    I feel HOMESICK

sxb i have that feeling everyday. everyday i walk out of my house, drive, use the public roads, have a glimpse at the gigantic posters and building, grocery stores, libraries, and observe the calmness and coolness of pedestrians that are crossing the road, i only wish for one thing. why couldn't this roads, houses, and buildings be in Somalia. just the other night, on the road, accompanied by friend, we drove by a lake. danbiga gadaashiis, i saw the same things you saw. at one moment the friend looked at me and asked how much i liked the view and lake, i said i could have enjoyed more and would have meant more to me if this was back home. but what the Jannah, lets have a good time.
  2. Originally posted by Intuition: You have an over active imagination and a confused sex drive . No insults intended this is just the feeling you’ve left me after reading your post. sxb, thanks for the advice and suggestion. Aniga, I never hate when people tell you what they really see (I have always looked things from the brighter side even during hard moments, conditions, and circumstances. Waa dhalasho, in the genes, from mama to papa ). It is when some people try to find nonexistent things that agitates me mostly out of fear, doubt, and the many other reasons that keeps haters moving. That is just my preface. You know I hate to write, because once I start I can't stop. It is uppity-jumpily in my head. and this leads part of my answer to your question. with so much to express, find, point to, and tell, you really have to negotiate what is permissible, presentable, appropriate, etc. as a SOL student (part-time ), I am also learning how some people use and cross that line to tell and re-tell their stories. That is y much of my posting has been supplemental than instrumental. Picking out things I like than what is actually asked to analyze. I am kinda interested in how language is exploited, beautified, and used in different circumstances and settings. that is why my favorite Sol people are those that I feel fit that description, just to name a few; JLee, sheikh Nur, Xiinfiniin, MMA, Shaah, and I Believe I Can Fly (FBI-IC). don’t get it twisted, i like others for other reasons as well, time will tell . sxb, in short, imagination just tags along with me as i write stuff, i don't know what the boundaries are for it to be classified as over active or inactive. to restrain myself, i take breaks at some intervals in which one has just started  the second part (confused sex drive) is partially true. i guess i need to cut down on that if it is being noticed that much. you are right, i tend to be bias, towards using or magnifying to almost glorifying sexual aspects and dealings in some of my posts, making indirect references as well as direct ones. It is kind of something I am actually realizing (well, everything is not planned ). i don’t know why they stick out or why i picked them, or even where that tendency and litany comes from. i guess it started out as a joke at the beginning, and have turned into a habit, attitude. Though i know there will be times where i will make some kind of references to it in one form or another, it should never be as redundant as in the past. One thing is for sure, we tend to shy away from life problems that stem or are related to sexuality, addressing it when needed is essential and shunning or sidelining will never solve it. I realized as well that I might be harming my sisters with implicit sexual references whom i believe are already modest, islamically&traditional dressed, etc. This tanaasul is ultimately for them. don't arm wrestle me if it takes time to actually realize it. Me, sxb nice take on the topic. i am glad you understand what i was talking about. i don’t know why a sister that seems to be older isn't blamed for her actions, and instead the young fella, is blamed for starting every thing and held responsible for what obviously started with that sister. she changed the conversation from 'do this and that' to 'how big is your house...is there room for the both of us..' you also got what i meant by commitment. The paradox is that you might like someone but because of our rigid culture, end the relationship because of a simple thing as age. Over the years, as a direct result of this, and I am sure many would classify with this as well; I have come to internalize that concept. If it really got me choked up and i was in love with the sister as she was with me, the most I can tolerate is one year difference, and will accept two calaa dirqi. anyways, Me, i liked your story. it is interesting, glad you got it going on, like the 'extend her contract' wording. it can't be extended cuz it has already been cut loose. we departed. it was not ground breaking, i retained the relationship to where it belonged from the start. she had no hurt feelings, i told here what it would mean for the two of us and how much of that will actually come back to haunt us in the long run. from day one, i knew age would be the problem, but someone tried to defy gravity. to her it was love, to me, she was a devote and interesting friend, co-worker, employee, a fellow countrywomen, etc. Sharmarkee, Adeer ma aniga baad I leedahay gabdhaha baad u sheekeysaa oo aad ka sheekeysaa, after sharing such a close-to-my-heart sheeko. For real, I don’t do that. that is disgusting. Never pass what is trusted onto you. This sheeko for many reasons was short-lived. I am surprised with how short the time was and memorable it turned out to become. Waterlily, You are sure wise, cuz I told her lets keep it pro., and ‘what is love got to do with Xamaali’
  3. Minnesota on the lead again. we are always on that front page of every Somali success story. bravo to my city, its people, and the things they do. givin and keepin it alive. I would like to see these programs extended to other areas, especially, places like Somaliland, and other relatively peaceful areas. This only shows how much the diaspora can do. how we can be part of the solution, and not the problem. this is a positive development that shows few brave individuals that are not giving and collecting monies for warlords and other ill-intended schemes and maneuvers. but advancing a cause that can ultimately be the groundworks for peace, understanding, and development.

