  1. LOL Bob. You remind me of this character in 'Little Britain' the only thing missing from your speech is 'yeah but yeah'...
  2. November child and I am proud to say I am 26.
  3. I wonder if there are any somali ladies in the red district light of Amsterdam.
  4. MX renting is definitely a waste of your income; you are paying someone else’s mortgage! Lakiinse without willing tenant such as you property investments would not be so profitable. I have been to few property shows and there were some unusual projects offered. In Germany there is this scheme whereby the freeholder of a block of flats is selling properties to investors. The incentive of buying into this scheme is that you gain tenants with the purchase. Currently there is this project in Las Vegas where instead of the traditional off-plan purchase, you buy an Option. You are required to put down about 10.5% deposit of the property value. Upon completion, you have the option to buy the property at a discounted price or if you do not wish to buy the developers will return your deposit plus any increases in the value of the property, i.e. up to 70% of the original price. The beauty of this investment is that it is low risk hence even if the property decreases in value you still get your initial deposit returned. I think that Easter Europe looks promising since most of the mentioned countries are emerging markets. Lakiinse as an investor you have to look for the most ideal location to purchase your property for instance in Bulgaria I am informed that Bansko is the place and for Hungary Budapest is the hotspot. You want to make sure that if this is a buy to let investment that you purchase in an area where property prices are reasonable and there is a healthy rental returns. Ideally your investment should pay for the mortgage and there should be a potential growth in property price. What about the UK property market, I am talking about outside London such as Liverpool and Manchester. Is anyone contemplating in purchasing there? Cambaaro, walaal I too heard that Morocco is attracting a horde of investors I was sceptic at the time lakiinse I see I was haste in my dismissal. Believe or not South Africa is also making its mark.
  5. LX- that's quite harsh, there is no need to insult. CC- walaal your problem is lack of confidence in yourself or perhaps you suffer of vanity. You would be naive to think that these products (bleaching your skin) will give you lasting beauty. Again beauty is not limited to the complextion of your skin nor should you follow the act of others. So what if their are lighter than you! Honestly, I have relatives who use these products and to their downfall they gradually losing their natural facial beauty and this is financial disabling them. Plus isn't haram to bleach yourself.
  6. I wonder if any of you guys are into property investments or perhaps you work within this field. If so please lets hear of your view for instance where do you believe property hotspots to be or what type of risks would you recommend one to beware of when building a portfolio. I hear that Eastern Europe (Bulgaria, Hungary and Poland) is currently popular with investors due to low property prices and joining the EU. There is also speculation that American in particular Las Vegas might be a catch for investment in particular for UK investors. UAE is also popular although I believe that this market is quite over rated. I think that the price of rent is likely to decrease in the next 5 years due to supply=demand. Albeit the reverse might be true and property prices might actually stay high making Dubai the Hong-Kong of the Middle East. Well that’s my piece for now but more importantly what are your experiences or views. PS-Please be honest in your views.
  7. Masha Allah, more employment for dadka. I also heard shirkad sabun or clay, I think will open soon either Hargeisa or Burco. Can one buy shares, I wonder.
  8. Too much of ‘abaayo iyo abowee macaan’ seems very fake at best and doqonimo iyo shileecnimo at worst. Albeit 'naya waa nagta iyo waarya niinko’ is just as worse. Much more romantic to say huno iyo walaal marka koof aad laheesawisid.
  9. Perhaps your sense of humour is in dire need of polishing. Be a good boy and go find yourself something beside dumar to amuse yourself after all the poor creatures have enough on their plates without your sarcasms. PS- No provocation was intended just pointing the obvious.
  10. For me, it has to be Magol (Ilahi aa uu naxaristee) iyo Sahra (I think that's her name) she was in the ruwayad 'Habloy gorma kuursan dontiin'. Do not know the full lyrics but my favourite song of hers had something along the lines 'baahsono...xiidla heey igu bahiin'.
  11. Blimey, why a negative perception of both women and marriage. Niinyo, you must be khalkhal to assume that every woman is out to get you meagre shillings. Ruuntii marriage might not always be rosy but it is a much better option to bachelorhood. Care to point out the funny part of this joke, unless it is at the expense of dumaar!
