Borama is not burning, nor is there any violence taking place (besides the security forces shooting at and intimidating the youths). Don't forget the shocking part is that the crowds weren't chanting against the killings or asking for your so-called government to respond. Instead - with the Awdal State flag and the chanting - they completely rejected the Hargeysa admin and the entire enclave as nothing more then a place run by one tribe. So you say there is no Somali unity? Please, despite all the secessionists efforts Borama showed us yesterday that the unity can't be suppressed.

Mogadishu is in the best state that it has been EVER (which started with Abdullahi Yusuf) and is continuing with H.E President Sharif. We now have presidents and the UN chief visiting, Al Shabaab fled and can no longer parade the streets openly. Elsewhere in the country we have area's that are openly rejecting secessionism with huge public displays. Where even the staunchest SOL secessionists is forced to eat humble pie and realize that area's outside of the triangle are changing fast. You already have one dominant group in NW Somalia that controls everything and when you give that group the presidents chair, you better expect problems. Borama is proof!
  3. Lol, the African's don't need the vest!
  4. Somalina;764165 wrote: I knew Thankful would've a field day with this news. You thought right! The poetic justice of it all is that Xaaji calls Puntland a clan state, however, if you watch this video you will not only hear people in Borama chanting long live Awdal State and for the secessionists Hargeysa administration of NW Somalia to fall, but you will hear the people at 3:50 of this video chanting that they do not want NW Somalia's dominant ***** clan country. " frameborder="0" allowfullscreen> The secessionists are now resorting to creating nonesense threads from pictures to articles that were written in the past. Anything to avoid the events in Borama.
  5. Where is our secessionists friends? It's strange that they have avoided this thread. I've seen them posting on other threads today. Also, I am certain all have visited this thread and watched the iconic video's. It's beyond interesting how the same people who reside from the Hargeysa - Burco - Berbera triangle are the ones that post the most negative news coming from Puntland and the TFG. However, are now the ones that are avoiding this thread or are unable to contribute anything meaningful? Guys dont hide, I know you may be in shock right and can't muster up any words. I guess you have all come to the decision that it is best to stay quiet and hope the news dies down. Last week Erigavo, now Borama, what's next?
  6. STOIC, Somaliland youths are doing balance and check on their governments reaction to national issue. The issue here is not the protests, because these kinds of acts occur all over the world. Even the most democratic countries are subjected to this from time to time. This issue here is the Awdal State flag being waved. Indeed, the Important part here is to remember the title of this thread "Awdal State flag waved". Because, unlike other democratic places the youths here are promoting open defiance against your enclave. They are waving the same flag that Somalia's unionists all over the world have been waving. Simply put, by bringing out this flag they are not protesting "their government" as you say, but in fact are openly rejecting it and it's flag and calling for seperation.

STOIC;764100 wrote: ^ Don't you realize this demonstration by itself is a democracy at work.Certainly the underlying conditions in that part of the world is highly favorable to democracy and if it wasn't so it would have been improbable to preserve what they preserved the last 18 years. The disheartening fact is that some of you guys are secretly praying to have a full blown chaos just to support your disaproval of Somaliland (So much for being patriotic and peace loving Somalis). The remarkable fact is that Somaliland has created a culture that supports its ideals and practices of freedom of expresion.Only a democratic government can provide a maximum opportunity for exercising a moral responsibility-a responsibility that the current government has promised to bring justice to the victims. No it is not democracy at work, although the Hargeysa admin is not a country - we are seeing the same stuff happening in Syria right now (or over 20 years ago in China). Is that because there is democracy in this country? Of course not it is the people who are forcing those regimes to change! The lack of democracy is the reason. Or the citizens of other Arab regimes who took to the streets, those regimes showed no democracy throughout their existence. It's the same with Awdal, where dominant group in the triangle have access to Bebera's port and airport and drug trade are able to pay of local elders and others from Awdal to follow them. If this was democracy, you would not see a new flag being waved! Obviously there is none. However, the Youth are now speaking as these video's clearly show!
  8. Somalina;763985 wrote: secessionists need to realize that the Awdal flag, which has been waved at functions all over the world is also being waved by citizens inside Borama - as this video clearly shows.

