  1. Nasir act normal. You can't even handle a conversation so beat it, son!
  2. Originally posted by Yasmine: Firstly, I don’t recall referring to myself as a Somalilander, do you? But you can keep making assumptions if that floats your boat. Secondly, I think many Somalilanders would be quick to point out that they were 'abandoned' long ago. Sorry if I assumed you were a Somalilander, no need to cry yasmine! Don't bring the cruel actions of Afweyne in the hands of the Somali people, if you've read well than you knew that Puntlanders were abandoned long before. Originally posted by Yasmine: To be honest, this statement itself is questionable. If you recall, Somaliland and Somalia proper were once under separate colonial rule. And before union, legal contracts were agreed upon by both regions. One of the reasons why Somalilanders are calling for independence is because parts of that agreement were violated by Siyaad Barre’s regime. You're acting like the two Somalilands never coïncided (sorry for using fancy words) Siyaad Barre was president of both Somalilands, not just Southern Somalia, not to mention the support given to the Siyaad Barre regime by the Somalilanders. Originally posted by Yasmine: I fail to see what Tamils and Tutsis have to do with this issue, so I won’t comment on them. But if I were you, I would refrain from denying the genocide which took place. Not only are those remarks false, they do absolutely nothing to help the Somali Weyn cause. But if you want proof … you simply can start by taking the veil of prejudice off your eyes and opening them to the truth. Do you not have friends or acquaintances that lived in Somaliland during the 20 years of Siyaad Barre’s rule? If yes, then I suggest you have a chat with them about what they or their relatives experienced. And as far as it being “unresearched” as you put it, there is actually an investigating body known as the War Criminals Committee in Somaliland which is compiling research on the genocide as we speak. If you don't see the comparison between Tamils and Tutsis on one side and the Somalilanders on the other, I suggest you spend some time in the library! I never denied the genocide on the Somalilanders, I only said there are many doubts about some claims of the genocide procedure. It's not ackward if there are massgraves of innocent people from West-Somalia welcomed in Hargaysa by Siyaad Barre. Like I said I've no prejudice I speak the truth, I'm angry when people like you neglect the fact that Puntlanders didn't have an easy ride either! FYI when I'm with Somalilanders, genocide is not the most popular topic when we're playing soccer or just hanging out. And about the research on the genocide, without a broadbased goup of Somali people participating I'll regard the socalled research as biased. Originally posted by Yasmine: If you want to talk about anything being ‘criminal’, let’s start with the logic of this statement. It alone proves you know next to nothing about the long list of grievances presented by Somalilanders in the case for their independence. Whether they want to admit it or not, Somalis know that Siyaad Barre only helped those of his tribe. He, his in-laws, and those close to them were the only beneficiaries of that regime and their interests lay mainly in building/modernizing the south while the north remained in shambles. For instance, until Somaliland broke away, I think there was only one major road in there and it was built by the British during colonial times. But Jaamac, you can make whatever claims you want. I could even claim Somalilanders made a pact with the devil and they’re currently building a space station with him on mars. But without proof… hopefully, you see where I’m headed with this. I feel sorry for you, because of your ignorance. Somaliland region has not been neglected till the beginning of the 80s otherwise the SNM would be founded long time ago. Siyaad Barre's preference treatment of his clan was a very gradual process and started to accelerate after the april 1978 coup attempt by Puntlanders. FYI, Siyaad Barre wasn't popular till the West-Somalia war in 1977 for nothing! Don't insult me with making up claims during my precious time! I've told facts that can be checked, besides that Somaliland only had one road is a downright lie!..The highway triangle existed long before Puntland even had a road. That road in Puntland was only made to clear clan territory for better access for Siyaad Barre's dreaded elite red berets. Originally posted by Yasmine: Jaamac, the conversations you have in your head don’t necessarily reflect reality. And as far as the rest of your post in concerned, it appears you’re simply making your case for how great Puntland is… and I’m not surprised… so by all means, go right ahead. I've responded to you in a polite manner and took time to explain things to you. Accusing me of having hallucinations is pathetic and weak! If you see my post as a praise to Puntland than I feel sorry for you...maybe I waisted my time and you're just not worth my 2 cents. You tell me if I'm wrong.
