pixie, i been to katmandu before i went college thru a college trip. Kathmandu is in Nepal. In Nepal there is no supression of religion compared to that of Tibet (in China) but seriously, i said opressed, so it covers the whole gamet! Glad we could agree on that. So why are you still arguing with me? even we supprress our own! remember that!!! i know that i been there! We all have (civil war... sound familar?) and let me say this sista! u dont know how it feels until u really experienced it!! I think I already addressed this *cough cough* (civil war)

( i would love to see og-gal, pyro-pixie and jamaliah to have lived under taliban) u guys remember women were beaten like animals in public for no bloody reasons!! Supressed people? like you mean Gypsies, Aboriginals all over the world (Africa, South America, North America, etc,.) By supressed people do you mean supressed cultures of people (hence supressed culturally) by powers of colonization? Lets see where else does supression exist? what about Tibet? East Timor? Central African countries that are having erruptions of genocide? Contrary to Western belief supression exists everywhere (not just Islamic countries). Funny isn't it though how the only supression that is evil and is faught and defeated is the so called supression in Muslim countries. You would love to see me live under the Taliban? I would love to see you live the life of a Tibetan Monk (can you handle it?...I think not) That's why they have this expression: Think before you speak

Your reponse was unpleasant...I am deeply disappointed with your all responses. But I am not surprised the negative perception of America is growing in big numbers among those who are hatters and hate the values of America. and what America stands for! I must have misheard you did you say values? of America? is that your idea of a joke?. There is no values in America or of it. It is a dead nation that is trying to revive itself by neo-colonization (guess where its trying to colonize?) come on you can figure it out. During the War on Iraq, I strongly believe we have fought for the cause of liberty, and for the peace of the world. Our nation and our coalition are proud of this accomplishment we achieved Fought for the peace of the world? or a piece of the world? Proud of what bombing seniors, women and children in a already devastated country? Yes, thats certainly an acheivement to be proud of. We should all salute those mighty Americans for taking out those extremist children that are hiding the weapons of mass destruction in their sand boxes. And there is no way I am going to buy from all of you that this war was injustice, and was not justified, The world is safe now from Saddam's Threat, and his weopons of mass destruction! No, nobody thinks its unjust doing something the whole world is against is never unjust. Yes, we are safe from Saddam but did you ever think that there may be mirror images of a Saddam (a more evil one) lurking around the U.S of A by the initials of G.B Jr. Oh and by the way Iraq has fallen the war is over, so where are the weapons of mass destruction that caused the wrath of the chimp president? no where to be found! hmmm I wonder.... -------------------- Proud to Be An American

Globalization is a euphenism for something a lot more harsh and blunt than what the word globalization implies (a global community coming together). Granted the global community does come together, but not in the ideal way. They come together by the developed coutries exploiting human rights and resources from the developing countries. It reminds me of the school yard bully syndrome (pick on the weak kids get their lunch money)

oh another one just came to me Why do people ask how are you? when they don't care about how you are. They say hi how are you and you reply fine if you were to tell them how you really were they would interrupt with "woah buddy I don't wanna hear your life's story" or they would rush off to go to their homes and do nothing or rush off to nowhere in particular to do nothing. So why do we ask each other how we are when we don't really want to know. Are we so deadly polite that we will inquire about someone else and how they want to be on that miserable day or are we just making small talk?

Why can't we win medals for things that make us who we are? (we are exceptional at) like I would nominate myself for the most sarcastic pain in the arse award (and I know I would win hands down)

Originally posted by ProudSista: I hope some of youz sister's can fill me in, I'm about to join the army this summer InshAllah! Holla!! This is what proudsista first said. She said fill me in. She did not ask for your countless opinions on the army or how horrible it is. Usaully, when people ask questions like these; they have already made their decision and just want to know what it's like from someone who's had the experience of what the experience actaully is. I still can't understand how some of you deduced she was in the U.S when her location says New Zealand and from what I heard New Zealand is a pretty peaceful country. What I'm trying to say is relax you aren't joining the horrible army with her, its her choice after all so let her be. I leave you with an age old slogan: Live and Let Live

Reer Canada..Watch for SARS!(avoid Public Places!) Avoid public places? yes, lets do so and lock ourselves in bubbles as well. Oh wait! lets not forget those complete body coverage research suits like in that movie outbreak. ^^ ridiculous isn't it? There is nothing to fear so a few people died of a disease it was their time to go and if its your time you will die as well. Anyone realized yet that what you fear is what you get?

Originally posted by Ruba From Aruba: Alright, pixie you could be right, but rape isnt the only way a woman can be harrased, there are one thousand and one other ways....sleeping in different quaters, isn't a ticket to safety. I wasn't talking about rape and sexual harassment exists everywhere. Yeah, I know sleeping in different quarters isn't a huge safety degree but, if your Somali and female they resent you more for being Somali (because of a Muslim background). Asking questions like you ain't no extremist mofo are you? (and these are by the ranking officers not the infantry soliders  )

Originally posted by Ruba From Aruba: Are aware of all the risks that are present for a woman in the army, with men. Most men are edgy of the women in the army cuz they think they are either lesbians or crazed gun happy women. And besides there are different sleeping qaurters. Trust me its none of that glamourized hollywood "I'm a woman and being picked on cuz I'm in the army crap."

Isn't it weird that we drink milk, stuff designed to nourish baby cows? How did THAT happen? Did some cattleman once say, "Oh, man, I can't wait till them calves are done so I can get ME a hit of that stuff, Humans give milk for the same reason to nurish their young (breast feeding) then the milk leaves for a reason (its not needed anymore). Yeah, its unnatural from one species to another , its like a elephant feeding off a mother pigs milk. Not to mention milk is floating with bacteria and puss and the myth that its good for calicium is a big lie; it deprives you of that stuff it boasts to give. Very unhealthy milk is beleive it or not beer is healthier than that stuff (I'm not promoting it so don't jump the gun). Milk: floating with sickness Beer: wasted nutrients (will cause depression in the end and kill you eventually or just give you a beer belly) where else did you think the term came from? Water: what life needs to live on and no side effects (except maybe water poisoning, but come on you can get poisoning from anything now a days) So take your pick, but remember choose wisely.

the letter W in English isn't really a double U. Its a double V so why do we despite it being a double V still say double U. It should be double V. Judge for yourself: UU............ VV

Sun is setting behind the trees The hot weather keeps Producing a gentle breeze The colours from the sunset combine and intertwine Red, orange, yellow, gray and pink Absolutely gorgeous don't you think The sun goes down By tommarow it will come around The never-ending journey of day and night Some classify it as an old rite The sun will replace the moon The sunflowers will once again be in bloom The world quickly turns The sun no longer facing this way Its the other sides chance to burn As we fall asleep on this side The day animals from their night stalkers will hide

A crater filled moon hung in the clouds Schools of stars Clustered in crowds Twilight Twinkling away The night sky Very quickly Transforms into day The sun halfway over the horizon Something spectacular Isn't it? That giant yellow Orb rising

I know I will be chastised for starting this topic sometime later on. But I had to start this topic. I was looking down on the topics posted on the general forum and I noticed to my people sounds like. To my peephole ( if you say it slowly or fast enough) So what are some of your random thoughts? come on we can all share....
