    Though Deni is pissed that HSM crossed him after supporting him, he is on the right as far as the elections and federalism are concerned. The rest of the states joined HSM initially because he gave term extension, but right now, they don't want extension because they will be situation as HSM come 2026. Meaning their mandate would end and won't be in position to select MPs who in turn selects the president.

     

    More importantly, HSM will be in control the proposed 18 member federal election commission. The commission will control all elections instead of states controlling the local and state elections, and by extension federal elections.

    Laftagareen and Madobe need new mandate so by 2026, they will still be in office while HSM's tenure comes to end.

    He might be a dictator, but he's reasonable. He did not initiate the war wit the TPLF in 98. He agreed to the terms of The Algiers Agreement in 2,000 but it was Meles who didn't honor it.

    Aferwerki welcomed the change in leadership and tried his best to engage Abiy after Tigray war, but Abiy betrayed him and Amhara, two groups who helped him defeat TPLF. He was never in support of balkanized Ethiopia and was never a fan of ethnic federalism.

    And as it stands, it's Abiy who is threatening to turn Eritrea into Gaza.

    PM Abiy threatens Eritrea and insults Somalia.

    According to reports coming from Adama, in his closing speech to his party’s conventions, Abiy stunned the audience with these two statements. 1. He can make Eritrea another Gaza in a month’s time.

    2. Leaders of Somalia are mere village representative and do not deserve his attention. If confirmed, he has declared war on Eritrea. The question is when? Mentally sane or not, there goes the leader of a 120 million in HoA.

    It was early 1905, thousands of  well armed Melenik forces marched all the to Balcad, one hour way from Xamar. Sheikh Hassan Barsane was fighting Melenik and Italians simultaneously. The Biyamal were in fierce war with the Italians.

    Melenik also tried to invade Somali territory from Gedo. They reached Luuq in 1896. The Geledi [Raxanweyn] Sultanate along with other Somali pushed them back.

    When people say, Ethiopians have literally been trying to reach the Somali coast through any means for centuries. It is not an exaggeration. 

    If it was not the many Somali souls lost in the defense of Somali territories, we would be speaking Amharic now,

    It was not from lack of trying. If it was not for Ajuran empire, Geledi Sultanate, Adal, and other Somali entities from North to South, they would have taken the Somali sea. 

    They came very close to capturing Banadir if it wasn't for Sheikh Hassan Barsane.