  3. Leo_Cick, supp girl! You wanna get down baby?...I do!
  4. Leo_Cick, supp girl! You wanna get down baby?...I do!
  5. Spadez, are you denying the fact that SNM technicals had "certain tribe's name"-DILE!!! written all over it!! storming to slaughter innocent civilians in Ceerigaabo and Caynabo. Luckily they were defeated by the pro-Siyaad Barre militia of General Jaamac Green of Sanaag and crushed in Laascaanood. If we are talking about GENOCIDE than let's talk about the innocent civilians killed by the savage USC militias, they are responsible for the deaths of 500.000 to 700.000 Somali people. The CIA and the advice apparatus GlobalSecurity called the USC the dumbest military organisation ever in history...they capture a whole city..and what do they do?...they kill the people and destroy the entire city, wreck havoc in the rest of the south instead of setting up a government. So better for all of us...Let's not go there!
  6. Spadez thanks saaxib! Like I told many times I'm not a hater. I don't hate Somalilanders, because then I would also hate some of my friends and some cousins, uncles, aunts etc. I hoped some people would back me up...I tried to be a dignified SOL member. I guess some people will always hate you for something. But spadez, where did I call Somalilanders Jews? Oh yeah now I know! you should look in the context saaxib, it was no CAY walaahi. Just an example of history. I'll keep contributing useful, interesting and FUNNY posts till I'll be banned, cuz if even a moderator said I'll be getting my a ss kicked out of here FO SHO! then they're not giving me much hope. Libaaxsankataabte, don't forget who was the first to reply on your questions man and contribute useful stuff. If I'm not welcome here let me know aight! if I'm welcome than this BOI doesn't understand Somali hints! C YA!!!
  7. It's pretty obvious you're trying to get the Puntlanders out of SOL, I'm telling ya "ain't gonna work". Don't expect me to call you saaxib...I like Somalilanders and have a lot of Somaliland friends but you are a real piece of work! Keep going...what you are doing is not in the rules, but I'm sure snakes are not allowed in SOL. What I did was not to hurt people...squeeler waa CAY kulaha..bisinka!!! I said it in english not Soomaali!!!! finding ways to get rid of me, while I've contributed so many good stuff during my short period.
  8. Gediid, any chance your nickname is squeeler? Why didn't you send me a PM and give me a chance to edit it. PS: You call that trolling? People can't take a joke except for Spadez.
  9. hey LSKT I didn't read the article so I didn't see the clan's name. Don't shoot the messenger BTW: I'll be sticking around for a long time in SOL, believe that!!!!
  10. BTW: I refrained from voting, because otherwise it would mean I agree those three are the greatest three Somali politicians. ...But if I would be asked who is the best of the three...I would choose Marxuum Maxamed Xaaji Ibraahim Cigaal (Alla ha uu naxaristee) gotta go...have to go to the mosque!!!
  11. No yasmine, that's not what I meant. And it's criminal in the sense of that first of all you guys are abandoning your Somali brothers in a way. It's also Somaliland whom drove a wedge between you and the rest because of Somaliland depicting the rest of the Somalis as cannibalistic savages. Second, Somalia's territorial integrity and sovereignty is sacred and not to be questioned and Somaliland is part of that. Every Somali has agreed on that and supposed unresearched genocide is not a valid argument, looking at other peoples like Tamils, Kurds, Tutsis and sofort. But if you would understand then the Hargaysa goverment calling itself Somaliland wouldn't imprison Buurmadow, king of a local clan, and would accept giving people the choice to be against the existence of Somaliland and to question it. Not to mention that all the arguments given to support the Somaliland case and serve as a pilar of the Somaliland existence have all been crushed by neighbouring PUNTLAND. To give you some examples: - "Somaliland is the only peaceful and developing region in Somalia." FALSE!!!, Puntland develops just as much or even better and like Somaliland had only some minor military clashes within the entity. - "Somaliland has been the only people in Somalia to be massacred and discriminated against by the southerners." FALSE!!!, Puntland people have been facing genocide, repression and discrimination since day one of Siyaad Barre's reign. While Puntland was neglected and repressed, the present day Somalilanders enjoyed peace and stability and were staunch supporters of Siyaad Barre's military dictatorship. Puntland even warned that this would be also the fate of Somaliland since the military dictatorship followed the agenda of a certain group of tribes. Ironically Somaliland elders responded by saying that such statement is not true and that Siyaad Barre and his clan were noble and knightly. The Somalilanders would never be repressed they said. That Puntlanders were repressed was no reason for them to oppose Siyaad Barre, shows there ethnocentrism. Now if Somalilanders didn't give a thing about other people dying then why would other people in the whole wide world feel sorry for Somalilanders. When I have time I'll talk about the neglection of Sool and Sanaag regions primarily inhabited by people related to Puntlanders and the lies and deceits of socalled Somaliland. I can go on and on and on, but I rest my case for now!
