  3. The best marriage is that upon which the least trouble and expense is bestowed. (Hadith) As we learn from this hadith, when it comes to marriage make it simple, less costly and it will be a plessed marriage. As a man, i believe we are being put in a delicate position to follow todays norms of marriage celebrations and go broke or try searching the right muslimah that knows and understands that expensive weddings and damaashaads will not make your marriage last. It will certainly not bring you prosperity. Somali women should understand when your husband is broke, you are also broke. After all This is the time you should show him your loyaly and love and i tell you he will never forget you.
  4. i pray to allah for their quick recovery.
  5. I wonder what is the difference between the settlers who were coming into mogadishu in their thousands during the golden days of siyad barre from far regions such as gedo and somaligalbeed. The author deliberately ignored a crucial part of xamar's history. Both of this groups, the settlers after the overthrow of siyad bare and those that the former dictator brought in and made them millitary leaders, regional leaders committed heinous crimes. In a positive note, i remember before the start of the civil war, many young new commers from hargeysa and central regions of somalia were quite ready to assimilate and embrace the "culture of xamar" which was a multicultural city. Therefore i hope the new ********s will have no choice but to assimilate and once again make mogadishu the jewel of somalia.
  6. Relationships, love, passions, fake honeyss etc. No wonder you are in a mess. appeasing someone else while breaking allah's rules will not make you happy, rather it will bring only misery.
  7. really do feel sorry for somali brotha's. Some have given the hope of ever getting married. Saving for 20k to 40k is alot. No wonder why some of them are not married and depressed No need to get depressed when there are other alternatives we can take.
  8. French President Jacques Chirac said Tuesday that Turkey would need to undergo a "major cultural revolution" before entering the European Union. By demanding turkey to change its culture and believes to be accepted into Europe contradicts Europs claim of being champion of diversity and tolerance in the world. As for turkey, a proud nation that gave birth to the ottoman empire should not humiliate it self by always knocking EU door hoping to join, and start its own Union rivaling that of Europe with the large turk speaking nations of centeral asia and become its leader.
  9. Is this a joke or what! Waagacusub is touring the borders between the two adminstrations Puntland and Somaliland, while ignoring the plight of mogadishu people who are desperately in need of adminstration and rule of law.

    Vote For K'Naan

ninba ninkiisa haloo adeegsado waaye sheekada. just like divide and rule tactics of the british. keynaan is being used by MTV to showcase their bad influence into the minds of somali youths. My brother alla ubaahne was right by suggesting, be carefull of who you vote for in this case, keynaan might be ayan hirsi of the future or even worse.

  15. Well what did you expect from a bounch of savegries,? these people had no vision, no plan, no statehood, no programme, no alternative, their only plan was to overthrow Siyaad Barre, and then exterminate his fellow clansmen. As Caydiid used to lecture them all time. I agree the first portion of your writing, usc and other rebel groups.ie.ssdf,spm, sdm, snm. etc were groups of uncivilized savages. But the second part, aidid and usc planned to exterminate certain clans, i don't agree. We would have had different picture than we have now. This is 14 years late, and pointless. We should learn from history, so that the likes of these rebels don't deceave us. I agree lets stop the generalisation. The whole of the southern clan movements where not much better, you had the SPM,SNF, and all the other rubish that were battling the USC and so on. Its not just the USC groups but all the Somali rebel groups and the former regime that created this situation that we are in right now.. Lets move on and stop the divisive comments... True, its all the rebels that have failed somalia. But you must recognize that USC was the leading and the most powerfull of all these rebels, and with the right leader and the right plans, would have ruled somalia.
  16. NOT SINGLE ONE OF THE REER WAQOOYI WEBSITES HAVE NICE THINGS TO SAY ABOUT MOGADISHU OR KOONFUR IN GENERAL. INSTEAD, THEY TRY TO SHOW IMAGE OF MOGADISHE THAT IS HOPELESS AND FULL OF "MUSLIM TERRORISTS". REER MOGADISHU NEED TO BE INFORMED ABOUT WHAT THEIR BROTHERS IN THE NORTH THINK ABOUT THEM. SOME MOGADISHU WEBSITES HAVE NOW STARTED TO CHANGE THEIR VIEWS ABOUT HARGEYSA.
  17. DURING THE LAST DAYS OF SIYAD BARRE REGIME, PEOPLE OF XAMAR AND MUCH OF SOMALIA WERE EXPECTING MUCH FROM THE BIGEST REBEL GROUP IN THE COUNTRY, THE USC REBELS. BUT INSTEAD OF DELIVERING HOPE AND PROSPERITY FOR A PEOPLE TIRED OF THE CORRUPT REGIME OF SIYAD BARRE, USC DELIVERED DEAD AND MISERY. EVEN THE TALIBAN DID BETTER THAN THE USC REBELS SINCE TALEBAN HAD A FUNCTIONING GOVERNMENT IN AFGANISTAN UNDER THE RULE OF MULLAH OMAR, THE ONE EYE LEADER. STILL PEOPLE OF SOMALI DID NOT RECOVER FROM THE FAILED ATTEMPT BY THE USC TO RULE THE COUNTRY.