    Cutting Costs.

This would be an interesting experiment sh. Nur. i am afraid if they can't let this happen in a place as far as Somalia, it would be close to impossible to test in Brooklyn, New York. One thing is true, if the UIC stopped a non-sense, family-based, world-run war, qaat, qurun, annihilation and hallucination policies and industry in Xamar that the international community long lost hope in. if the UIC turned that into what it is today, a boosting city, with the possibility of openning up its financial bases, rebuilding its infrastructure, training and demobilizing the militias, and constituting structural system of governance, law and order, as well as the opportunity of peace talks with the TFG. if the UIC can do that much in the poorest place in the world, they can sure do the same in the richest on in a heartbeat. Sh. Nur nice take on the topic. I like how you compared and contrasted the two systems, to come up with the final conclusion of your report. cutting hands might seem gruesome, but what people don't realize is that, first, it is used only as a deterrent, and second, one man's hand is also saving thousands and millions of other people who don't want to end up the same way.
  5. Indeed. a calm in Xamar after so many years of suffering. nice video/report

  7. Originally posted by Legend of Zu: ^^^^ Man..I dont gettit!..this whole story is too damn confusin..somethang aint right!.. Zu, i am just gonna pick you here, since you epitomize a wide spread confusion about the content of this love connection. I hope by doing this, it sheds light on many of the different parts of the story that some might find confusing. i just don't see what is so perplexing about it. and here is why. Jilci warka waa isku dhex yaacisay? the story is only as confusing as jacayl, if jacayl wasn't as complex, it would have been as stright forward as some of the commentaries in the daily news section, sports, etc. I wasn't interested, .......i called for calmness and diligency. ^^^ ok..a girl who you are not interested but likes you..I gettit..but then you are the one calling for calmness and diligency? and you are the younger fella with fun in his mind... are you sure it is not the other way round? that is she is young and you are the older? adeer don't get it twisted. that is the whole point, the older women loves the young fella. what, you never seen a young fella who is calm and restrained or calls for one or the other. i guess you are making that link between youth and fun as you would for old with responsibility. a valid point. but remember, just because something is common doesn't mean it is present in everything or everyone. My intention was not to dig up the sister, rush her to my home afterwards, and to exploiate her innocence. the sister started bringing special food for our lunch, some beautiful writings and comments scribbled with my name, small presents and gifts, and so on. she always talked about me, well guys i am not idle, i did as much as the sister on my part (though i am bit busier than normal). What is going on here? i dont understand she is tryin to bribe you here.. and apparently she talks about you...and how do you know she talks about you? to the other staff members? something is fishy here...we need more details here...moreover you are leading her on? is this where you omitted "am begining to like her too" which part of 'she always talked about me' don't you get, the 'she' or the 'me'. okay, she talked about me in front of me. is that enough evidence Mr. Zu plus, i only edit, not omit it is not that the sister was not my type, ok..now we know she is your type..hence the omitted comment... nope, you don't, cuz nothing was omitted it was just that time of the year, that you are not ready to commit to someone, you are already having fun as you are. Time of the year?...what is goin on here? pregnancy? is there something you are not telling us?....aaah..it is the fun part.... your painkiller comment at the end sure shines on this one cuz you are not only reading it upside down, but seems like you are reading two things at the same time. concentrate at a young age, i have learned, ..ok...here you are either the older one in the story or have alot of experience for a young fella! if we can flip this into a question, the latter is the answer that if a girl is constanly after you, retelling your story, have you in her mind, and supports the good and the bad you do, they said it is no longer called love, but a level that is above it. ..ok...there is something above love