    i watched this earlier today. its a little patronising at times. there are few factual mistakes but wouldnt it be nice if it was shot in Eyl, instead of Gibraltar. the entire film was informed by the white saviour narrative, almost as though he's not there for career progression but to save the Puntlanders from their plight. great to see they had a full Somali cast, including jareers. there was even time for a potentially evolving romance between Jay and the semi-vacant Mariam,  the wife of the biggest Mijeerteen pirate. Barkhad Abdi, despite being typecasted put in a worthy performance. all in all, the film was more about them than us. 

     

    its now avaliable on showbox, for those interested.

    the everyday mundane stuff eh. its thursday, so ill be playing football later on this evening iA.  it's the highlight of my week. 

     

    playing football is underated. its great for fitness and for making friends.

    tolow why's there an askari standing behind Masiixi Biixi. this sort of cult of personality looks bad for our democratic credentials. i understand he wants to project power but he's accountable to the people who voted him in. 

     

    nonetheless he spoke like a true statesman.

    Of course I agree with you 100 per cent. Change is needed. We'll see who will be appointed. We should expect a full reshuffle, although some will stay.

    its been a long campaign and to be honest we're all looking forward to the results. the election trails and the campaigning have been excellent and revolutionary. its been many years in the making. a lot of time and effort went into the elections.

    its pointless issuing audacious statements to garner a reaction. you have very little knowledge of Somaliland, its dynamics, weren't there in person, have never been to Somaliland. you do not have a qualified privilege to discuss Somaliland or its politics.