  12. saaxibkey Spadez, you've asked a very good question wich a lot of Somalis wrestle with. The answer is that these days you have to have military power to make a difference in Somalia and the political will. These men certainly have the political will but they both live in Twin Cities Minnesota and with no power at all. They both belong to a clan whom allready have chosen their leader wich is Colonel Cabdullaahi Yuusuf Axmed. But to get back to the original TOPIC, Cabdirisaaq Xaaji Xuseen like Sophist said had reduced nepotism and corruption wich was very prevalent at the time. A problem every young nation has to deal with in it's debut. But he also banned the tribal representation rules, he thought they were dragging Somalia down if an unqualified person would be allocated a government post just because his clan is needs the representation. He changed it into "BEST PERSON FOR THE JOB GETS IT!" thus only qualified people would work for the government under his reign. His best quality however is his unclannic look on Somali political affairs. You know what I mean if you've listened to BBC somalia this week with Siilaanyo and Cabdirisaaq Xaaji Xuseen. His BIGGEST mistake is promoting General Maxamed Siyaad Barre as commander of the armed forces while everybody knew Siyaad Barre was no good. In an interview when asked about this matter he simply replied that he was the oldest, highest ranking an most experienced military officer. You can see he's a man serving his people.
  13. MMA don't forget the most POPULAR somali politicians ever; Mudane Cabdirisaaq Xaaji Xuseen and General Maxamed Abshir Muuse! People from every tribe respect and adore them for their sincere love for their people. For an example: - Cabdirisaaq Xaaji Xuseen, the former Prime Minister had advocated not to squander money for an Pan-Somalism for being a large risk, but to use money for the development of the young state and the Somali people. Also the only politician to speak up about the honest allocation of gorvernment posts to the northerners. - Or General Maxamed Abshir Muuse who refused to participate to fraud the presidential elections for his kinsman president Cabdirashiid Cali Shermarke. General Maxamed Siyaad Barre however was enthusiastic and couldn't wait to begin. Not to mention that general Maxamed Abshir Muuse is the FATHER of the oldest force of Somalia; the police. Read the book of Jaamac Maxamed Qaalib, you'll only read praises and good anecdotes about these men. They were truly Modern Nomads! and ABU_AMMAR here I have a biography of Cabdullaahi Ciise Maxamuud, enjoy saaxib! Abdullahi Issa Mohamud: Hon. Abdullahi was born in 1922 at Afgoi. The second world war broke out while he was still a student. After he turmoiled of the war years, he joined the SYL from its onset. He became one of the leaders of the party and was eventually appointed Secretary-General. He went to Paris and New York as an SYL delegate to proclaim the right of the Somali people to independence. After election as an SYL deputy in the political elections of 1956. Hon. Abdullahi was called in the same year to form Somalia's first Government, thus becoming the first Prime Minister. Re-elected in 1959, he was re-confirmed as Premier, and held for some time also the portfolios of Foreign Affairs, Interior and Grace and justice. In the Government formed after Somalia's Independence in July 1960, he was appointed Foreign Minister. In this capacity he took part in many international conventions, in particular the U.N. General Assembly and the African conferences of Lagos, Addis Abeba, Dakar and Other. In the general election of March 1964 he was returned to the National assembly as an SYL deputy for Beled Weyne. Those three men HASSAN JAMA wanted us to choose from are three ****** whom will only be remembered by there own kinsmen and not on a NATIONAL LEVEL like General Maxamed Abshir Hamaan and Cabdirisaaq Xaaji Xuseen and their likes!
  14. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I'm falling off my chair saaxib! just testing your IQ.....and It's pretty good average IQ of SOL LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL I've been caught redhanded Besides if Somalilanders wrote it, than people think it's more serious than coming from Puntland media.