that is kinda of love..just a higher level...do we have proof for this? who said it, BTW? common sense said so, for real, no one famous i persume. Zu you are just looking for names obviously, this girl was on that level; i don't know how she climbed that high or who helped her. dude..you helped her to climb high..but i dont know to which level! Buahahahaha some nights the sister agitated me by diving into a dark sea of troubles and serious topics, our closest hope was them fishes, and we couldn't even see them. what has fish to do with you two? ..i dont get it.. a valid point. your asking me why the tires of a car are black here. fish has nothing to do with us as much as 'diving into a dark sea' doesn't. it is an allegorical depiction of reality that describes that hope is no longer foreseable. nor traceable. other nights, she whined too much, reminding me of that now famous line, 'call the cops when you see Tupac' inside, i felt like she wanted to know more of me, that though i felt like everyone else, that she saw something special about me in how i talk, dress, and interact with people, and so on. ...ok..this is quite confusing unless i am missing something here.. her whining was becuz she wanted to know more of you? she is either talking shit.. or u didnt like the q's... Buhahahaa, Zu that was funny. i don't know man, have you ever been with someone that just talks, talks, and continues to talk endlessly, 'shit' isn't a bad word to describe that phenomena. to be honest, i like her as much, mystified and interested, ...aaah the omitted comment...how did I miss this..silly me..honestly.. you are getting there. you probably didn't finish the story in the first place. hahaha. but remember, here i didn't say i loved her as much, i only said i was interested enough to know her so that we can have something to talk about. though much apart as we might be (yep, yep, that is my chik). I always believed that age and distance are enemies of love, they are two great forces that can either bond or break hearts and end relationships. ..ok I agree with the distance but i am not sure of the age...again i thought "ignorance was the enemy of love?"...ooh well... adeer, i was talking about my story, not shakespeare. age was the problem in the relationship. i mean that is what broke the camel's back. from a cultural prespective and traditional sources, one can only be cared for one who is older than them. not the opposite. i hope this ends the confusion. thanks Zu for bringing the pain
  8. To Arawella and the others who haven't mastered the somali language yet. i have used the conventional method of translating, which i hope is not to translate word by word but by the content of the message. 'ahlan bik' [practice makes perfect] -ahlan 'arin baa iga guuxeysa, meel aan u dhigana garan mayo' [i have been thinking about something i can't find solution for] -haye [ok] 'qof baa igu waalan rabtee maxaan sameeyaa' [a woman is crazy about me, what should i do] -adigu ma ka heshaa [do you like her] 'allaa og' [allah knows] -makaa sheekeysaa [does she talk about you] 'ma sheekaa mise shaleyto' [she not only talks about me but..'shaleyto' xaraf ingriis ah baaban u waayay, saamax] -ma ku taageertaa [does she support you] 'taageero bas maa hane waxaa kaaga daran talada iyo waanada isdaba qiiqaya, in ey qaar u dhintaa baaba hadeer laga cabsi qabaa' [not only does she support me, but her offering of constant advice i am afraid is so redundant/loud that some might die of it] -suuradeeda ma ku qanacday [do you like how she looks] 'baabu-towba koley waa maftuux, laakiin ma labis muuqaal fiicna, waa arin laga talin karo' [the door of repentance is open, even that said, she does not dress well, but i can discuss that with her] -ma isku darajaad tihiin [are you on the same level] 'allaa og, laakiinse da'du waa cadow, hadii ey taasi nakala saarin, waa la faayin' [Allah knows, you know age is enemy, if that is not the issue, than we should be fine] -maxaad ka taqaanaa shaqsiyaadkeeda [what do you know of her personality] 'in ey kulushahay baan u maleyn, fudeyd ku jiro, fikri badan oo qalaad ey xambaarsantahay, jahwareer maadi ah ku jiro... laakiinse taas waa laga sal gaari karaa' [i think she is tempered, light-headed, opinionated, and little bit confused...but even that, we can find a solution] -kaalay adigu wax walba ma xal baad u heysaa [let ma ask, do you have solution for everything] 'wixii aan da' aheyn' [unless it is age] -mar walba ma ajiibtaa [do you answer her all the time] 'maya' [no] -maxaa dhacay [why] 'marna waa i dhaafaan, marna mashquul baan ahay' [at times i miss what she is saying, others, i am busy] -maxaad ku amaani kartaa [any compliments] 'karti iyo geesinimo, dareen iyo wadaniyad, xilkasnimo iyo aqoon' [she is strong, nationalist, smart, and responsible] safkaan wixii aan ka tagay ama aan soo gaabiyey, saamax -waxa kuugu daran oo kaaga imaan kara waa maxay [any fears] 'in arinteenu saameyso shaqada iyo shaqaalaha' [our dealings to pass on to the work and workers]
