  15. Because ppl are not as informed as they need to be about thier health they sometimes makes things worse for themselves by not taking them seriously....wheather its from shame or ignorance...we have to learn how to arm ourselves with information and knowledge to battle this diseases.... Drug-resistant TB is caused by inconsistent or partial treatment, when patients do not take all their medicines regularly for the required period because they start to feel better, because doctors and health workers prescribe the wrong treatment regimens, or because the drug supply is unreliable. A particularly dangerous form of drug-resistant TB is multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB), which is defined as the disease caused by TB bacilli resistant to at least isoniazid and rifampicin, the two most powerful anti-TB drugs. From a public health perspective, poorly supervised or incomplete treatment of TB is worse than no treatment at all. When people fail to complete standard treatment regimens, or are given the wrong treatment regimen, they may remain infectious. The bacilli in their lungs may develop resistance to anti-TB medicines. People they infect will have the same drug-resistant strain. While drug-resistant TB is generally treatable, it requires extensive chemotherapy (up to two years of treatment) that is often prohibitively expensive (often more than 100 times more expensive than treatment of drug-susceptible TB), and is also more toxic to patients. Alot of third countries are suffering from the lethal combination of HIV and TB, each speeding the other's progress. HIV weakens the immune system. Someone who is HIV-positive and infected with TB is many times more likely to become sick with TB than someone infected with TB who is HIV-negative. TB is a leading cause of death among people who are HIV-positive. It accounts for about 13% of AIDS deaths worldwide. In Africa, HIV is the single most important factor determining the increased incidence of TB in the past 10 years.
  16. i believe its xalaal....and that is good, but we always hear about the health facts....i hope this helps.. This ARTICLE was written on this subject by DENISE GRADY and the head writer is one of my proff's. I am posting a few extracts: Contrary to widely held beliefs and longstanding taboos in America, first cousins can have children together without a great risk of birth defects or genetic disease, scientists are reporting today. They say there is no biological reason to discourage cousins from marrying. In the general population, the risk that a child will be born with a serious problem like spina bifida or cystic fibrosis is 3 percent to 4 percent; to that background risk, first cousins must add another 1.7 to 2.8 percentage points, the report said. Although the increase represents a near doubling of the risk, the result is still not considered large enough to discourage cousins from having children, said Dr. Arno Motulsky, a professor emeritus of medicine and genome sciences at the University of Washington, and the senior author of the report. "In terms of general risks in life it's not very high," Dr. Motulsky said. Even at its worst, 7 percent, he said, "93 percent of the time, nothing is going to happen." Dr. Motulsky said medical geneticists had known for a long time that there was little or no harm in cousins marrying and having children. "Somehow, this hasn't become general knowledge," even among doctors, he said.

  19. i read this book couple of years...and still stays on my mind.... The Trial by Franz Kafka....... , it was quite dark in humor.....but i though it was great..... Amazon.com A terrifying psychological trip into the life of one Joseph K., an ordinary man who wakes up one day to find himself accused of a crime he did not commit, a crime whose nature is never revealed to him. Once arrested, he is released, but must report to court on a regular basis--an event that proves maddening, as nothing is ever resolved. As he grows more uncertain of his fate, his personal life--including work at a bank and his relations with his landlady and a young woman who lives next door--becomes increasingly unpredictable. As K. tries to gain control, he succeeds only in accelerating his own excruciating downward spiral.
  20. no offense G&P....but it looks like u need to have someone censor u......if calling ppl names and belittling them is offensive and out of order.....then u shouldn't have the right to use the same words against them..... what is good for the goose, should do for the gander... ....bro, u should practice the tolerance u r preaching.... ... ps...i have never read a post where qacx2 and willo....said anything to deliberately offend, they are known for their outspokeness and bluntness but not outright rudness,.....it looks like u were offended cause thier views were diff. from urs....and used ur position to demolish them....none of us have to agree with thier positions or views but we all have to respect a person's right to express thier opinions especially in a forum ...what is it here for, if not our opinions and thoughts?....and i believe that we are all mature enough that we can all do it, with out disrespecting eachother....ok not all of us.....but most of us pss...i hope the term moderator isn't synonymous with dictator..... peace
  21. what happened to honesty ppl.... just tell him u r not interested and move on.... ...im not saying be hurtfull.....just do it in a diplomatic manner....and he will get the point....and leave....
  22. thank u'all for inspiring and waking up some slumbering minds.... Visions occupy my synaptic space Command and shake, to illustrate my mind's landscape The tall grass, the low plains, the mountainous ridges Thickets among the forests, rivers beneath the bridges Presence of hilltops, lit up with tree tops Eavesdrop and hear the incline of sunshine, nine Stones in orbit refuse to forfeit, they all form a circle, and they came to observe it I follow suit, and face it, embrace it Shinin bright, but still I am careful not to waste it Destined to rise, because I am basement adjacent Spirit is still, so just chill and be patient Some heads approach as if I am the one to base with clowns about to scream and shout but don't say shh... I ain't your student so I ain't to be tested I'm majestic; I represent my strength without effort My, method is unorthodox, but of course it rocks My serious synopsis will drop kick, my topics run the gauntlets and galvanize the audience I must represent, I don't come off with no corniness, It's all luminary, despite commentary Some people say, besbaaso how you get so?.. My sign will make you jump around like calypso And, murmur to yourself like a schizo There ain't no bottom on the ???..... i write like i breath, out of necessity....
