  1. To know deep down that I will be going to the highest level of Janah through hard work in this dunya for the sake of Allah (swt), amin.
  2. Assalamu Alaikum Let me begin by saying Masha-allah Sister Raxhma. I am glad that you posted this topic. It has given me some useful information to pass on to our lost sisters!. Also sister I am sure your post would have sent a clear warning to some of our long lost nomads!. May allah help us to become better muslims, amin. Peace.
  3. This is my miss right list: 1.Practice the deen. 2.Respect her family & mine. 3.Degree would be optional but college education must be a must. 4. Has wisdom. 5. Has independent views. 6. Can look after family if I am away on business. 7. Be able to love me for who I am. 8. Has ambition just like me. 9. Untouched by any man except by water that she uses for the bath/shower. 10. Be able to work together to have 3/5 children if not more. 2 boy 3 girls would be a fabulous combination. Also twins if possible. The list will increase as each day passes but this is enough for the time being
  4. People marrying a non-somali (example, fufu from Nigeria) when they can just fly anywhere in the world and choose the most beautiful Somali prince/princess just makes me wonder if I am dreaming. I had to bite my hand twice to know that I am awake!. I know hollywood is in the minds of some guys and ladies. To much love films can make you lose sight of your culture and deen. They see a black woman fall in love with a non-black man or vice versa and they take this approach when in comes to finding a suitable partner. Damn, I wish I was in one of those films!. Some women that I have come across simply dont want to marry a somali coz they prefer to marry someone who is unique and light in complexion but with a heavy pocket. Not generalizing but some people who grew up in Europe and USA without their parents tend to follow the path of interracial marriages. Come on people, why marry a non-somali when you can have someone from your own country who can speak your tongue, teach you the quran and help you to look after the kids. I know the single mother situation in USA, Canada and europe have scared some single somali women into thinking that Somali men are bad and worthless! . Mind you Some Somali men have also taken this idea into their heart due to the fact that they see Jennifer Lopez on their bedroom poster everyday and in their dreams, myself for instance! . Some Somali women dont want the agro that comes with a Somali man and some somali men dont want the package of marrying Somali women due to the biddings that go on night after night and the $15000 dollar marriage bill from Hilton Hotel Accountants! . Good day to you and may god have mercy on us. Peace.

    Q?

Sensitivity is needed at the right times man. You cant be sensitive when a potential killer is in your home!. Dont misunderstand the ladies in here bro, what you see here is just fantasy. I bet the ones who bash men are die-hard fans of us!. Its part of the game bro, Women bash men and Men take it like a MAN!. I think being sensitive is good for a man. A human cant function properly without this key ingredient!. As for the lady or ladies who made that long hollywood list of what they want for christmas, then I suggest you go to the local universties, mosques and libraries. I am sure your cup of tea will be in the community like an ant under a stone!.
  6. Congratulations walal on getting married. Inshallah Allah (swt) will guide your marriage in this dunya and may he award you the highest place in janaah. Wish the fish and chips boy in atlanta could be invited!!!. Damn, I would have hooked up with somebody myself, LOL.
  7. I am just an untrusting person these days silent sister!. Its in my veins like the blood that flows through me!. Its hard to have a clear consciousness of a person you want to get to know better after past tragedies. My moto is "never trust a book by its cover"!. So sis, I am deeply apologetic for generalizing but I am and will always be cautious of sisters who wear a hijab and those who dont!. Peace.
  8. The same thing happened to me baby. I was in my first year of university. I loved her like mad. She was my angel, my rock and words could not describe how I loved her. She was an arab/somali with the most beautiful smile and personality. She was the most dangerous kind. Forget about cheating with one guy but imagine someone cheating on you with multiple people of all races!. She was older and wiser than me and I was too naive. But what I did to survive was just to walk away and never look back. My heart healed but it took a long time. This experience made me not to trust hijab sisters again!. I was deeply angry and shocked that a religous gurl(fake as it turned out to be) that I loved could do this to me. How can she betray me after all the times we were together shopping, studying and helping her with life's daily chores!.   What you need to do sis is to forget about the past although it will be hard to do so and pray hard for allah to keep you on the straight and narrow road. Thats what made me get good grades and a nice degree in IT. Inshallah I pray that you find your chosen one but remember sis, be patient and allah will show you his light, amin. Peace.
  9. Speaking from a personal point of view, I would just like to share my appreciation with you sisters that I appreciate your comments regarding your contributions to this site. Highest Salaan to all of you. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness and wisdom for posting wild but accurate and electrifying replies to this forum!. Our loved Admin has excellent control over this site but without you sisters, this place will be like the Sahara desert with a few rotting carcasses and macaawiis wearing kamikazi farax's! Ladies and Gentlemen, dont you think our sisters are major players in this domain?. Are they appreciated enough?. Peace.
  10. Did you know that I was just pulling your leg Proud Sister . You know that I am fond of you here and I really like your humour!. Peace
  11. After reading these comments, I am getting a mixed reaction with dhiraac!. To some people, it seems like a taboo and others compare it to macaawiis but overall I am really humbled by all your responses and the fact that people can argue for and against dhiraac. This brought different views between different nomads. Thank you. I really respect all your comments. Can I just add that I am a fan of macaawis as well and I am a proud wearer in the home. I still dont have the guts to stroll down the street with it but you never know . If you see a man at your local shopping mall hanging out with the boys with the macawiis, then you know who it could be!. Peace

