  1. Baashi, “Now! Ethiopia (our enemy), Britain (former colonial power), EU, AU, US, UN, and Muslim world are all committed to respect territorial integrity of Somalia.” The rest I agree but Ethiopia …nah. Their troops cross into Somali territory everyday. Trust me Zenawi might pretend to be concerned for Somalia but he rather see it dismantled. If he could, he would have recognized Sland a long time ago. ------------------- Gediid you are so right when you said, “Every government in Somaliland so far from Tuur to Egal and now Riyaale all had one thing in common and that is their aspirations to see a united Somalia.” Attaining recognition isn’t as hard as it seems but Somaliland can’t get it. If the leaders of sland are serious about recognition, then why aren’t they making any noise to achieve their goal. The reality of this matter is that they are waiting for the South to get its act together, then to to join as one somalia. -------------- Bari Nomad, “Puntland and the republic(Somalia?) are one and the same. “ not at this time! -------------- Guraad, I haven’t been to sool recently as I have said. However, I have family going there and coming back all the time. Trust me they do keep me posted about the situation there. Secondly, I do have a common sense that says two people don’t think alike let alone the half a million people living in north central somalia. Therefore, for you to claim that all of the population in this region has the same loyalties is absurd. Why do you need to know about my relatives in lasanod anyways? What does that have to do with this discussion? “Do you know that somaliland mafia in hergeysa have no power what ever in my homeland … WHY THEY ARE AFRAID TO ACT” Well some people are responsible and don’t start a war to prove that you are strong or weak. “YOU ALL SEPARATESTS NEED TO WAKE UP BEFORE ITS TO LATE . “ I am not a seperatist. I believe in a United Somalia as well, however, I’m not overwelmed by emotions and seek to face the facts. There is no such a thing as 90% of people believing in the same and it’s is totally wrong for you to speak on their behalf if you are not a PERMANENT RESIDENT! Having said all that: Next time that you are there in las anod do me a favor and ask the hardliners who believe in a united somalia to tell you about their background. Did they grow up in Xamar livin’ large under the former regime? Do they have any villas in Xamar that they need to go back to? And ask the minority that want to join sland whether they have ever left the region to live in the capital city (Xamar). ps and pay attention to their accent, especially the younger generation, this can explain a lot, you know.
  2. correction After all that declaration posted by SmithNwestern is signed by my uncle...
  3. "have you ever been to laascaanood or buuhoodle or even eastren and southren sanaag? be honest" Yes I have. After that declaration posted by SmithNwestern is signed by my uncle... He went to a Hargeisa jail for going to the Arta peace talks. You can guess who I am talking about if you know as much as you know about SS&H as you claim to know. And to be honest, i haven't been there lately. You say you have spoken to the people who live in this region but I am sure you haven't talked to all 600 000 of them. The point i'm trying to make here is that not everyone or 99.9% of people have the same opinion. Such figures exist only in Barre's Somalia where 99% vote for him. What you should do is say your opinion but you can't talk for other people that isn't fair to them, now is it?
  4. Sorry only the strikers and midfielders count for me. Roger Milla (Cameroun - oldest player to play in world cup?) Ruud Gullit (Nederland - just an amazing star) Maradonna (Argentina - may be a crack head but damn he can play the game) Pele (Brazil - simply the best player ever) Romario (Brazil - why not add more brazilian flava) Ronaldo (Brazil - everybody knows this guy) Roberto Baggio (Italy - too bad he missed the penalty kick in the final - world cup 94) Zidane (France - the new hottness) Kanu (Nigeria - remember the olympic - ATL - Brazil & Argentina beaten by this african team)
  5. Guraad, are you speaking for all of them people or what. I think in reality the region is split between punt, sland, and the republic, and ofcourse, there are some who want a seperate state.
  6. definately a BAD move, especially in these times of uncertainty as to whether the somali nation will split up or stay united ... but one suggestion for dhiigshiil though, why not make the 26th of june a holiday in the north and keep july 1st as a holiday in the south... or make both days a holiday. in my opinion both days should be a holiday in all of somalia whether one country or more!
  7. Somalia will play Ghana for the 2006 world cup qualifying. This is also for the Africa Nations cup qualifying.
  8. Cameroun gor to the final beating Brazil earlier but wasn't able to beat France. match report: http://www.fifa.com/en/comp/event/match,1045,2003,b,z,16.html
  9. Remember Latinos are also part of the Hip hop culture.
  10. You're absolutely right. They don't know how to present themselves. 80% of these so-called leaders are very ignorant.
  11. There should be a limit to how qabiil is discussed but there's no reason whatsoever to cencor out qabiil names. A person should be able to mention etc in their posts, as long as no qabil is being disrespected. [ June 21, 2003, 06:30 PM: Message edited by: Admin ]

  13. i'm not sure about edmonton but as you said calgary is packed... i know many people that moved there myself... for work and stuff. PS you only have to pay 7% in tax there. isn't that cool?
  14. of course not. maybe if it was a pic of a girl, i might have found it interesting but a guy? wlc to SOL
  15. I did all that for my EX-wife but she left me anyways, after two weeks!!! Just kidding. seriously no one is that perfect. peace
  16. this Sheikh got one thing wrong though. 'Saddam Hussein should have accepted a call from the United Arab Emirates last month to resign in order to prevent war, he said.' whether Saddam left or not, Iraq would have been attacked either way.
  17. 1. Mohamed Suldan Timacadde 'dugsi ma leh qabyaaladi, waxay dumiso mooyee' - i love that poem 2. Ahmed Ibrahim (Ahmed Garan or Gurey) - by the way, was he somali or not - some say his mother was somali and his father was an ethiopian priest. - but he still gets a spot on my list since he did so much for the somali cause. 3. Sayid Mohamed Abdulle Hassan - was a little crazy but - has a good place in somali history
  18. plant a starter bomb in his 'ugly car' as soon as he turns on the ignition, his car explodes. if you need to know how, just ask!!!!

  21. Caano Geel. Thanks a lot for offering to help me. This was just a one-time assigment I did on Robots but i'm not really planning to get into this field. I'm more geared towards communications. Are you working as an electrical engineer?

  23. This is my favorite somali group. their songs are tight but they're a bit slow releasing new work. Usually 3 to 4 years between albums... i guess they have to get a day-time job. anyways to get back to the point, i don't know their whereabouts but you can try the Somali Hall of Fame in Toronto. that's the store that releases their albums phone number: (416) 244-9998