Where are all the scessionists, why are they avoiding this thread? Xaaji I await your comments about how your enclave is a democracy. Lol, even though bullets are being used to intimidate the crowd. No matter what! One thing is clear. Awdal is not like it use to be. The youth are coming out and realizing that the secessionists tribal enclave is not what they want. I believe this uprising began because of the decision to make Siilaanyo president!
  10. Even better pics. President Sharif and his government must continue to reach out to its core international friends. Much has been achieved but still there is huge obstacles ahead. Well done!
  11. There's no question in Kuwait's eyes that the TFG is a legitimate government.
  12. Saalax;717217 wrote: Hate it or Love it. Dude got the red carpet & presidential treatment in Kuwait. Somaliland’s Silanyo touches down in kuwait with red-carpet. http://somalilandpress.com/somalilands-silanyo-touches-down-in-kuwait-with-red-carpet-21981 Like I said, that's no Kuwaiti Presidential treatment. More like how Sarah Palin was welcomed or any other Governor. Because when two people greet you, or your delegation significantly out numbers your hosts at the airport, it's quite clear it is not "presidential treatment." This is a high level government reception, Kuwaiti style
  13. Lol, maybe just a little. But like i've said before, this place would be boring without the secessionists. As well, I am reassured about our unity when I see so many threads from NW Somalia on this site. Keep up the good work!
  14. Let's be clear, for years all these annoucements - whether from Kenya, Malaysia, Egypt or anywhere else - are never being announced by any other country it's always the same source, some NW Somali site or the Hargeysa admin. Where are the articles from these nations that will corroborate this news? Stop speaking for them.
  15. Like it was said before, the ridiculous excuses that are used whenever a occurrence like this happens in NW Somalia needs to stop. Because, unfortunately you are not immune to the rest of the problems facing Somalia. The truth will come out! Xaaji Xunjuf;762887 wrote: Somaliland minister of trade and industry is the nephew of caaqil hoolif people are basically all related there which makes all somalilanders one big family Your government and so-called elections were controlled by one group!

So, dont accuse people just because you disagree with them. Other then that I know many westerners and Somali's who live in Nairobi and enriched themselves with the Aid funds and belief me those people have a reason to hide and you wont see them in the media. From what I hear Mr. Bryden's wife is from NW Somalia and thus in my opinion this poses a significant conflict of interest and explains why he he is gentle on the Hargeysa admin, particularly when it comes to their suspect involvement with Al Shabaab and secessionism. I have supported some of his findings in the past, however, it is clear he only looks for the bad in certain area's of Somalia and gives others a pass.
  17. After the defeat of Al-Shabaab, the African Union should take responsibility for Somalia, argues Robert Rotberg. From this quote the author seems quite certain Al Shabab will be defeated! I like the optimism! Mogadishu is slowly awakening after Al Shabaab's defeat and heads of states are finally able to visit! The rest of the country will be insha'Allah.
  18. http://www.somaliaonline.com/community/showthread.php/32102-Ms-Edna-Aden-says-Somaliland-s-Passport-is-accepted-in-Africa-Europe-and-America Somaliland's FM Ms. Edna Aden Isma'il who is currently touring the United States of America attended a special reception in Minnesota marking the 14th Annual Celebration of Somaliland's Independence. The Minister gave a lively speech in English Language to the participants whom included a sizeable number of Americans. The minister then showed to the audience 3 Somaliland passports in which she said that she uses for her travelling. The passports had African, European and American visas on them. Here is a report from Hadhwanaagnews. Every few years secessionists on here create a thread concerning their so-called passport! I don't know why this is news, Edna claimed years ago it was being recognized by many western countries lol!
  19. I wondering where the Hargeysa admin ranks? Opps, they are considered part of Somalia by the UN!
  20. Edna Aden use to walk around with one with stamps she claimed was from the EU and other countries. Nonetheless, what it comes down to is that when some secessionists on here are shown photo's of the health minister from their enclave representing Somalia at a UN Summit, they claim it is photohopped. However, this photo is expect to be 100% authentic!
