that these two will be the last in the world to recognize her as a country for obvious and sensible reasons, but both have interest and will to see that there is no war in that part for any reason.

Somaliland rebuffed Egypt and Saudis and by extension Eritrea for use of its lands/waters on Yemen.

Ethiopians current are convinced that Puntland, Djibouti, Central and South West Somalia and Kililka are very close to Tigray there fore are to be undermined.

Last year has been more of America, UAE/Egypt/Saudi, Eritrea and Farmaajo just went for the ride. His influence even with relations with Puntland with Ethiopia and Somaliland was very minimal, more of face book than on the ground.

Secessionist beg Abiy, Somaliland is becoming like Kurdistan always begging despotic foreign powers instead of reaching out to their fellow Somalis.  So sad.
