GD I am not sure about this (maybe JB can clarify) but I dont think Prostitution is illegal, not in Somalia or Somaliland. In fact if I am right he was only prosecuted FOR distrubting porn and pornography. Prostitution is and always will be something that exist but ignored by the Somalis (in all areas) but I think the locals had a problem with pornography that was circulating hence the case. Prostitution is NOT alright (Islamicly at least) but so long as it is between consenting private inviduals it has not nothing to do with the state) As I said it is waste of money to prosecute him and put him on trial if the stentence is not served, never the less it does not merit a speech from anyone- least of all in defence of women who went into that proffession.
