Draghi Says European Companies Can Pay for Gas in Rubles
Che -Guevara replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
Yes. There's not enough time to switch suppliers and some EU countries are more dependent on Russian gas than others. Equally important, Russia has large deposits of essential minerals including rare earth minerals that are essential for some important industries such as aeronautics, renewables, medicine, nuclear, etc. The more the war drags on, the harder it will become to contain Russia. -

Irish Nationalists Win Historic Vote in Northern Ireland
Che -Guevara replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
If England will possibly be the only country left of what's of UK, can their presence in the Security Council be justified? Granted they have nuclear weapons, but their influence and economic mighty will be diminished. The economically mighty Germany which is now re-arming can make better case of being a permanent member of the Security Council. The English speaking America won't allow such moves but the reality is UK is no more influential than Germany. -
Sinn Féin will be the largest party in the Northern Ireland Assembly...many many many miles from reunification but this is indeed historic.

Finally. Hopefully, everything goes smooth and everyone accepts the outcome.