  12. According to whom is the lizard a jinni's wife or is it simply a Somali folktale to scare kids from wondering into the bushes and droping into a ceel. What about dhaqdheer, that definitely scared me as a kid. Did she is ever exist?
  13. Apart from the odd ones but most guys would probably fall under more than 1 category. Honestly, not all women would categorise the men that they socialise with under those groups and the ‘Nice guy’ might hold more to some of us than ‘The loafer. What a bias view of women you have Mr LX.
  14. Surely, no danbii is committed by the consumer where s/he is misinformed by the seller. Fortunately supermarkets such as Asda and Tesco are now selling halal products hence one can complete the household shopping under one roof rather than also undertaking a trip to the local market or halal shop for meat.
  15. J since you initiated this thread, care to come up for training courses tailored solely to men. And no bull&hits about them not in need of any, after all they are as imperfect as women.
  16. J that's real funny and mostly accurate. When do the courses start, I like to register few people.
  17. Isn’t abeeso a snake that sucks blood and sleeps a lot? NG, I’ve came across a snake on my recent visit to Dalaaxo, a small village near Burco. Lakiinse it was dead and on my arrival maas dheer baa xor ordeey our gadhi! That village was the city of snakes, if one ever exists. Every area was full of snakes and musacageleey holes. Going toilet in the bushes was a complete nightmare. Not all snakes are docile some do attack without provocation after all they need to feed.
  18. It is quiet sad and obvious that he has no respect or affection towards your friend. It is also understandable and natural that your friend is not heeding your advice. Although we might be astounded about her idiocy and naïveté, we have to bear in mind that it is a different matter when you have feelings for that person. Even the best of us can fall prey to our misguided heart. I know it is frustrating to see your friend going through this ordeal but until she is ready to let go, the situation would remain. It might not be obvious but it does help having a good friend at your side hence do continue advising and supporting her. A suitable remedy would be to erase him from her life through deleting his contact details and even changing her number(s) so that he would find it difficult to communicate with her. In addition, perhaps she needs a distraction, such as she should go on holiday (it does help) or even take up a new hobby. On a note, I believe since he did not obtain what he wanted at the beginning of the relationship, for instance moving the relationship to the next level without matrimony it was a better option to lay his cards on the table in the hope that she would believe him to be genuine about her. If he honestly cared for her knowing how she felt towards him, he would not have permitted his ex-fiancé to reside with him.
  19. Snow in London is a disaster for commuters. It was a losing battle this morning not to fall and not to miss the bus and be late for work. Albeit this was a safer option than the storm we had few days ago. Ibtisam if you are eager for snow perhaps you ought to travel or emigrate to countries were it snows well i.e. Canada.
  20. It all bodes down to confidence, I do not see what's so revealing in wearing a swimming costume be that a bikini? That's in front of other women you all have the same body items albeit in differing sizes! You go there to swim not eye the bodyshape of your fellow swimmer! In addition, swimming is good for you hence why swim in discomforting items such as diraax just so to please others rather than yourself.

    Love ( Jaceyl)

Masha Allah walaal. To profess and mean such feeling for your creator is truly beautiful. Lakiinse although trivial isn't correct to say that one can only love Allah and not be in love with him.
  22. Why can't there a simple answer to everything! For instance can a woman travel abroad without a muxrim. A yes or no would suffice rather than multiple conflicting opinions. Why am I contributing to this thread?
  23. I am not quite certain about Central London, in SW few swimming pool are open to women only at certain times although the lifeguard tend to be men. Not much use there.
  24. Zu, congrats to you and the madam. Cajayiib, SOL is becoming more of a blind date zone. On a note I get the son/daughter blessing but what’s with the milk?

    Sushi

Val Depends on which restaurant you go to but cooked and served in the right way oysters and mussels are quite yammy. Not a big fan of sushi myself, although I am told that the seaweed is actually good for you healthwise.
