  1. Lol @ going rate... Allah reer UK cheap-sanaa, 3k bey yidhaahdeen! Aaliyah, hadaba waad u jeedaa, agtooda ha ka dhawaanin ragaas On serious note, it's difficult to put a monetary value to your worth, though not the purpose of the meher. I can see how one would struggle to come up with a figure...
  2. Mabrook, sis. Kuwii kheyr kuwada waara Allah ha idin ka dhigo
  3. Salaam I am looking for anyone who might have an access to two journal articles that I would really like to get a hold of before the end of this week; our library does not own these journals and ILLs take about two weeks. They are the following: 1. Title of article: Controlled chemoprophylaxis trials in tuberculosis. A general review. Title of Journal: Adv Tuberc Res (Advances in Tuberculosis Research.) Author: Ferebee SH Volume: 17 Year: 1970 pg: 28-106 2. Title of article: Isoniazid prophylaxis among Alaskan Eskimos: a final report of the Bethel isoniazid studies. Title of Journal: Am Rev Resp Dis (The American Review of Respiratory Disease) Authors: Comstock GW, Baum C, Snider DE Jr. Volume: 119 Year: 1979 pg: 827-30 Your help will be much appreciated, plus it would be super nice if you can kindly send them to me via PM so I can get an email notification. Jazakumallah kheyr!
  4. Ng, Lol. Iska daa, wuu ka kabsan doonaa like a real man mar dhow, that is haduu reeraheyga yahay
  5. Assalamu Alaykum Br. Nur, I hope you're doing great and you've remembered us in your duas during the blessed month. To be honest, there were many moments during this Ramadan where I kept thinking missed opportunities. I became quite ill at some point during the 1st third of the month, and this had a significant impact on my energy levels and my capacity to perform physical worship in subsequent weeks - but qadar Allah, I tried my best even though I felt deficient. Significant lesson learned, though exogenous: take at least the last two weeks off work at whatever means necessary. This could have allowed for much better use of my time, alleviated the feeling of guilt, and thus reduced some of the stress I've endured. Allah kan kiisa kale kheyr iyo caafimaad ha nagu gaadhsiiyo.
  6. Assalamu Calaykum my dear fellow SOLers, it's been a while! I come here to pass my late eid wishes and I find this (well the other thread to be exact - had a quick glimpse)! Looks like I've missed quite a bit of entertainment Ibti, thanks habibti for responding to the very few who questioned my contribution on these boards - it is indeed the quality that counts folks So, shall I be preparing a thank you speech or something? It's very sad to see Br. Xiin not having made the list (or has he not been seen around sideydoo kale? Still though.) - I can't believe this but this forced me to settle for Ngonge, Ya Salaam, I surprised myself. Lakin, between you and A&T, you got my vote with plenty of confidence. On a serious note, I've missed a lot of people around here; Insha Allah, all is great with everyone. Unfortunately, I don't have the time these days to be posting but I wish you all well. Salaam
  7. ^Awww. Cute baby. A belated Eid mubarak, yaa jamaaca. Hope you've all had a wonderful time. May Allah subxanahu watacala accept all of our good deeds this past month, shower His blessings upon us and help us continue the good habits. Ameen.

  9. ^ No, no, ha isku kaaya dirin wiilka...this is all out of genuine concern for his beloved Somali sisters, lol. Bas anigu waxaan ku waaninlahaa (if he cares for my waano) inuu miyiga wadankii iska dago, that way gabdha uu la dhaco mooyaane kuwa ka yaabiya muunan arkeen Ahlaaan Nephy!! Xabibti, nafta ka waran? Missed you *Waves at Buuxo*
  10. Gee, thanks for the reassurance, heed the advice kuye! Anigu midab-badalidna iguma jirto (though the harsh prairie weather hasn't been nice on my skin nor midab, gabdhow maxey gabdhuhu marsadaan bal ii sheega in case I reconsider this one ), nin islasimidna Allah ima badin, saa qof aad aaminsatahay inuu kaa sarreeyo ayaa la isku taxluujiyaa inaad gaadho amaba dhaafto. Dumarku waa hore ayeey duuleen, Allah caza wajal baa siiyey darajo, why come down. Maxaa kale oo hadhay? Yes, dhaqankaad gabdhaha ku bookhineysey! Isaguna muxuu ahaa bal iyara xasuusi, is it sida loo sooho masafta, ama sida sadex-dhudoodka loo xidho (ama shaash iyo guntiino, braless, half your body revealed) while singing the heelo? Mise waa fijaan dhisid? Mise waa muqmad jarid...maya, maya, it must be sida ragga cagaha loogu dhaqo oo loogu masaajeeyo, eh? Intaba iguma ogid!!! Bas khalas, I do still want a custom made fijaan from Jigjiga, even if the would-be receiver would have no clue what it is. Marka, ninyahow, gabdhaha isaga hadh waxey kuu tuhmeen bey qabaanee.