    Diraac

Why do some young somali women only wear diraac for weddings and western clothes on other ocassions?. Why not wear Diraac on outings such as going to the shopping mall. I find diraac sexy and I think our fellow somali sisters should wear it on other ocassions apart from weddings. Would love to hear your comments regarding this topic. Sorry if it is to vapid but thats all I can add right now!
  13. If you aint happy dearest, then I suggest you rephrase this question for me! . You must be a philospher with a Phd! .
  14. Sorry for intruding but I would like to really share with you women who I appreciate. I appreciate the three al-jannah women, my mother, my grandmothers and my future wife to be!.
  15. Interesting post. God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve or Eve and Evette!.
  16. An advice I can give you is to tell your cousin, if I marry this man.....where will I be with him in the next five years!. The moto is Education, Education, Education!. If she is the educated one and she has kids then who is going to pay the morgage, LOL. Tell your cousin to think twice before rushing otherwise she might end up with a future taxi man!!!. Education is the key to a better future for us. Without it we will be working in the local supermarket, gas station or end up as taxi men!. Peace.
  17. This article really highlights the insights into muslim marriages and ways that two people, a husband and a wife should deal with each other through times of physical and emotional change. I personally agree with this article. Men need to understand that women are not tools for pleasure but fellow human beings who can work together to achieve success in this dunya and the one after. Men should indulge in pleasing their wifes at all times. Women should also participate in pleasing their husbands for allah's sake. Basically it takes two to tango!. Once again, I would like to state that this article sums up good points. Peace
  18. I am humbled by your comments!. I will use your advice on her but as you well know, its is hard to convince a fellow human being of anything that is good for them!. Peace
  19. I really loved your comments silent_sistah. You are 100% right!. Miss_Nissan Skyline, I dont trust somebody or something I dont know deepdown and trust is not in my dictionary. Can you trust your Nissan to be reliable sister? Peace
  20. Proud sister....If you call me warya again I will call you nayaa....LOL
  21. Ilhaam & Runaway virgins you are correct!. Proud sister, this was just a quick quizz of a strange drink that works wonders . Sorry if this quizz did not apply to you!!! . Its your turn to post a question Ilham & Runaway Virgin.
  22. I was just curious about your responses. Thank you very much. Let me direct you to universities in UK sister Ameenah. Their are alot of nice brothers who are educated, religious and versatile(quoted that from someone here), LOL. Once again feel free ladies to ask me any questions that you want to ask.
  23. Salam sisters, I wanted to ask you an advice about the ways I would convince a sister to try to wear a hijab. Their is a sister that I am friends with who has asked me questions regarding the covering of her hair. How do I convince her to do it for allahs sake?.
  24. Why do some people like to show their wretched backside regarding the style of jeans wear. Come on guys, you can do better than going to TJ Maxx and buying last seasons fashion!. Whats with the Calvin Klien shi*!. I really laugh my head off when mali guys who tink they are some gangsta's from harlem pretend to act tough by lowering their jeans up to the point of no return!!!
  25. Are you that type of person who gets suspicious of anything, everything and anyone!. What makes you suspicious and how do you overcome it?
