Ethiopian Troops Seen Entering Central Towns in Somalia
NGONGE replied to xiinfaniin's topic in Politics
Are they in? Hadaba now is the time to oppose them and call for their exit (whilst hoping they don't leave before dismantling the crazy Islamic cardboards). -
^^ Childhood and some teenage years. I mean, I'm pretty certain that A&T was still a teenager by the time the 90s arrived, I was too (just about). p.s. Nuune, going by his stories, was a teenager in 1965. Being friends with the outworldly lot has done wonders for his complexion. p.p.s I already know you, Ibti & Chuba were Byker Grove chicks (or was that only Curly?).
-
^^ It's a shame that they don't have their very own Xaglatoosiye, soo maha Liibaan?
-
^^ Centre half? And you say A&T didn't know of him. Heh!
-
^^ You? But (if you excuse what may seem like an insult) you are caato!
-
^^ He's cancelled out by Liqiye though.

The seventies and early eighties were a time of innocence and learning for me. It was a time of TV and Japanese anime. But it is something I would dearly love to replicate for my own children at home (instead of some of the rubbish they watch today). Through those masterful Japanese, I got to know about the epic story that is Arabian Nights whilst I was still a very young child. The adventures of Sinbad The Sailor had it all; magic, bravery, intrigue & even Jinn! As eight year olds, we were also introduced to the classics of Mark Twain (Tom Swayer & Huckleberry Finn) : When A&T was happily bouncing about and singing about yellow fever, we were learning about the Japense Samuri and the magical Sasuki (he had magic, he had tricks and he was braver than Sinbad). : And, of course, there was always the amazing world-saving Grendizer! Still, the one thing that Somalis of similar age might have watched at the same time as me is Open Seseme (Iftax ya Semsem). Nocmaan, anyone? This was an "arabised" version of the American show Seseme Street. Learnt my alphabet through that, I did. You probably noticed how much I love Peru. It's not because I visited the land or read about it in later years, it's because of hte one and only Pepero (Eldorado is a real city you know). Ma wadaa?

Very good player. Didn't get injured much and always seemed to be there. Bet the journalists are already trying to hack into his phone.

^^ Xaaji waqooyi ma aniga ba mise waa Norf? Kolay you didn't mean Jacaylbaro. Salaam all.
-
Bah! It's a fix. Nuune should withdraw from this sham.
-
^^ War waad is kashiftay. You're on your own now, brother. I will not try to sweet talk these ladies for you anymore (Ibti, I told you my brother was good. Look, he's a wadaad too). p.s. I implore all passing jinn to support their one and only boy in his hour of need. Ashtoot..artoot..nuune needs the vote.

In my days, the coke you mention was used as "hair gel". You see, for some strange reason, someone told us that by puring coke (or pepsi) on our hair we would get that MJ look (from the Off the wall album). So lots of cans of coke were poured on lots of heads. There were no girls around. Girls were only seen from a distance and the most impressive and (to this day) arousing thing was to view a girl/woman/female getting out of a car; for that split secnd we could view a quick glimpse of a smooth ankle (unless it were some mad woman who wore socks). Swimming in the sea, catching wild donkies in the desert or loitering outside the house of a "new" friend just becuase they've hired a pretty new maid was the 80s for me. As for football; Dalglish everyday. Maradona sometimes. Majed Abdullah, mostly and Mahmood Suufi by the end of the decade. Our favourite football chant? "سليت ما صليت يا ربي توبه" I forgot, I didn't pray..oh allah..tooba (it was sung as soon as the first half of games finished; the games were timed so as the first half will finish just as Asar prayer was about to start and the chant was a jokey call to those that sit in the stands in between. Ma wadaa?

Abtigiis, these SSC groups that are split three ways, how are they split and according to what rules? Is it according to the city they live in or the charm of the leader they follow? Do those following Xaabsade originate from the same sub clan as he who leads the SSC fighters for example? Tell me ninyaho, I need to make sure that my Q is E theory is wrong here.
-
This thread came a tad late, A&T. You should have started it when my SSC thread was started. This way, the kids would have come to you and the serious ones would have come to me. p.s. My thread was better.

Heh. Heh. Heh.

^^ Was it a urinal or a cubical?

And that why Egypt and the Arab world eventually imploded. مش كنت تسيبهم يعاكسوا الموزز يا حسني؟

^^ Mo diidin dee, wuu hubsanaya uun. You are not as extereme as I thought you were, Xaaji.

^^ I fully believe we can. In fact, this reminds me of a conversation I had with Norf the other day. He suprised me by telling me that paying for adverts on Somali TV (Universal, etc) was very cheap. This instantly got my mind whirring and I thought of conducting a secret experiment (the cost would have been worth it really). By the way, Shukri Shankaroon is a bit of an obvious name. Think of one along the same lines but make it slightly more subtle. Wa ma Sheikh Sharif ayaa naga caqli weyn? If he can masqurade as a wadaad, we can bleed blue nationalism (and, no, not the SOL type). I like your ideas there but those don't go far enough nor do they take advantage of the "political" and "social" opportunities that Somalia's plight presents. Bal give me five minutes to cook it through in my mind.

A&T, the source of Val's confusion might have something to do with Xiin's description of himself as an "exaggerated online persona". Marka, if you exaggerate deadwood maxaad heli? p.s. I agree, Xiin rocks (but sometimes it's only through the old shoes we keep lobbing at him).

^^ The Islamic Courts, minus the Islam part? It could work you know. Lets sit down and formulate a plan, shall we. Ok. First we need a name, How about Qawmiyada Caalamka Somalia (Q.A.S). Next we need a slogan. How about HEES (Horomar...fill in the gaps) Finally, we need a face for our movement. It can't be a college lecturer or "Dr" (PL, Azania and even the TFG have one of those). It can't be a wadaad (Al Shabab & the TFG have one each). It can't be a career politician (SL and others have those). It has to be something totally new. It also have to be someone trustworthy. Aha, got it! How about a young girl. There has not been many females dipping their garbasaars into Somali politics (well, apart from Saado but hers is a different case). Here is your mission Carafat. In order to achieve world peace (which, in your case and for some strange reason, begins in Somalia), you have to visit the many Somali Socities in universities around the world and find yourself a young, camera-friendly, and articulate lady who is passionate about Somali affairs but is slightly green and naive (we can mould her later). You must ensure that she is willing to talk to the press and that she is not shy about having her face on Youtube and other media outlets. I'll stop here but if you're game we can go on and formulate a plan of action on how we are going to get this lady to become the face of Somalia. p.s. Please ensure that she has a name that is popular with all Somalis, Shuun will not sit nicely with some parts of Somalia. Still, if we must, we'll change her name too.

I wonder if CL did manage to have her Turkey this eid! Aaah, CL, I've been missing her lately.

^^ I think that poor brother of mine is cursed, Juxa. Everytime I see a girl I like and try to sort him out, the girls leaves town.
