    There's no dragging Puntland into anything. It already made its bed by sending its scarce military resources to the South to fight alongside the Ethiopians. Invading it is certainly justified from a military, if not a moral, point of view.

     

    Still, the majority of Puntlanders, sans the wicked collaborator few, are against this occupation.

     

    Very little good can come from such an invasion.

    ^^^ The (wannabe) state of Somaliland, like any other state, is an amoral entity. It will do business with whomever it believes will help it achieve its goals. Think the Gulf states versus Iraq and the US invasions (Gulf Wars I and II). Some Gulf states, despite the overwhelming opposition of their populations, made their collaboration with the invasion quite public. From allowing the use of their air bases, their air space to even housing troops, and providing supply lines all televised on CNN.

     

    Djibouti openly houses a US base from which aircraft take off to bomb Southern Somalia. Somaliland* should receive no more or less condemnation if it is proven they are indeed providing the Ethiopians with access to the port of Berbera for armament supply lines

     

    But there's no proof of your claim. I know because I made the same claim only to find little evidence to support it. Make no mistake about it, however, I still feel there's something going on in Berbera. I just can't prove it, so I stopped making that claim.

     

    We have to make a distinction between the actions/statements of the state and those of laymen who are in support of a state. LANDER, not unlike Duke, is keepin' it real and going out on a limb in defense of the state. If (or when) the day comes and you have irrefutable evidence Somaliland helps Ethiopia militarily, he may do the Duke and deny it anyway. :D

     

    * It is an unrecognized state but it behaves, and should be referred to, as a state.

     

    P.S. Ceyrow Jr., you're fast becoming a polarizing pest not to mention getting on my last nerve. :D

    Ayoub, I don't know what I want Somalilanders to do. May be stop blaming all Somalis for what Siyaad Barre did. And may be work in getting Somaliland (the area) to be a leader of Somalia again and forget this secession. And may be, just may be, stick around and help us get rid of Ethiopia and the collaborators.

     

    I can only dream, right?

    Yes, Mr. Oodweyne. I do. In fact, I further believe Somaliland hopes that any country, however small or distant, will recognize her. Even if it's Palau. A precedent is what Somaliland needs. Any precedent.

     

    We're only talking of Ethiopia here because of obvious reasons: shared borders, the occupation, it being the largest country of the Horn, it's the current seat of the AU, etc.....

    Northerner, yes it is a question saaxib. Collaborators want Ethiopia to reward them with power over all Somalis. Secessionists need recognition from Ethiopia to separate them from other Somalis.

     

    Denouncing Ethiopia and its plans for the Horn and simultaneously needing it for secession cannot coexist.

     

    Both groups need Ethiopia for slightly different and completely selfish reasons. Neither can speak on behalf of the greater good for Somalis. I'd say this is a clear case of same shit, different rear end.

    Simon received plenty of hate mail in response to her research ("Obviously Professor Simon hates her kids," read one), which isn't surprising. Her findings shake the very foundation of what we've been raised to believe is true. In a recent NEWSWEEK Poll, 50 percent of Americans said that adding new children to the family tends to increase happiness levels. Only one in six (16 percent) said that adding new children had a negative effect on the parents' happiness. But which parent is willing to admit that the greatest gift life has to offer has in fact made his or her life less enjoyable?

     

    Parents may openly lament their lack of sleep, hectic schedules and difficulty in dealing with their surly teens, but rarely will they cop to feeling depressed due to the everyday rigors of child rearing. "If you admit that kids and parenthood aren't making you happy, it's basically blasphemy," says Jen Singer, a stay-at-home mother of two from New Jersey who runs the popular parenting blog MommaSaid.net. "From baby-lotion commercials that make motherhood look happy and well rested, to commercials for Disney World where you're supposed to feel like a kid because you're there with your kids, we've made parenthood out to be one blissful moment after another, and it's disappointing when you find out it's not."
