  1. Congrats. Names: Layla, Aisha, or Sarah
  2. This is indeed a very touching piece. Insha'Allah, this new government will be able to make a difference in this families life and all Somalis who are living in this situation. "I urge all the warlords to support the new government. Somalis are all brothers and sisters from the same race. All we need is to be treated equally whatever clan we come from."
  3. It is me or is this section being taken over by the females?
  4. I would like to advice my brothers from SL to stand clear of that shattered glass. It's a shame really, it was quiet a lovely home.
  5. Originally posted by HornAfrique: Bari war dee sxb wiilka haka waalin, awalbu yara wareersanaa. Ahh. The sweet stench of fear... The alliance has been formed my friend, and the NVA shall triumph over the JVA in the battlefield that is SOL! If it was a matter of anyone equaling the JVA, then suffice to say Otali and I would have been the best of friend  , and not Rahima who in the political sense wouldn't have been a member of the armed grouping I'm sure he was only jesting; I do believe you are over analysing...yet again.
  6. HornAfrique + Rahima = Jubba Valley Alliance No worries, we'll make our own Nugaal Valley Alliance...
  7. Originally posted by Nationalist: I would say it's more of a disastrous blow to our patriotic image to be synonymous with Sland. Agreed.
  8. Nationalist, Saaxib, it is wrong for the son of the President to be among this 'delegation' and including him will only bring charges of nepotism and corruption. There are many others that are as qualified(if not more), to perform this task; let us not go the way of past/current Somali administrations. The President must also surround himself with a more diverse staff and spokespersons so as to not only be preceived as inclusive, but more importantly, that he receive a wide range of opinions on subject matters. As someone rightly stated, "This is not Puntland."
  9. Originally posted by NGONGE: ^^^ That one is a bit farfetched, wouldn’t you say? Perhaps mate, but I've been called a bit of an optimist....
  10. I suggest you not get caught up in the rumour/spin of the day, there are always two sides(at least) to every story. Col.Cabdullahi Yuusuf oo la sheegay in uu diiday macaawino la siin lahaa iyo warar arrintaasi beeninaya. Ruunkinet 21/11/04 Dhinaca kale, warar ku dhowdhow madaxweyne Cabdullahi Yuusuf ayaa ku waramaya in uu diiday macaawino ay siin lahaayeen dowlada Carbeed asagoo u sheegay in lacag kasta oo la siinaya loo soo marsiiyo waji dowladeed. Col. Cabdullahi Yuusuf ayaa la sheegay in uu u sheegay madaxda Carbeed ee uu booqashad ku tagay in uu marka hore doonayo in uu magacaabo wasiirka maaliyadda kadibna halkaasi loo soo mariyo wixii macaawina ah ee la siinayo dowladdiisa. Warar kale ee suuqa aad loo soo geliyay ayaa ku waramaya in madaxweynaha loo diiday in la siiyo macaanino asagoo aan magacaabi dowladdiisa. http://www.ruunkinet.com/new_3134.htm
  11. I sometimes like reading topics backwards.....more interesting.
  12. ^^Aniga waxaas ma u baahno saaxib; booga jecelka oo aad hada akhrinaysaa anaa qoray. Oday weyn baan ahay, afar xaasas baan helay iyo dhowr ilmo baa magacayga siiye. Ma fahantay? Last bits of advice mate: Aabahay wuxuu sheegi jirey "Wax kastaa samaynayso, ku dadaal ku dadaal." And Somaalidu waxay yidhadaan, "Naagaha iyo carruurtaba sasabaa lagu wadaa." Words to live....
  13. Originally posted by Rahima: I would of have preferred to be from more exotic locations like Barava and Jamama, qabiil is almost of no value to some... Let me say for the record, I think Rokko will agree, that Bari is as exotic if not more so than those places you listed. Bandar Beyla is just one example.... Source: Bari Tourism Board Originally posted by HornAfrique: To be speaking frankly your qabiil, not even your qabiil, your laf, only occupies a very small part Mudug, and that's if I'm speaking frankly. If that is indeed your frankness, I hope to see less of it. I don't see what you are attempting to gain from such remarks other then further agitating/continuing the sideways direction of this debate...just a bit of advice mate.