  9. ^i apologize for writing it that way. its regional variation. have you seen how smooth and great MMA and others write. mine is like walking through the forest. the words are also kinda short, making it even harder. Arewello, here is the thing, I know there are nomads who can do the translation better than I, i will give them the chance to do (any volunteers, Xiinfiniin and Xoogsade, MMA are great ones ). if no one will, i will try my best. i chose somali cuz if i did it the other way it was gonna take some time. Rudy, what is Dr. Phil's number? somebody is got to do it, represent Somalia Tyjwania and Xoogsade, the girl was not very old. but you know how age is with our people. girls go for the old, boys for the opposite. it is that hebel ku dhali karaa ku dhiqi kara, ku daryeeli karoo, kaa masuul noqon kara culture. if this last statement is correct, it would have been impossible for me, with my age, to care for someone who is already assigned to care for me instead. hadii eydan igula talineyn maxaad iska biya-biyeysan weyd markaad xalaashatid ka bacdi, meesha gabar-yar ma joogin, shan farood baa noo dhaxeysay, intaasna waa inta laga tasbiixsado qofta was an amazing gal, you couldn't tell how old she was unless you really looked at her or talked with her about it. our ending was not the best. she had expected so much and i had so little to offer. age
  10. dadqalato wlc, who will it be this time. yaa la daldalin. the people who have done the most in the last weeks. buahahahah (Zu inanta ma isla computer baad isticmaashaan, waa inika isku marka soo dagtee) waxaa la yiri aduunyada mar waxaa imaan doonta beenloowgu uu runlow ahaan doono, runlooguna beenloow. Shaah, bal horta fadlan koobkeeyga markaan ii soo cadee, kii hore jiraaban ka qaadaye, inkastoo aad wax ii soo maleegtay, hadana geerida allaa haya plus, rabshad badanidaa, y can't you leave the new fellas alone so that they can express their views. I know we are seniors and all, but someone is not a nomad yet or has less than 50 posts doesn't mean they are any less than we are
  11. and here i thought Modesty sisters never date. life full of surprises. couple of months ago i posted the now famous "The Single National Anthem" to see how people will respond to a lonely Faraax who has the will but not the means for marriage. their was alot of things i was kinda playing around with at the time. well, everything is got to have a purpose. thuma atbacaa sababaa. my thing was to test alot of different things by simplying posting those long and archerous list of wants and needs, halfs and half-nots. the first thing was to see the perception of how people will percieve someone who wants to get down 'halaal' but lacks some of the financial needs to satisfy that goal. doesn't the quran say that it is better to be with a poor mumin/muminaat than a rich kaafir/kaafirah. i just want to see what some of the intellectual minds in SOL thought of that . The second one was to show how material obsessed we have become over the years. that someone's value is not by virtue of how strong his iman is, or their moral values and principals, and thier manhood, but strickly on what one drives or possesses. the third reason was to show that relationships are mutual. every member must contribute to the cause. not to hijack the thread and to kinda tie it with the topic, i posted that anthem because i wanted to make it clear that marriage requires more thinking and planning than we are accostumed to. marriages should not be done in a hurry. getting it done early might cause it to end abruptly. some faraax over the years have internalized that just because they have Toyota and rent a public housing means they have all the means to get married without having a secure job or really taking the time to think through what they are getting into. the moral of the story is to stay single unless you know you will be better off married than single, look at your watch, if its right, its time. i have seen more happy couples than sad ones in my life. i guess having good friend pays off. afterall, you are your friend.
