  1. Qatar has lost value in the eyes of the world in recent years. they abuse migrant workers as they host the most superficial world cup in living memory. its meddles in other countries affairs. its currently facing its greatest diplomatic crisis. its a small and evil emirship. the list could go on. but if this is a reminder of what we Somalis can take note off, i would like to remind you that such flashy, hollow and aesthetically  appalling structures will not heal the years of social crisis, internal strife, clan-based politics.

Now that I have watched the video, it seems the Somalia ambassador(most likely from the South) and his staff have gatecrashed the meeting between the Qataris and Mr. Mo Farah and unashamedly presented themselves as if they represent him and he represents them. It must have been very embarrassing for poor Mo. He should have told them in plain English that he represents Great Britain and not their Somalia.

low level behaviour. these people have no understanding of protocol. this is not diplomacy, its fan behaviour.

  3. its very obvious the 'villa silaanyo' has been photoshopped. in any case, Silaanyo has a number of properties he's built up through his long public service career. your deep-seated hatred for Somaliland and its progress, has you producing this sort of nonsense. there are more effective ways to hate something or someone.

  4. Happy New Year! I wasn't able to locate my own "happy new year thread" since the search functions on this site have been minimised with the recent changes.

Happy New Year guys. its hard to believe I've been on this site for 10 years lol.

Alpha we fought Siayaad Barre's government because of qabyaalad and oppression. I didn't support Somaliland's independence because of fear and hatred of others but because I thought we could build a country where the rule of law is respected, people are treated equality, the poisonous clan politics which caused the demise of our former republic is abandoned, freedom of the people is protected, and justice for all is promoted. I am afraid today Somaliland has none of those qualities to justify my continued support. What we have now is Siyaad's government but without its benefits and with all its problems.

Somaliland is here to stay and will not crumple with or without your support. if your support is/was conditional on the alleged treatment of a social media minor celeb, then it was shaky all along.

If you buy outside, you can't get electricity and water right? So what is the point?

  7. Tolow how is land size measured in Garowe? it's important to establish that first before making any decision. similarly it's worth knowing how the local municipality Dowlada Hoose ee Garowe works, there's probably all sorts of laws to comply with. it's a small but very built up city with restrictions. so i wouldnt be surprised if its expensive. this is a great way to increase govt power and to control the land market but one ought to be wary of speculation too. there's an entire industry for get-rich-quick-schemers and speculators. my Puntlander mate was telling me that Amal Bank facilitates the purchase of land, look into that too.

these sorts of investments are really the first steps towards development. go for it Che. 👍
