  1. There's the problem. He will do more harm than anyone else. It is almost like he wants no one after he is gone. This deal might be another con job. He sold everything he could in Hargeisa. I guess the land and sea were the next logical thing.
  2. A lot of Awdal folks now seem to have more faith in Xamar than Hargeisa. That says a lot. Mind you, this gift from Muse will affect the three clans in Western Somaliland most.
  3. Xaaji, Bihi's desperation is not out of concern for Somaliland. It is a political survival. He could have held elections and let the next admin with a full mandate decide.
  4. It is interesting to see Amharas defending Somali sovereignty on X and other social media platforms. Amharas want him out. They felt betrayed as they believed Abiy owed them for defending him against the TPLF. The current OLA wants him out as they are not interested in unified Ethiopia. They want independent Oromo with Addis Ababa as their capital. The Tigray are not in a position to help them. Amharas control Western Tigray (land claimed by Amhara) and Eritrea is still in many parts of Tigray. In any case, Somalis will always face the same problem regardless of who occupies Melenik Palace. A strong Somalia that is at peace with itself is the only answer even if Ethiopia balkanized. In today's world, might is right.
  5. This event will end in two ways, the balkanization of Ethiopia or the whole dominance of Ethiopia (Oromia to be exact) over the Somali people. There is really no middle ground.
  6. You have a point there. Unfortunately, it might come down to playing his game. Xaaji, Have you seen what Oromos have been doing to the Amharas living among them and to their neighboring regions including the Somali region? Once they outnumber you, you are screwed. If you want to know how Abiy and his Oromo will treat Slanders, look at Ethiopia.
  7. We (Somalis) are not known to think critically or anticipate problems. What the clan rebels did is a testament to that. Our only hope is the youth who, thank God, have been expressing their anger. Before this mad move, the young people in the North and less extent Pland were already troubled by the endless flow of Oromo into Somali cities and towns.