  18. THESE DAYS I AM READING SOME DESPERATE ATTEMPTS BY NORTHERNERS OR PEOPLE CLAIMING TO BE NORTHERNS TO GET A RECONITION, AND THE HEADLINE GOES LIKE THIS: "SOMALILAND FIGHTING ALQAEDA", "SOMALILAND OO MAXKAMAD SOO SAAREEYSA ARGAGAXISO XAMAR KATIMI", "WIILKA XAMAR KU DHASHAY KAN ADDIS ABABA AYAA IIGA DHOW". I WONDER WHAT WILL THE NORTHERNERS DO NEXT:::DON'T THEY REALIZE SALVATION LIES IN THE HANDS OF ALLAH ALONE!!!OUR HOLLY QURAN TELLS US:"But Allah will deliver the righteous to their place of salvation: no evil shall touch them, nor shall they grieve." (Holy Quran 39:61) "HERE ONE ARTICLE AMONG MANY FROM SOMALILAND THESE DAYS" by Rashid Nur, USA (from awdalnews.com) Somaliland can benefit from the strategies that have helped the State of Israel to prevail against enormous challenges over the past few decades: the constant security threat from neighbors, terrorism against innocent civilians, lack of diplomatic relations with many nations, and unreasonable demands by the international community (UN, EU, OU, and Arab League) are some of the challenges that Israel had to overcome in its modern history – despite the discrimination in Europe and genocide committed by Hitler on Jews. The Republic of Somaliland and its people have been facing the same challenges from its neighbors and international community. Somaliland survived the massacre committed by former dictator Siad Barre’s regime. The biggest security threat to Somaliland’s existence today comes from its neighbors – particularly Somalia. Somaliland is surrounded by nations that do not recognize its existence and are determined to destroy it, such as Somalia, Djibouti, and Eritrea. Egypt and Saudi Arabia have been waging a diplomatic and economic campaign against Somaliland interest. The international community such as UN, AU, EU, Arab League etc places unreasonable demands that are constantly hostile to Somaliland interest, such as numerous UN resolutions that call for the unity and territorial integrity of Somalia, which denies the existence of the Republic of Somaliland. Egypt has used its influence with Arab nations to isolate Somaliland presumably to protect Egyptian interest by ensuring the unity and territorial integrity of Somalia, which Egypt believes will neutralize Ethiopian influence in the region. Saudi Arabia has banned livestock imports from Somaliland, which devastated the local economy in Somaliland. Djibouti and Eritrea have committed to protect the unity of Somalia, and have trained militia that attacks Ethiopia from Somaliland borders, fully aware that Somaliland does not have the capacity to stop all of them at its border. The terrorist organization called Al Jihad organized terrorist cell in Somaliland who murdered five foreign nationals in Somaliland. Fortunately those terrorists were apprehended by Somaliland security and are currently on trial in Hargeisa (Somaliland capital). The international community particularly the United Nations had been demanding Somaliland should negotiate with and reconcile differences with murders, warlords and thugs who do not respect and value the human life, many of whom are responsible for the death of tens of thousands of Somaliland people. This is similar to asking the people of Israel to negotiate and reconcile with the remnants of the Hitler regime. Somaliland is desperately in need of a friend in the international community that can help with the security threat from its neighbors, economic embargo imposed by Saudi Arabia, and recognition for the Republic of Somaliland. The people and the State of Israel is a suitable friend for Somaliland. It is incumbent upon the Somaliland leaders (government, opposition parties, traditional leaders and NGO’s) to work diligently in seeking to establish opportunities that would facilitate relationship with the State of Israel. The Ambassador of Israel in Ethiopia have arranged a humanitarian assistance for young Somaliland boy to have heart surgery in Israeli hospital about a year ago and the entire nation of Somaliland and its people have showed gratitude and appreciation for the gesture. The response from the people showed the positive attitude of the Somaliland people towards Israel. The people of Somaliland are convinced that the Arab countries in the Middle East, Egypt, Djibouti, and Eritrea are committed to do everything in their power to prevent Somaliland recognition. My hope is that Israel will be open to establish friendship and provide security assistance to the people and the Republic of Somaliland. The people of Israel should know that Somaliland had not forgotten that Israel was the first nation to recognize the independence of Somaliland from British Empire on June 26, 1960. Somaliland is once again looking at Israel to lead the international community and offer friendship and security assistance to the Republic of Somaliland. The State of Israel would gain the friendship and the gratitude of the people of Somaliland for decades to come, not to mention the strategic value that Somaliland (access and control of red see) will provide to the interest of Israel. It is incumbent upon the Somaliland leaders (government & opposition parties) to work diligently in seeking recognition from the State of Israel by taking concrete steps to establishing long and lasting relationship with the people and the State of Israel. Somaliland is the Israel in the horn of Africa in terms of the challenges that are facing her today. Needless to say Somaliland needs a friend in the international community and Israel will certainly appreciate the predicament Somaliland is faced with, considering the history of the State of Israel with the same international organizations such as the United Nations and Israel will likely be more accommodating than Egypt and Saudi Arabia in helping Somaliland. The last two Somaliland administrations have both expressed the desire to establish relationship with the State of Israel, but have not done enough to follow it through with their expressed desires. At the same time it is time the Somaliland Diaspora makes contact with the people of Israel, NGO’s, and the diplomatic offices for the State of Israel and encourage them to establish official diplomatic relationship with the Republic of Somaliland. It is time Somaliland seriously evaluates its long term foreign policy in the middle east in general and particularly Israel to protect the interest of Somaliland. Rashid Nur rashidnur@hotmail.com