  12. in the midst of many things, few importnat things are disregarded. and love is one of them. A job I worked at taught me more than i could bear. As usual, I would go there and do my job as required. our department had about two Somali girls, two boys, and the rest were Americans. I trained with a somali sister at my station. I got to know her a bit. i wasn't interested, but my intention was to get to know her just about enough so that we can have something to talk about every other day we meet. somehow, as we worked more with each other, she wanted to take the converstation more than it warranted. to continue and take it to another level. as i am, i called for calmness and diligency. the sister started bringing special food for our lunch, some beautiful writings and comments scribbled with my name, small presents and gifts, and so on. she always talked about me, well guys i am not idle, i did as much as the sister on my part (though i am bit busier than normal ). it is not that the sister was not my type, it was just that time of the year, that you are not ready to commit to someone, you are already having fun as you are. at a young age, i have learned, that if a girl is constanly after you, retelling your story, have you in her mind, and supports the good and the bad you do, they said it is no longer called love, but a level that is above it. obviously, this girl was on that level; i don't know how she climbed that high or who helped her. some nights the sister agitated me by diving into a dark sea of troubles and serious topics, our closest hope was them fishes, and we couldn't even see them. other nights, she whined too much, reminding me of that now famous line, 'call the cops when you see Tupac' inside, i felt like she wanted to know more of me, that though i felt like everyone else, that she saw something special about me in how i talk, dress, and interact with people, and so on. to be honest, i like her as much, mystified and interested, though much apart as we might be (yep, yep, that is my chik). I always believed that age and distance are enemies of love, they are two great forces that can either bond or break hearts and end relationships. i felt she always whined cause she lost touch with nature. that she needed someone to calm her, to talk to her after a long day of work (oops we work in the same place). someone oo u salaaxo her in the back, look directly through her eyes, and say 'you know what, today was a great day, you did it'. to cease her worries and discuss her concerns intimately, deeply, and friendly. someone to assure her life is not only about troubles and struggles, but can also be costumized to be fun and challenging. one day my phone rang, i picked it up, it was one of my trusted friends on the other line; 'ahlan bik' -ahlan 'arin baa iga guuxeysa, meel aan u dhigana garan mayo' -haye 'qof baa igu waalan rabtee maxaan sameeyaa' -adigu ma ka heshaa 'allaa og' -makaa sheekeysaa 'ma sheekaa mise shaleyto' -ma ku taageertaa 'taageero bas maa hane waxaa kaaga daran talada iyo waanada isdaba qiiqaya, in ey qaar u dhintaa baaba hadeer laga cabsi qabaa' -suuradeeda ma ku qanacday 'baabu-towba koley waa maftuux, laakiin ma labis muuqaal fiicna, waa arin laga talin karo' -ma isku darajaad tihiin 'allaa og, laakiinse da'du waa cadow, hadii ey taasi nakala saarin, waa la faayin' -maxaad ka taqaanaa shaqsiyaadkeeda 'in ey kulushahay baan u maleyn, fudeyd ku jiro, fikri badan oo qalaad ey xambaarsantahay, jahwareer maadi ah ku jiro... laakiinse taas waa laga sal gaari karaa' -kaalay adigu wax walba ma xal baad u heysaa 'wixii aan da' aheyn' -mar walba ma ajiibtaa 'maya' -maxaa dhacay 'marna waa i dhaafaan, marna mashquul baan ahay' -maxaad ku amaani kartaa 'karti iyo geesinimo, dareen iyo wadaniyad, xilkasnimo iyo aqoon' -waxa kuugu daran oo kaaga imaan kara waa maxay 'in arinteenu saameyso shaqada iyo shaqaalaha'
  13. A day after a 1da Luulyo, we the Somali people, have nothing tangible to celebrate, something to be actually proud of. We can’t achieve or aspire to the same things that every individual anywhere in the world wishes for; a safe place, school, a house, and the many tiny bitsy things that come and go in life under our own turf. It has only been 15 years since Afweyne collapsed, though many have brandished and tarnished his 21 brutal and dictatorial rule, no one has actually brought anything better to the table, if there was the possibility, it was never given a chance to fully materialize. Someone always stood up (or raised their hand ) to argue, doubt, or find fault in power distribution, clan maneuvers, regional imbalances, individual advances, and the many ways to ruin the possibility of having a Republic that has a head of state, ministries, administrative capabilities, and local and regional power. The Embagathi wave was no different. It contained some of the bloodiest hands and some of the qabiilist individuals all there to argue and justify one qabiils superiority and kuraas over others in a foreign country that does not speak or understand our culture and language (it has always baffled me why we travel so far to talk to each other when we are 200km away from each other, reside in the same country, speak the