Xaaji, it is interesting Karaash is travelling with the President on this trip. I believe the trip is mainly security related. Whether that "security" discussion includes the issue of Lasanod, I don't know. We shall see Awoowe.

My issue with President Hassan isn’t merely that he seems inept. It is that everyone else around him is corrupt, and his entire team in office seems to lack moral filter. Corruption is not something new to Somali politics and we have seen plenty of it in the past, but what is incredible about this account is how openly the perpetrators prey on their valuable targets, slobbering over anything in their way without shame. It is surreal.

It is common in American politics to see supporters of candidates getting passionate about the electoral process. American politics is rife with stories of shoving, shouting and animated exchanges during caucus time.
Mohamud Noor is a good candidate who recognizes that the Somali vote is never monolithic. He himself supported and voted for Robert Lilligren when Abdi Warsame was embarking on that historic run for city councillor. He doesn’t mind the heated debates his supporters are having with the Phyllis Kahn camp.
We shall see who wins that Senate seat in November. The Somalis in Minnesota have become a force to reckon with.

Beer-Gaal, you make great points Awoowe, but in principle I disagree with the categorization of "need". I think it is in the interest of both parties to come to middle ground on contentious issues not the least of which is the implementation of federalism.

You have to wonder! What is Alshabab's stand on this project? Did they speak out against it? I do remember a while back when Alshabab blew up a solar street light donated by Norway.
