  4. Transitional Federal Government troops on Sunday entered the insurgent stronghold of Bakara Market in Mogadishu as some fighters from Islamist militant group al-Shabaab were seen withdrawing from their positions, officials and residents said. Fierce fighting could be heard around the market Sunday morning. At least ten people were killed and forty injured as the TFG took control of the main road linking the city center with the market, the defence minister said. A Bakara trader, who asked for anonymity, said three people were killed at the entrance to the main market as TFG forces pushed right up to the entrance. Major Paddy Ankunda, spokesman for the AU peacekeeping force (known as AMISOM), told Somalia Report that pro-government forces had taken control of a few streets inside the market area, and that operations would continue to expand territorial control. The government, backed by African Union peacekeepers, early this month launched a new push against al-Shabaab, seizing new ground and coming to within a few hundred meters of the market. Residents say that they saw several vehicles carrying al-Shabaab fighters, whose morale has been damaged by recent losses, retreat from the market. Al-Shabaab spokesman Sheikh Ali Mahmoud Rage Ali confirmed that some militants had left their positions for "tactical reasons". “We will the attack the AU and TFG, and we will stay in the market,” he said in a brief interview with a pro-al-Shabaab radio station. AMISOM had earlier called on residents to reduce movements outside government-controlled zones, and promised to minimize civilian casualties in operations to gain control of the market. Should the government manage to seize significant portions of Bakara, it would be a major blow to the insurgents, who rely heavily on taxes on traders in the sprawling business center - along with revenues generated from the ports of Kismayo and Marka - to fund their battle to oust the government.
  5. I'm soooooooooooooooo happy wallahi............. VIVA SOMALIA!!! Dowladnimo is round the corner............>> VIVA SHEIKH SHARIFF AND MR. FARMAAJO!!!!!!!!!!!! ;););)
  6. I don't understand some people in this thread! Are some of you guys thick....?? Let me put it simply for those........The cabinet of Farmaajo has created anti-corruption team.....the vice minister of finance did some investigation and has founded out that during 2009-2010 the former Cabinet that was led by Omar Abdirashid has lost over 300 million dollars....which is one of the reason that guy got sacked by Pres. Sheikh Shariif. I welcome Farmaajo's cabinet for their patriotic and genuine work! By the way the government has captured many areas in Mogadishu today and they are on the verge of entering Bakaraha Market........Nice Job.......! I'm soooooooooooooo happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are also cleaning the streets. Those pictures you are seeing is where they put all the rubbish which later be burned or dumped in a suitable place. Here are some more pictures........ The same UN's buildings and offices in Garowe and Hargeisa will be established in Caabudwaaq. The UN came to Caabudwaaq few weeks ago, seeing whether it's a safe place......they admired the city and praised the peace and security.........they have agreed to bring their offices to Caabudwaaq.......this is a good thing for Central Somalia......also the Prime Minister has ordered the UN's main offices in Nairobi to come to Mogadishu within 90 days.......which looks promising....! Here are some pictures when some of the UN's staff visted Caabudwaaq..............
  9. The people of Caabudwaaq have been cleaning the city for the last two weeks as they are hosting the Ahlu Sunna Wal Ja'ma meeting that is taking place in 1 July......also the UN will be openning their offices and buildings after they visited the city 3 weeks ago. Another Progress in Somalia.....!
  10. Azania doesn't exist LOL. There is no Azania in Gedo, Upper and Lower Juba....! Those soldiers in Gedo and the two Jubba's are TFG soldiers, and come under Sheik Shariff and Mohamed 'Farmaajo'.
  11. Mash'allah the foreign minister's building looks beautiful............20 years of bullets and grenades hitting this building has ended......... due to tight security and peace in government controlled areas.......I congratulate the government......for their constant progress let it be......military.....social......economic....! Don't tell me you believe these ridiculous old thugs, all they do is wait for money to come in from united nation. They carry books and pens to the parliament and each claims they are the ministry of some government department what a joke . So next time when you side with the government remember , these people are just alshabab in different inform . ....Open your eyes and see how Mogadishu is...things are steadily improving...I suggest you should visit the great THREAD...with the constant updates more often. By the way....PLEASE do not compare our government to Al Shabaab....no no no....!
  13. The government is 200 meter away from Bakara Market.....Mash'allah the government has made so much progress....they also captured many areas in Mogadishu and the rest of the regions of the country.....Insh'allah this year looks promising to Somalia...Alhamdulilah...!
  14. Oday Somali, Lets be simple. Somaliland will always be part of Somalia and should remain that way. Regarding Kilinka 5aad and NFD, you didn't get what I meant.....I said Kilinka 5aad and NFD will not be free from Ethiopia and Kenya due to Somalia being in flame....I never said Kilinka 5aad and NFD will not join Somalia due to Somalia being in flame.....cause Kilinka 5aad and NFD are still controlled by KENYA AND ETHIOPIA and Somalia's turmoil has made it difficult for their freedom.....however.....if Somalia was not in turmoil then.......those areas would been more likely free from KENYA AND ETHIOPIA and afcourse then will they join Somalia. But who is occupying Somaliland? They are part of a nation called Somalia....simple.....really.
  15. What is the situation in Borama, Awdal.....at the moment? Are their demonstration against Somaliland?
  16. Oday Somali, LOL Thanks for your opinion and thoughts........... UNITY? Some people have different intakes on UNITY........but Somalia today is in shambles due to disunity that happened 20 years ago.....let it be clan disunity in the 90s or ideological disunity in 2000-2010. However....breaking apart the country will cause the biggest bloodbath ever, if Somaliland is recognised! (trust me on that) Somalia is struggling today due to foreign countries powerful interference on Somalia....who is funding Al-Shabaab? Certainly not Somalis....who is causing political leaders to feud....?South Somalia is not lacking clan unity but......it is lacking power.....communication......and clean leaders..... Now to Somaliland or North West Somalia........why would their peace and progress be affected if they stop their independence dream and instead be like Puntland and Galmudug.....why are they fueling oil to the fire? Regarding Djibouti....when they got their independence the Somalis wanted to join Somalia....however the French and Anfar ethnic group.....prevented that to happen. Kilinka 5aad and NFD..........its a dream.......that is less likely to happen.....you know why?.......because Somalia is in flames......... UNITY is indeed MACAAN

I'm sure i will be waiting Other Muslims don't want to divide the country and cause further conflicts....other Muslims are suffering foreign interference....but...if certain people wouldn't had seeked division...there wouldn't had been war in SSC areas...there wouldn't had been border disputes with Puntland...there wouldn't had been Oromo's taking over Hargeisa....there wouldn't had been small children thinking they need VISA to enter their own country...what is soo good about being divided...?

  23. Going through all these 10 pages, what I have seen less of is the shukr of Allah SWT, please say ALLHAMDULILAH. Allah gives life and can end life...ilmo adeerayaalo Ilaahi ha casina ee uu shukriya Alle. Thank Allah and show gratitude to Allah. Allah SWT can in 1 second take away those things you guys are highlighting. Also make Du'a for us in South Somalia and the rest of the Muslim Umah around the world....indeed unity is what is compulsory for us Muslims and not division.
