I consider myself to be fully integrated model citizen of the UK. Never had any issues with the police. In fact, I have never been approached by the police. When asked a question, I intend not to challenge the authority or try to undermine the power of the police like many Somalis have made a habit of doing so. Those who resist the police should be arrested and locked up. Geel J, you must have looked like a suicide bomber when approached, I hope you’re not a real one at that too. The UK is already fully packed with opportunistic tourist causing some type of damage in different capacities, one less won’t make any difference. Stay where you are and you’ll get no hassle. As for other people who have been stopped and search, the current hegemonic powers decide who is stopped and arrested. Play ball or go back to Somalia.

The Somali Republic is on a downward trajectory. I am glad that the Southerner are on the verge of getting their acts together! However this is built on shaky foundations and will very soon collapse, albeit with some disastrous consequences. Somaliland politics is built on Hobbs notions of high politics and low politics, we have been able to concentrate on low politics- provide basic goods, controlling inflation, subsidising foods, ensuring safety and security. Whereas Southern Somali Politics is based on High politics on issues to do with sovereignty- although there is a lack of sovereignty as southerner have developed a tendency of inviting external forces to their country, security – complete lack of a security, no functioning security apparatus etc!. Thus Southern Somali politics is guided not so much by general principles of existence by creating a peaceful and harmonious living for its citizens but a desire for the participants to survive politically in response to changing circumstances. Though none ever do so! it is more a merry-go-around or spin the bottle type of politics!

There has been a deliberate ploy to undermine the legitimacy and existence of the democratically elected government of Somaliland by those who foresee the forthcoming coming elections to be the end of the Republic of Somaliland. Elections or no election, free or rigged! This will not make any difference! The Somaliland Defence Force will quash any insurgent forces intent on destabilising the peace and prosperity of Somaliland. Arm-chair politicians with no political muscle can criticise but fortunately your falsified predictions will not be translated into actions!! Mashallah!!! Another person who believes in the purity and superiority of the Somali people. I complete agree with the poster of this topic! This is very encouraging indeed! We may not have much to show for our purity but I believe that Somalis are the most superior people on Earth; our bloodline has not been diluted by the colonisers and those who have tried to conquer the Somali peninsula. If you look at a country like Sudan they have lost their indigenous cultures through Arab imperialism. Furthermore Somalis have fought of ancient Egyptians, Arab-islamo colonisers, the ottomans, the Egyptian colonisation of the 19th century and more recently the western colonials; they have all left their imprints but have not dominated and subjugated the Somali people. We are a strong people and this is Testament to our homogeneity and cultural resemblance!
