There has been no major clashes over the Range/Africa Oil deal. On the contrary most of the clashes in Puntland Somalia stem from the lack of resources. There is not enough money to support the state, pay salaries and create a functioning bureaucracy. The naysayers, and fiction peddlers are afraid of the advantage Puntland would gain, but the benefits for the common Somali outweigh any such fears. Also Puntland is not a conflict area, it’s a peaceful region and the areas which the exploration and hopefully exploitation will take place are among the safest in the state.
