General Duke replied to NASSIR's topic in Politics
Whats with all the fuss people, no one seems to want to recognise Somaliland, the question here is why? All you are doing is giving emotive arguments. Ngoong, Mujahid-Snm and others here give us the answer to why no one recognises Somaliland, not even Djibouti & Ethiopia? -

It seems like a good idea to link the arab world and Africa, but will the price tag seems too expensive, but all engineering feats cost. Go for it.

Khalaf asked an interesting question, what will be of the TFG after Yusuf? There are many able leaders within the Parliment and Somalia to take the helm and move the country forward, yes Yusuf took much risk and many unpopular moves, which in turn have paid off but the TFg would not vanish with him leaving the scene. I think it as an entity is bigger than the man or even some of his closest group. Anyhow the system as it is the next President will be from Mogadishu or Hargaysa, that will no doubt bring some relief from some quarters. Khalaf on the point about a rossy situation, that was in relation to security situation of Mogadishu, the other flaws will no doubt linger for a long time.

African Union Shuts the Door of Recognition to Somaliland
General Duke replied to NASSIR's topic in Politics
The AU is not sovereign: it does not and cannot, therefore, grant diplomatic recognition. It is a club for 53 African sovereign states, and a new country can be admitted as a member, not only if it is African, but also if recognized as sovereign by half the membership of the Organization. So what will they do now, since no one is going to recognise them? -
^^^Closed you ever been to the truth is Abdullahi is the only hope that Somalia has, simply a man with integrity, a man with lion heart

Duke's answer to when will Mogadishu security imrpove???????
General Duke replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
^^^Saxib you are the one comparing the lord to some organisations, thats you saxib. The Ethiopians are not controled by you, they will leave and have no reaosn to stay, nor will the Ugandans, Nigerians and others stay. The AU force will help, train our new army, and so far so good, the war has been quite easy and the insurgency well, non existant. As for Somaliland, it will have to face that there has been a paradign shift in Somalia. -
^^^The constitution allows it saxib. That was debated and agreed upon in Kenya by all factions. Hence no one has a problem with it thus far.
-
^^^Pardon whats in the constitution?

^^^Matthias Platzeck (born 29 December 1953) is a German politician. He has been Minister-President of Brandenburg since 2002 and party chairman of the SPD from November 2005 to April 2006. Whats in a word, saxib, Minister President, governor, premair, president.. What matters is that title actually works in Somalia. Quite well. We will have five states insluding Somaliland, and Puntland all will have local President elected by their locals and all working under the Federal government headed by the Presidnet and head of state of Somalia. Simple really.

Things will get better the AU forces are coming and will stay for six months forget the Ethiopians they are already heaidng home. Who will remain a fully functioning Somali governemnt with teeth, a Federal Somalia of equals. And Somaliland will have to realise this, the sooner the better.. Blame Ethiopia all you like a stable Somalia poses a big dilema for the secesionists more than anyone else. -
^^^You welcome saxib, one can look at Germany, Günther Hermann Oettinger (born October 15, 1953 in Stuttgart) is a German politician from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU). He has been Minister President of Baden-Württemberg since 2005. While at the Federal level. Government Federal Republic - President Horst Köhler - Chancellor Angela Merkel [PM] So why can Somalia not use titles like President for states that choose their won leaders?
-
^^^President of Puntland state, is an appropriate term, the President of Somaliland and so on, however there is one President of the Federal State. No confusion saxib, in this term State president are used in place of governors. Nothing wrong with that. Its a choice that we make an which makes sense.. Thus Somaliland can keep her local President who will be a subordinate of the Federal Presidnet. Simple really.

^^^You said that Baidoa would be captured and guess who got chased out? Now you predict this, its a good omen for the TFg.. When ever you speak from your heart the oppsoite happens, just dont laugh when the "resistance" bombs some of your relations homes, these boys can not aim as told by Waagacusub.com Dhabtu waxay tahay Muqaawimadu waxay isu bedeshay Marqaan doon iyo mintidiin jaahila, sidaas daraadeed waa mid liita macaashka Muqdisho ka curtay outch -

Mujahid-SNM, wait for it son, Mogadishu and the rest fell, now its time for the pacification of the country and then the reconciliation between the Federal republic and its North Western regions, insha Allah things will get better. A new dawn is here. -
^^^Mujahid-SNM, forgets that Cade, Riyaale are regional presidents like Minnestota, and Yusuf is the Federal President of the whole republic, since Somaliland is not recognised one must put their position with those of Puntland's. Yusuf is the leader of the whole.
-
^^^Riyaale is good for Somalia as a whole, if he continues his policies, it will do wonders for us all.

So shelling the Mogadishu civilians and their death is something to celebrate. I thing you are losing it this time. You are here to be funny that was not. -
^^^Corruption is a problem in every organisation, Puntland, Somaliland and the national governemnt, there are things that can be done to stem its flow. But its a reality and I never pretend it is not a problem. However its not alleged but a fact that Xasan Dahir, IndaCade and others occupied lower Shabbele and that Abukar Cadaan traded in Charcoal from his base in Ceel Macan which is now closed. Dont pick and choose saxib, I have little faith in Clan Courts and secesionists, and would always want to improve the national government and thus own up to some of its faults.

^^^Saxib what got into you, all of sudden, you are making no sense, the TFG is standing regardless of what any seceionist hater says, the TFG has enough competent people. You will be suprised to see the changes coming. The country is clam, there is violence in Mogadishu but not at any scale comparing to the mini-war we had at the end of 2006. -
Djibouti wants to be the base for the US-Africa command..
General Duke replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
^^^I beg your pardon, however no desperation from our side saxib, the clan courts are gone and the obsticle remaining is the arms they gave back to the clan warlords and thugs. The biggest obsticle is reconstruction and setting up the admin and kick starting the economy. However the hypocracy of the clan courts supporters never seizes to suprise even me. They are still talking. -

^^^Saxib you are goinga round in circles. The fact that the TFG controls the country and is soon to disarm all clans is coming as a chick to you. The Oromo, Eritrean and their armour is yesterdaym today we have to disarm some gands holed up in the capital. I did not get your last point, who is a drop out? -
^^^lol. Thats a great point there mate, however the complete reponse went like this... "TFG corruption is a fact I wont deny, however one should not hide the facts that the so called alternative [clan courts] had many who lived in looted properties, traded from charcoal and even where allegedly drug traders."