same language, etc.). The uniqueness of the conference was also its weakness. Bringing all the warlords and important players was an obstacle to reaching a final decision on almost all the different stages of the peace conference from the 4.5 formula to the final stages of picking and naming. The candidates for the top position appeared in big numbers, but anyone, who follows Somali politics, knew that Yey had the best chance of all from the start. Not only was he clearly destined for that position, but he has worked towards that goal endlessly. His Puntland presidency almost sank and many times sacked due to the unconstitutionality of staying away such a long period from the state. There were numerous reports that also alleged that Yey used some of monies of the state to fund his own claim/reach to power. My point was not to recapture how the current government was formed, but through the many struggles and triumphs of the conference with the bakoorad bashing included, we finally have agreed to agree on a government that was deemed satisfactory and inclusive. The many years after its formation included long delays and stays in Nairobi, unsuccessful attempts in Xamar and Jowhar, to finally settle in Baydhabo. Though as irrelevant and weak as it might seem, the government still has a chance for once again to become an entity that can spread its wings throughout Somalia. I find unique features of this government that is unlike other ones. First, the government has a clear agenda in restoring peace. From its inception to now, the government has clearly stood by the same things it did when it started; foreign troops, staying away from Mogadishu, etc. Second, it is a reconciliatory one. It has taken a long time to actually get rid of the bad apples in Xamar only because it was best to give them time to think and rethink of their actions and its deleterious consequences (kaadi badshe waa loo gogol fidiyaa ). Also the government has tried everything to maintain all of its ministries and parliamentarians at all cost (though I couldn’t be right or wrong, I wouldn’t exclude a little handouts at times ). Third, the government seems to be both politically mature and stable. There seems to be political system that seems to give and separate powers for officials in terms of who can do what and what not (unlike that time when Qanyar appointed Qaybdiid for the police chief ). Though there was a heated debate and disagreement, and ultimately leading to the two camps in Mogadishu and Jowhar at the beginning, it seems a lesson has been learned, and there seems to emerge a greater appreciation and understanding of the different roles and responsibilities of the different ministries. This maturity also shows a government that is inclusive. We have seen how the government managed to keep key players involved such as Hussein Ceydiid, Barre Hiiraale, and others of such a stature. Even to an important extent, is the retention of the highest three officials of the government in one city. It must have taken a lot of effort and mind to have convinced each one of these individuals and almost all of the other parliamentarians to stay and work from one city considering how far apart some of the parliamentarians were just some months ago. Another area that the government is doing very well is also its international efforts abroad to get funding, support, recognition, assistance, and most importantly troops to Somalia. Not to elevate the government more than it deserves, it also has its weaknesses. The first of it is its inactivity in Somalia. The government has put all its eggs in one basket when it comes to this regard. A better balance would have been to both be active on the inside as much as they are on the outside. What you can’t do for your people, foreign troops will never. There seems to be a priority issue. If the government is truly for the people, it should also put some efforts in involving them in the process. A good way would be to set up regional and local government offices throughout the country to open a communicative channel that the populace can pass their views and opinions about what is happening. The other thing is how the government handles some issues, most importantly the UIC victory in Somalia. Rather than applaud this tremendous effort, the government displayed its fear towards the new group and in many occasions prejudging negatively and prematurely the UIC efforts. Maybe a proper response would have been to actually seize the opportunity to befriend them, and figure some kind of a system that would both satisfy the UIC and TFG. The UIC’s election of Aweys wouldn’t make this matter any better nor will Cabdullahi’s allegation that the UIC might be of a worst threat than the warlords. The good news is that, for the first time in the last 15 years, the only powers in the south seems to swirl between the UIC and TFG. Together they can make peace or produce a war. Our hope clinches on which way they lean so that we can either rock with it or run from it. like we have heard in the past two years, may the third year be the real one that brings peace and prosperity
  14. oooh yeeea, France is the team to watch. Great team. the rest should be a walk in the park.

