Awdal is already a region part of Somalia. Ictiraaf however is far fetched.

I agree it is inevitable. I have visited Borama in 2016 twice, it is a very peaceful city. The people in Awdal seem level headed and very different than those in Hargeisa who believe in ictiraaf delusions for example.

There is nothing wrong with Awdal seeking their own federal state within Somalia although the federal state rule states 2 or more regions. Awdal can be a special administrative region a bit similar to Benadir.
