  1. We, African Rights Monitor (ARM) want to express our concern about the arrest, trial and subsequent imprisonment of Mr. Abdifitah Jama, the Director of Horseed FM radio in Bosaso, Somalia. ARM wants to express its reservations about the circumstances under which Mr. Jama was arrested and the nature of the charge leveled against him. ARM wants to draw attention to the hasty trial and verdict of Mr. Jama’s case. Mr. Jama was tried and convicted within the same day; this timeframe did not give Mr. Jama’s defense team enough time to investigate and prepare for the case. Such hasty trial violates international laws and denies Mr. Jama the rights granted to him under Puntland’s Constitution and the Constitution of Somalia’s Transitional Federal Government. The evidentiary rules used to convict Mr. Jama do not meet the legal standards of any jurisdiction and as such Mr. Jama’s punishment is exceptionally harsh if not outright illegal. ARM urges the President of Puntland, the administration and the courts to grant a fair trial where the circumstances of his arrest and charges against him are clarified, and where the evidence against him is presented to his legal team and the media. ARM urges the courts to give Mr. Jama’s defense team the necessary time to gather evidence and prepare for the case. ARM appeals to the President of Puntland and his administration to safeguard the well-being and the security of Mr. Jama while he is under the custody of Puntland’s Prison System. It is our hope that the administration and the courts will give Mr. Jama’s family and legal team free access to him. Sources: http://www.africanrightsmonitor.org/blog.asp Sincerely ARM Team
  2. ^Your emotions seem to have taken the best of you. I'm not sure what you being young and not being born in Somalia have to do with anything.
  3. Somalilander will celebrate his death like it is May 18TH Somalis will celebrate his death like it is July the 1st He must have a special place in your heart-do keep his memory alive.
  4. Che is telling her to call in sick? What for? Did the man give her cafimaad? Ibti-stop obsessing about the man. I was telling to indulge herself with nice coco and stay late in bed. Enjoy little moment Mida kale nagadaa bootada. Midku lagda hadii lahelo-you be in the same mood.
  5. OK-since none of that appeals to you. Have N call in sick tomorrow if you are working
  6. Lychee=Yes Have little fun since you can't catch Zzzzz. I have done to couple of friends. To this day, they still talk about a crazy person calling them in the middle of the night. Another one-if you have relative living in the west. Call them up and say in the loudest voice possible War Gaalkacayo (or what town you have relatives living)kasoo hadlayaa. Ina Rooble Gudcur baan ahey-abtagaa inaa deyrtiis gabadheeda inaa abtideed. War lacag ii soo d1r. Lacag ii soo d1r. Make sure they don't recognize your voice. In fact, do to this to the fella that burnt you.
  7. ^Prank call someone and when they pick the phone-yell Allahu Akbar at the top your and hang up. Make sure your ID is blocked though.
  8. I don't if this is crazy. One early morning in November, I took dip in the frigid water near Gloucester, MA. I could swear my heart stop pumping blood for sec or two.
  9. Or maybe you should change teams?
  10. Haatu-War Soomaaliyow nabada ma rabtid? First thing we need is to accept everyone's uncle f*cked up. The irony here is the men we defend have done nothing for their tribes, I mean seriously what warlord can say I improve the lives of my tribesmen. We are all poverty and dirty.
  11. Akhyaarta hadal haan ma buuxiye-lets turn a page and find a common ground. I'm assuming everyone wants peaceful Somalia and this is common goal. Lets open dialogue on how such goal be achieved. Remember give and take.

  14. ^LoooooL Dinka guy I know was telling about Dahabshil and other Somali businesses in the Jubba. Apparently, there's gold rush in the Jubba and other parts of the southern Sudan. But he said Somalis are running the place.
  15. Duke-Gool aad salaxdey, I had to take it nooh
  16. ^I have no idea-properly habar kuuleey or habar miina gana dheer. Business is business-agreed and I like said, all Somali businessmen are in the same circles and are probably laughing at us. I gotta Dahabshil is most reliable of the bunch. It deliver it to any tuulo and even chase geeljires grazing his camels. I used another another money transfer company while, I had to chase them around to make the money get delivered.
  17. Che, I heard Sudi has retired from the (warlordism)team, so this guy is the man in the making.. Duke-this one will fade into obscurity as well, afterall the lion of Puntland or I should say Somalia has retired as well
  18. Ibti is shareholder Norf...I don't know if Dahablshil has clannish dimension but one thing is sure on SOL-those who are defending it or attacking it seem motivated by regional origins. Anyhow, it's pointless to complian Dahabshil if you are not doing anything about it. If you don't like it and feel so strongly about it-shut down its offices in your region but expect retaliatory actions. That said, all Somali businessmen isku meel ku qayilaan and they don't give a cahoots about any region. Money is their God.
  19. Maskiinka is feeling helpless-caught between Al-Shabaab and AMISOM ironically neither of which any allegiance to qabiil. One thing is sure, waagii qabiilka lagu riti kacsan jirey came to pass. Had this been 91, this man would be hero.