  15. Casualties as supporters of jailed traditional leader revolt in Somaliland - Thursday, March 04, 2004 at 13:19 Hargeisa (SomalilandNet) - Constituencies of the imprisoned traditional leader Boqor Osman Aw Mohamoud “Burmadow” arrested a few months ago in the Northwest Somalia (self-declared republic of Somalia) clashed with forces loyal to the Somaliland government in Dararweyne, Sanag. Casualties on both sides were reported. Four deaths and have a dozen injuries on the side of the Somaliland forces with one death on the dissidents are being reported. Further uprising which could in result in clashes in other regions are also reported. The situation is said to be tense with emotions being very high among Boqor Burmadow's supporters, and could easily get out of hands if not contained. Boqor Burmadow, a peace broker and a highly revered traditional leader in Somalia, Somaliland in particular is remembered for his role in mediating disputing political parties in Puntland State last year. Accused of divulging state secret and aiding "enemy of the State" according to the Riyaale government, Boqor Burmadow’s residence was raided in the middle of the night subsequent to an interview he had given to one of the local newspapers in Hargeisa. In the interview, Boqor Burmadow discussed reconciliatory and mediation efforts he undertook with the government of Puntland State of Somalia over the issue of the disputed regions of Sool, Ssanag & Ayn on behalf of the Somaliland government. He stated that he only planned to start negotiations with the Puntland government officials after he was assigned to engage the Puntland administration, and with the full knowledge of President Riyaale and his government. Additionally, Boqor Burmadow asserted that President Riyaale's government had a change of heart in seeking peaceful resolution to the problem after the President's sudden visit to Djibouti last year. Consequently, police raided his hotel room under armed presence having his room ransacked for evidence and incriminating documents. An elderly man reportedly with poor healthy condition suffering from high blood pressure among other ailments, Boqor Burmadow is currently held in Hargeisa's main prison where he awaits his destiny at the mercy of Somaliland's rudimentary legal system. Other traditional leaders from Togdheer and western Sanag regions traveled to Hargeisa late February, but failed to negotiate for his release. It was reported that the government in Hargeisa rejected calls from the traditional leaders to release the Boqor "King" desisting any official meetings with them. Disappointed as this is viewed in clear contrast with traditionally accepted customs, elders returned empty-handed to Togdheer and Sanag last week. Tension and emotions are said to be very high as news of armed clashes resulting in the death of civilians and government forces reaches other cities and villages. In Hargeisa, the capital as witnessed by our local reporter tension is said to be the highest, and people increasingly disconcerted by the situation are fearful of things to get out of hand. In El-Afweyn and Erigavo, where the majority of Boqor Burmadow's constituencies are concentrated, preparations for demonstrations calling for his immediate release and armed uprisings are being reported. Traditional elders, intellectuals, civil society organizations have all condemned the arrest of Boqor Burmadow, and called for his immediate release. Political parties, Kulmiye in particular which also maintains a significant supporter base in Togdheer and western Sanag have condemned the process and manner in which the imprisonment of Boqor Burmadow had been conducted. "It is very worrisome, but in all fairness, it took a lot longer than expected" said a local reporter in Hargeisa. "We felt on the day of his arrest his supporters, mainly from his sub-clan would have taken arms demanding his immediate release. And they have not made any attempts to break into his prison cell and rescue him out either." he added. We will keep you posted as news reaches our local news desk. 16. This is the good thing of Somaliland; they bring other Somalis closer together with their criminal idea of seccesion!
  17. The Somali Government of General Siyaad Barre has killed, maimed, tortured and raped people loyal to SNM and the SNM has killed everybody associating with the Somali Government's dominating tribe (we know wich). That makes it even and don't forget that other people who were loyal to the SSDF were killed in North Mudug. Children, women and the elderly died of thirst, because of the destruction of their waterreservoirs and poisoning of water wells. Young men have been massacred in Bacaadweyn. So Somalilanders should give it a rest and stop living in the past. We Puntlanders have moved on and so should you! You guys are sounding like the jewish survivors of WW2 whom conveniently forgot that the Russians lost 50 million people for example, not to mention the Asians and sofort! I support the idea of engaging a research of the victims in those mass graves. There's a large chance they are victims of the SNM barbaric actions.
  18. do you also have such a list of Somali names?
  19. hornafrique nice pictures man, looks like they are really happy there. First time I see pictures of CaabudWaaq, Galguduud. Keep them coming bro!
  20. Revolution in Somaliland...let justice prevail in Somaliland and free Buurmadow a king of a Somaliland clan. Let them fight for their right not to be humiliated. I strongly SUPPORT this noble revolution against Riyaale.
