  1. ^ I am sure you are just as baffled by how a whole society threw out its millenia old culure and history to claim a half-breed status and mental servitude to a foreign culture.
  2. I am not saying that there is no life after death which would indeed make me a kaafir if I do, but just that there is no life in the grave. The two are slightly different. According to the Holy Quran, mankind will be brought back to life on the Day of Resurrection to face Divine Justice. Till then the dead will remain unconscious and in a state of nothingness. They will just be a pile of rotting bones or ash depending on whichever way the dead person get sent off in his or her funeral.
  3. ^ No I am not trolling. The imaginary life in the grave is one those inventions which corrupted Islam.
  4. @Che -Guevara said: We, Somalis, have the unfortunate destiny of never claiming our true history. We rather read what others wrote about us Ajuran along with Geledi Sultanate were two interesting Somali political entities. Che Somalis have lost their history the moment they were mentally colonised by the Arabs and then claimed to be their half-breed. Today Somaliland is awash with archaeological treasures depicting the story of our thousands of years old civilisation but non of the locals regard these precious remains as their own. All the locals believe the archaeological remains belong to other races who lived in the land before the Somalis. As a consequence of this disregard there is a widspread looting of the ancient tombs of our ancestors and the priceless artefacts found are then sold in the world's black market.
  5. He was put under pressure and was misguided but i truly admire his faith, Mashaallah.
  6. Does anyone believe life in the grave? In other words does the claim that there is life in the grave where people are punished or rewarded carry any merit?
  7. "And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allah and avoid Taghut." And among them were those whom Allah guided, and among them were those upon whom error was [deservedly] decreed. So proceed through the earth and observe how was the end of the deniers." (Quran 16:36) As indicated in this verse, Almighty Allah advices the Muslims to visit the monuments and remains of ancient civilisations and learn about their history and how Allah dealth with those who rejected the truth. I don't see the logic of blowing up such previous reminders of our past.
  8. Is it you who recorded this video Mr Saalax? Where is Waqdariya by the way?
  9. @Haatu said: For a while now I have been thinking of a Somali word for obesity. I recently came across the word 'bardaq' which according to the dictionary means "Qof buuran oo jir jilicsan leh" . As you can see this is a very good candidate for the translation of obese. Obesity would therefore be bardaqsanaan . When put in a sentence it would become for example: "Ololaha ka hortagga bardaqsanaanta" (Campaign for the prevention of obesity). What do you guys think? Do you know of a better word for obesity? I am very close to cursing you Mr Haatu for remining me of a terrible word. Yes bardaq was the word used to violate my human rights when I was a child and food was my best friend :-D
  10. @Haatu said: I have a question. What do you call a 'corridor' in Somali? Where I'm from we just say 'labadhaxda', i.e. that which is in between two places which is what a corridor literally is. Luuq is probably the word you are looking for.
  11. There were far no camels in the Somali peninsula decades ago and yet the land was lush and very productive. So it is not the livestock which is responsible but the devastating deforestation which has been going on since the civil conflict began a quarter of a century ago. Basically the entire population of the former republic which is growing rapidly in size is dependent on charcoal for their fuel. The fallen trees are also not replaced to maintain supply. It is this unsustainable consumption of a very limited resource which is the chief cause of the problem.
  12. @xabad said: Geeljire lagaroone ah, wal ileen tan yaa arkay :D Waryaa, do you want ISIS to throw you off a tall building. There is no excuse for homophobia here.
  13. @galbeedi said: Haatu , did all these " erey bixin have done long ago ?, or is it new. It is a seventies stuff
  14. @Haatu said: A collection of all the ereybixin the different ministeries came up with when the language was written. A true treasure trove: http://dspace-roma3.caspur.it/bitstream/2307/4175/3/ Diiwaanka%20Ereybixinta%20Af-Soomaaliga_Qaybta%201aad.pdf I had a quick glance of this document and found one error: Moth is translated as a balanbaalis which is wrong. Moth is a different specie altogether and should have a different name in Somali.
  15. @galbeedi said: I thought everyone has his own channel. Xabad , you hate our Religion and our faith, you do not show any respect what so ever. In this pages you claim loudly that you hate Islam and Muslims. with all due respect , why not go to the hate Islam channel, definitely there are many in the net. I would not go to animal right channel, or atheist channel or the evangelical dial. This topic is really concerned how, the faithful , could become people of reason, and shed the extremist baggage that is distorting our values. You can not troll and trash every thing Islam. At least have mercy for your heritage. Waxaan moodayey in qolo walba mawjad gaara oo ay dhagaysto leedahay. Umma aynaan iman golahan in diinteena lagu aflagaadeeyo. My concern is that some of us want to criticise the puritanical and extremist among us who hijacked our faith and values by standing our ground as Muslims. Your kind of Islam bashing will not bring our people together nor diminish the threat posed by terrorists. I am not attacking your values, but it is better for you to realize that you have a different value than the super majority of Somalis. As a person who believe the idea of live and let live, I think you are behaving like anther form extremists who looks down the an washed masses. Again have a respect . No one disrespected our religion mr galbeedi and this is an open forum where everything is up for debate. If anyone is so insecure in their faith then fhey should avoid all places like this.
  16. Horta ninyow aakhiro iyo xisaabta kaa danbaysa miyaad ilowday. Qof Muslim ah xaq uma lihid inaad aflagaadaysid ee sidaa ma u ogtahay. Xisbiga iyo beeshan aad ku waalatay midna qiyaamaha wax ku tarimaayo ee yaanay dambi ku galin.
  17. There are three types of people not just two as the peom indicated. The third and most important type of people are those who possess both faith and reason. This group is the rightly guided and will be the successful.
  18. Che are you going mudane xabad's way too?
  19. Is it really "independent" or has anyone "trusting" it?
  20. This is an excellent article and carries so much truth about the Arab world's sick culture.
  21. So we all agree the root cause of the Somali political crisis both current and historic is the lack of accountability and (I add) transparency and justice. The clan issues only magnify and distort the problems caused by the lack of trust which is itself caused by the absence of accountability, transparency, and justice.
  22. @Haatu said: It seems you guys are Somalis after all. The curse of qabyaalad runs deep. Are these guys Alpha's family? Actually the habro, their daraawiish in-laws, the pirates, and your fellow cagdheer are the worst culprits when it comes to tribalism. The form of tribalism practised by these four groups is nothing less than pre-Islamic jaahiliyah and is fully responsible for the downfall of the Somali nationhood.