  11. ^Salaam dear . Far from that (as I understand, of course). It's not at all a poem composed for women unless of course Paragon is of the view that the whole gabay is only an extension of one of the opening lines (I can see dad baad u dan lahayd inaad ku duqeeyso kilmada ey tidhi iyaguna kulameey fahmin ). If anything, Rooda is all for empowering women, however, her concerns, as demonstrated by most of her powerful poems, reach far beyond mere gender issues. It's a very rich and poignant gabay addressing all Somalis, describing their current plight and sad state of affairs, awakening them to the truth. I really like this part: "Meelkastaba ha joogaan dadkuye magicii Soomali Maraagii(?) iyo in caynkii u go'ay muranle weeyaanee Musiibadan khadhaadh iyo duliga aan dhex miiraneyno La inalama maagine waxaan mudanay weeyaanee Milicsadaa inaan garano waa lagama-maarmaane"
  12. Ina adeerow, maalintu waa maalin jimcaad ee soo ma ogid? Haye, masjidka ma tagtey maanta?
  13. Ameen, sis. I'd like to hear those Sudanese imaams' recitals if you can locate their links
  14. Mabrook, Dabshid. Waan ka xumahay inaan la yara daahey.

  16. haaheeey, ka soco.
  17. ^oo kol hadaad adigu ku jirto, xitaa Xiin iyo A&T-na lagu sheegayey (obviously hiding themselves ), maxaa dadka kale ka reebi? p.s I think there are some very weird SOLers who have double accounts, one of which they keep picture-less and for which they use just to check others out - as if you will be added!
  18. Canjeex, I haven't seen that clip before, jazakallah kheir for posting it. Such a beautiful gathering, mash Allah - I wonder if I will be allowed to sneak in to one of those 'men only' halqahs when I visit Doha one day, Insha Allah. Ms DD, unfortunately the Shaikh's website with all of his work and the ten qira'aat is temporarily down but I was able to find you couple of his clips demonstrating different qira'aat: . Riwaayah As-Soosi can Abu Camr. Click on the middle highlighted column to listen. Very interesting recitation. You've heard his Warsh. I thought to throw in Xafs can Caasim (obviously, the most widely known qiraa'a) by Shaikh Adulhakeem Soofi (his younger brother, not a Qaari himself though). Listen to Al-Maryam. Here's an excellent, brief introductory chapter on the Science of Qiraa'aat by Shaikh Yaasir Qaadhi from his book 'An Introduction to the Sciences of the Quran'. An informative chapter for those without previous exposure to the topic, and a good motivation to pick up the book and start studying ulum al-quran Hope that will be useful.
  19. Sheekadu weli miyeey socotaa? Ya Salaam. Here's a little for you, NG. Hope you like it.
  20. Walee warankaaga umbaan qof jiidhin saa waa plastic aad se adigu umoodo steel
  21. Bisinka, war meesha miyaad degantahay? LoL. Besides, I dont need to what? Clarification ala cynicism soo maha?
  22. ^Allah, adna waligaa kama kortid quuq iyo maalayacni. Thanks to the poster for the article; I have never actually seen it before. May Allah bless his soul, the Garaad was indeed a very brave and patriotic hero. p.s. I really like the paintings on the previous page.
  23. ^What do you think he means by that? Abu-Salman, firstly, I would highly recommend seeing your spiritual advisor/mentor if you haven't already done so. You have legitimate concerns with which I think only a learned mentor who knows you quite well will be able to assist. Secondly, communicate your real concerns to your mother. You can voice your own preferences while still being respectful and sensitive to hers. In addition to that, though I don't know you at all, you come across as someone who could benefit from taking this process as an opportunity to learn about their own self, through Islamic lenses. Perhaps this dilemma is a test from Allah subhanahu watacala for you to refine the equation that involves just you initially, as this issue might bring to surface qualities you weren't aware you had (or to re-examine the ones you already had), and once you feel comfortable with this, perhaps incorporating other variables into the equation wouldn't be a very difficult process. This is just a thought! May Allah guide you to the best decision.
  24. It's 3am, sheeko NG ma akhrinkaro, but I am glad you're back safe and sound. Hope you've enjoyed your trip.
  25. Congrats, A&T. Allah mid kheyr qabta ha kaaga dhigo.
