  1. Typical somali, always suggestion things with out prove. Theirs nothing to suggest that the words "garee" or "wale" have any indian origin, they could sound the same, however doesn't mean that they are the same word. However their is no denying that their are words in the Somali language that have Indian origin, such as Roodi etc.
  2. Too many delusional people. I have said it before and I will say it again, Alshabab can not be defeated, because even if they lose their stronghold's they will revert to guerilla tactics, the best solution is negotiation.
  3. Because their more interested in just making a small profit rather then expanding their business to became a global brand. And now days to have global presence it must be something 'different',

In the book The Imam talks about a certain chief of a clan and says: 'This Soomaali..'. again the author always differentiates The Imam and the Somalis and their troops. Intaa wax ku qaado. Also, there's a mention of person that can be his father and he is referred to as a 'Below' Habashi ethnic that has been arabized. Bring proof or calcaalka jooji, this anit Arabia this is Somalia.

  6. Only a Idio* would think that. - Somalia was never fully homogeneous country, there are other ethnicities, Bantu's, Arabs, etc - Somalia's history doesn't go back to Arabia, only delusional people believe such stuff. Somalia has 6000+ history. - We do have one language with many variations. - Somalis are not a mixture of anyone, genetics has proven that - Our culture is not only nomadic pastoralist's as some would like to make us think, but also farmers, and urbanites. Before colonialism all the cities that exist today existed. - Ethiopia is our rival for better or worse, either way we have to deal with it. - I don't think the Somali conflict was based on clan's, it was more to do with economic situation and power. Clan was the cover.
  7. sad times for Somalia and its people. When the wolfs come for their meal.
  8. One of the earliest memories I can remember is watching an Italian movie back in Mog where a man eats worms, and me vomiting afterwards, my grandmothers always remember me of this, I think I was around 5 at that time.

This kid is diffidently going to be a star if all goes according to plan, inshallah. I can see my Celtic were so angry when he was sold to Chelsea.
  10. Off course, the only way is up now, Somalia has already hit its rock bottom. The only thing needed now is a strong and good leadership. Once that's in place Somalia has unlimited potential. It already has 1- Strategic location ie close to large markets in Middle East, Asia and Africa 2- Large diaspora, many who have been educated overseas 3- Plenty of resources, ie proven Uranium, tin, bauxite, and Oil and gas which is also widely though to be in Somalia 4- large coast line, both for trade and commercial business 5- Two rivers and a large fertile area which can produce enough food for whole of East Africa 6- A common language, culture, religion and identity If take all these factors into account, with a little bit of peace, surely the only way is up.

A thousand year old city that traded through the ages with the Tang Dynasty of China, and the Abbassid & Ummayad Caliphates of the Near East has seen its proud history twisted by a temporary occupation that lasted less than 10 years. 1000 years vs 10 years, unbelievable! I have seen similar cultural misappropriation with old towns like Saylac, its disgusting. Ditto! Well said. How is that when talking about Berbera with a history well over a 1000 years, they bring an old 'illiterate' man too talk about something which he has no knowledge and make up some fantasy fair tails. It also shows that the documentary makers haven't even done their own research on the history of the city. We have documents, namely Periplus of the Erythraean Sea from 1 century AD which talk about Berbera. Somalida need to own their own history and stop giving credit to ajnabis for everything.

Its good to see many people who are willing to go back and contribute. I think one of the advantages Somalia will have in the future is its "diaspora" population, a great number of people educated overseas, who can bring many different skills to the development and growth of Somalia.

Good luck to him. The difference is Barack Obama never claimed to be a Muslim.

Wow Now Caydid (AUN) is my Uncle. The one thing i can understand from this Guy is hes has no principles, how could a man who I suppose is Muslim and his wife wears Hijab support a disgusting Act such as homosexuality, which is greatly condemned in Islam. Imagine the consequences for our youth if the only Somali Senator in the whole USA supports homosexuality. Sometimes its not good to support someone just because your related but rather to look at their principles and what they have to offer. Grawoegirl, I suggest next time you run your long tongue, to think twice.