  19. NAIROBI (Reuters) - A worsening political crisis threatens to plunge Somalia back into war and open a new era of humanitarian suffering, experts say. Trust collapsed between the two opposing wings of its divided government many months ago, triggering a mainly rhetorical struggle for power as both sides squabbled over where in the failed state their administration should be based. That development failed to stimulate a forceful international response, due to growing disarray among interested foreign powers over how to handle the Horn of Africa country. But recent events have taken emotions inside President Abdullahi Yusuf's government to new levels of acrimony, and foreign powers will find it hard to remain aloof if warlords start settling their disputes through armed force, Somalis say. Worried analysts point to movements of pro- and anti-Yusuf militias, a huge increase in arms imports, assassinations of high profile Somalis in Mogadishu, the failure of a disarmament project in the capital, and increased activity by militant Islamists seeking to exploit a deepening power vacuum. "The ill-will of the protagonists has brought our people to the brink of another bloody war," wrote elder statesman and former Prime Minister Abdirazak Haji Hussen in a paper circulated among Somalia analysts. "Recent militia movements in the central region and reportedly from Ethiopia, and in Mogadishu, are clear signals that something ominous is about to unfold. "I alert the world community to brace itself for another catastrophic humanitarian situation and a flood of refugees." THRIVING ON CONFLICT If the country tumbles deeper into anarchy, the only winners are likely to be warlords skilled at thriving on conflict and militant Islamists who have adroitly used the political crisis to carve out a bigger role in Mogadishu politics, experts say. The government has been recruiting fighters across the country in recent weeks in what looks to many like the prelude to an attack on bases held by some cabinet ministers critical of Yusuf, many of whom are based in Mogadishu. Yusuf, on good terms with regional power Ethiopia, said he would persuade rather than force his critics, who include some Mogadishu warlords and powerful businessmen, to cooperate. But critics say the attempt by Yusuf, 70, to build a force is consistent with his past as a provincial warlord who has never shown flair for the diplomatic deal-making needed to build alliances among Mogadishu's fractious clan militias. Ethiopia, Somalia's historic foe, denies giving Yusuf military help, but witnesses have reported Ethiopian officers helping train Yusuf's forces in several places in recent weeks. Yusuf's opponents -- warlords and Islamists -- have reacted by reorganizing their own militias to form a united front strong enough to deter what they see as Yusuf's bid to impose his rule. "Abdullahi Yusuf's militarist approach to reconciliation has produced an opportunistic solidarity among warlords in Mogadishu," said Somali analyst Abdi Ismail Samatar. Some dismiss the effort to create a common front as a marriage of convenience to defend lucrative businesses including ports, airports, checkpoints, drug smuggling and weapons trading. But so big are the spoils, the alliance could well last as long as it takes to rebuff any attack by Yusuf, experts say. Yusuf's opponents want him and his prime minister, Mohamed Ali Gedi, to come and govern from Mogadishu. But Yusuf, whose political base is north-central Somalia, is working temporarily from provincial towns as he feels the capital is too risky. Earlier this year the U.N. Security Council declared that any hostile military action by any party would be unacceptable. But no major foreign government has bothered to repeat that message consistently at a senior level, partly because there is no consensus on how to restore the peace process, experts say. "WATCHING PREPARATIONS FOR WAR" Italy, China and Ethiopia are seen as closely allied to Yusuf. Eritrea, and some Arab states, are seen as allied to the Mogadishu group. Other major powers want to hold back funding for the government until it can agree where it should be based. "It is incomprehensible that the international community is inattentively watching the two factions prepare for war," said Samatar. Somalia has been without a central government since warlords ousted former dictator Mohamed Siad Barre in 1991. Most of Somalia has since been carved up between rival militias and hundreds of thousands of people have died from famine and war. Any conflict would trigger yet more suffering, Somalis say. The Food Security Analysis Unit, a project of the European Union and U.S. government, predicts the lowest cereal harvest in a decade in southern Somalia this year thanks to poor rains. It said one million Somalis, including 377,000 displaced people, urgently needed food to stay alive. "The entire southern part of Somalia (is) on alert status due to unsolved tensions within the government and reports of military build-ups," it said. "If widespread combat were to ensue it would have a devastating effect on human lives and livelihoods." ---------------------- AS YOU CAN SEE, IGNORANT AND TRIBALISTIC LEADERS ARE ONCE AGAIN TRYING TO MAKE SOMALIA HELL ON EARTH WITH THE HELP OF THE TRIBALISTIC, UNEDUCATED PEOPLE OF SOMALIA. VERY UNFORTUNATE INDEED!