  14. Allah, Somaalidu wax walba bay ku murmaan...
  15. Ilaahey ha u naxariisto, Janatul Fardowsa Ilaahey haka waraabiyo, eheladii samir iyo iimaan Ilaah haka siiyo, Inaa lilaahi wa Inaa Ilayhi Raajicuun. Amiin Amiin Amiin. sheherazade Hope you feel better, insha'Allah.
  16. Maxaa dadkaan ka baryaysaa inay sawiro kuu sow diraan? War hadaa shaqo ka weydo meeshaa degan tahay(kambodia) waa inaad ka goorto. Lacag hadii aad sidaasba u baahantahay, galbeedka imo...caydh baa lugu siinaa....just some advice. Masalaam
  17. Samurai Worrior: In his late 30's, well educated, glasses, and nicely tailored. Perhaps a professor. Hornafrik: I have to agree with an earlier assesement. He is in his 20's, skinny, rarely shaves, and thick glasses. A nice guy who always seems to finish last. SmithnWestern: In his late 20's, very political, typical faarax. Like coffee shops far too much. He works in IT perhaps. Ayoub_Sheikh: In his early 30's, slightly balding, long beard, splits time between the local marfish and masjid. Currently unemployed. Sophist: In his early 30's, well educated law student, passionate about his country(and region in particular). Enjoys listening to odayaal recounting the past(perhaps at the local marfish). Jamamatu: In his late 30's, slightly overweight, very solitary, always angry about something, spends too many nights on baaltalk. And a 'part-time' taxi driver. Baashi: In his early 30's, persuing post graduate studies, very little free time. Enjoys real debates about Somalia, not petty arguements. Northerner: In his 30's, works full time(outside the city), loves footie and obsessed with 'Burco Boodh weyn'. More to come...
  18. Wallahi si fiican baa sheeko wadi kartaa. Aalee, qosol baa ii qabsaday maanta. I think you better be careful though, you may have lawsuits on your hands for character assasinations...a certain taxi driver and a balding card player come to mind.
  19. Originally posted by HornAfrique: Oh I'm sure you've tried and eaten it, but you just don't know it as cambulo....I call cambulo, when diger is cooked, smoked, then popcorn and coffee(?) are added. Well, I can assure I have not had that...nor do I intend to. And if I may add, those sounds like the very strange ingredients to combine. Not really, but the fact you though cambulo was canjeelo desomalizes you Correction. I asked if they were similar...kulaha "desomalizes", war ma dagaal baa raadinaysaa?
  20. ^^There must be more to it then just just digir; otherwise I will have been very much disappointed.
  21. ^^So one must eat cambulo to be considered Somali? Originally posted by HornAfrique: Are you serious Bari? Say you're playin with us! I have not had the pleasure of trying it yet(at least I dont believe so). And I must say your being very unhelpful. Just come out with it...what is it?
  22. Indeed. The perfect weekend morning meal; laxoox w/subag, sokor, and far too much shaah w/xawaash. And soor or suqaar in the afternoons are always good. btw, what is cambulo? Is it similar to canjero?
  23. Horn, ma qolkaan baa wakhtigaaga ku lumeysaa? Ma su'aashaan baa hablaha ku waasha? Waxaa u maleynaaye inaad tahay nin siyaasi ah...laakin waan khalday. Waxaan kuu sheegi lahaa waa sedex: 1. Barashadaada dhamey. 2. Shaqo gal(bilaa lacag waxba ma sameyn kartid). 3. Xaas fiican raadso Mise shukansi bes baa doonaysaa?
  24. Thanks saaxib, I especially liked photos 1, 3, and 5. Did you take some of these yourself?