  17. Sh. Nurow, i was more tuned with your preface than with the actual news you used on your report, only because the former seemed to me not more valid or less but specific in terms of the double standards the West uses when it comes to muslims and Islam in particular. the latter although gruesome and informational is I think a problem that is preventable, much of it lying with the shipping countries, and the rest with the recieving ones. I think the girls that find themselves in these situations are mostly from soviet blocks, third world and poorer countries around the world. more search of an opportunity, perhaps a better life, has forced them to take high risks in far places. Sometimes it is just matter of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. I am very smpathatic towards those who were tricked into it. Afterall, no one expects to be handicuffed on their first day of work. The Delimma for Liberalism is how to clarify the thin line between the individual choice of a woman/girl to have sex and have sex and get paid Labo daran mid dooro! i think Islam has a better alternative, sh. Nur can elaborate on that.
  18. Happy 46th birthday Somalia! Ha Noolaato I wonder if the happiness, emotions, aspirations, dreams, and smiles on the minds and faces of those people who celebrated the first year of independence could ever be restored. never say 'never.' hadeer dowlad islaam ah baaba noo soo socota. 19. interesting, One night after an Cisha prayer, i caught up with some friends. during the chit chatting, some laughs, stories, and happenings, I spotted one guy who was quietly taparing with a laptop he had, busy as we were, sitting at the other end of the mosque. it was interesting that none of us really noticed him until we were all through, and decided to go home. i remembered the guy was a local somali business man who happens to have ran a growing maktabad business (this could have been anything else, like the 100 stores that sell the same dhar, and still manage to listen to the BBC calaa waqtihaa ). surprised, i walked up to him and asked him how everything was going, especially in regards to his business. instantly, after the question, the guy started to give me couple of hints about investing, owning, and how to run your own business. the most important distinction this rather successful entrepreneur cautioned me about was not to have a business that is not designed after or for all people, that is well-thought, and includes close netted investors, friends, and collaborators. In short, we must think outside the box, and think in engaging/investing in businesses that reach beyond one ethnicity, community, etc. but I guess competition in a small growing local market hammered with a small community/costumer base forced the guy out of business. In a jokingly manner, since the guy was in a non-food business, I asked if he was suggesting that 'if the business is not hilib, it is not halal'. anyways, I was glad he had other things going on for him, and bringing his labtop to the mosque was enough to convince me he was on top of it. fa'idaa faraqta fansab
  20. Don't forget Paris, which has been playing very hard. Argentine would come on top of Germany, and France on top of Spain (work there way through the semifinals), so that, the final show comes down to: Argentine Vs. France

    Dubai

Soo Maal, this place is breath-taking. damn, sooner or later, i have to plan to travel there. the only bad thing is the weather, but with that many accessories and beauty, who cares what is outside. Nigeria would have been bit similiar if it had some of that emir mentality. UAE is truly an inspiring third country development success story. it shows the outcome when one is not only to rule a country, but also to be equipped with the knowledge and concern of its citizens. nice pictures
  23. madaxweynaha dowladda federaalka KMG ah ee Soomaaliya C/llaahi Yuusuf Axmed uu qorsheynayey ka hor inti aysan xukuumadu soo gudbin qorshaha ammaanka Qaranka in la diyaariyo mooshin xilka lagaga qaadayo ra’isul wasaare Cali Max’ed Geeddi rumors. this resignation thing combined with the differences/problems between Yey and Geedi are long and baseless. these rumors are as old as the TFG itself. to the contrary, i think both have come become friends and more accustomed to one another throughout the many challenges, changes, travels, and conferences they have endured together during their tenure. at the end, they will both lose or gain.
  24. clashes/conflicts are inevitable between the locals and the troops/PL militia in Baydhabo. the most important thing is not how it can be stopped altogether as much as it is being resourceful enough in solving them when they arise, preferrably in a peaceful manner. but what is amazing is how conflicts whether minor or major are used/expressed in different news outlets. its only that after reviewing different channels can one truly be objective, or perhaps get a glimpse of truth. One thing I know is shabelle.com isn't the best one out there, and certainly not the worst. they are serving their interest as much as any other site, though at times it does take it to the extreme. I hate when they display pictures and comment below them such remarks as: hebel oo indhahaa xiran ' ' ' asaga oo dhulka yaala ' ' ' xabbadii oo lagu bilbilayo ^i don't know what good this is doing, but it must be very important to shabelle.com
