  1. ^^Lol. Yup. I cannot have myself is Eastleigh dhiiqoleey. Sxb I am back to Mombasa around the tenth and would stay there briefly Insha-Allah. I kinda like the road between Mombasa and Nairobi so I will frequent Mombasa. Emperor, NBI's real estate is over-rate I tell you. Xaafado like California are popping up everywhere. Expensively built by Diaspora Somalis, the race for real estate is making the local far from ever buying a house here. But Mombasa's real estate is so far good. Somali crazy buying hasn't hit it yet. Possibly because all business is concentrated in NBI. Insha-Allah will give you insider info when I get back to MSA, Insha-Allah. This is somewhere near Voi: Baobab tree.
  2. Faarax, no its outside Mombasa. Call you recall where this Mosque is situated? Faarax, no its outside Mombasa. Call you recall where this Mosque is situated? For Northerner, click here Munira, yeah. Actually there are alot of TZdis in Mombasa. Mombasa is the second home of Tanzanians- only abit prettier. Emperor, Munira and LOZ...seems I have reminded you of good old days (for LOZ of qoxootinimo ). Haneefa iyo Sharmarke lol. Well, what do you know, might just get myself a job with the tourism board over here. PS: Haven't posted much these last days 'cos there is a Mungiki hunt. I had to flee inside Easleigh when suspected Mungiki escaped from Mathare and were being chased through the 9th St. Somali ileen waa fuley (including me ) ...kabtey meedey ayaa ka dacdey. Even few hours ago the gun shots could be heard not far from where I am staying. This is why I don't like Nairobi. Plus, it is election time and in order to get votes, it has been suggested the government is 'literally' killing Mungiki sect members. The president said the members would be killed- no needs for courts. Munira, yeah. Actually there are alot of TZdis in Mombasa. Mombasa is the second home of Tanzanians- only abit prettier. 3. ^^True say Emperor and thanks.
  4. Spot the man in the last picture lol. It could be anyone .
  5. ^^ . Look at them guns. And the only aiming I am doing for now is to this:
  6. Val, have you taken a stroll in the outback? I would give anything for nights in a quite outback Aussie ranch. Hope you enjoyed the trip.
  7. ^^Lol MsD&D. Oh yeah, my salesmanship has been praised before . To be honest though, meesha waa laysku sheegey and if you come, you may simply realise how many Somalis from dibbada are in the city purchasing land or starting new ventures- that is not to mention families coming to the city to holiday. It is a family friendly place unlike chaotic Nairobi. Malindi should even be better for you since you've had glimpses of it. Some say its heaven on earth. In all the coastal province, the environment is quite good (not to mention Mombasa is a clean city helped by its sandy soil compared to dirty Nairobi). Come to Mombasa, MsD&D . PS: Where to stay? Hmmm. I haven't tried looking since I have family here already but there an old family friend who has an exclusive hotel and lodging. Be warned though, it might coast you quite some dollars to stay there. Around 30 dollars a night. The locals complain about it but I believe it is worth it. Alternatively, you can veer off Somalis and stay in tourist resort- comfort guaranteed. That is if you are willing to cough up some of those pounds starshed away . Valenteenah, thanks sister. One cant help but enjoy him or herself . GM, lol. The Mungiki are rife in Nairobi. There are shootings everywhere. Although I come to NBI to visit family in Eastleigh, I plan to run away to Mombasa as soon as I am excused. Allamagan, sxb you should come by all means. Meesha Kismaayona wey u dhowdahay nooh . Hal dooni ayunbaa kaa xigta .
  8. Lol@Rokko. OK, guys leave Xanthus alone. I am sure she hasn't been milking the village Ari-Carbeed. I am now ready to believe that she has gone to the Miyi. You see Xanthus, I believe you .
  9. QL, alxamdulillaah. I have my feet grounded in Nairobi now and boy am I glad to be out of London. Wax kale iskadaaye, waxaan ku quraacdaa beer geel . Talking of geel, sxb hurry up before I go for my geel-jire boot camp in Isiolo soon to slurp some fresh caano geel oo xurbinaya . But before that I have to make sure you guys are in NBI. PS: QL, I couldnt stop taking pictures sxb. I simply cant. I love the wilderness and the skies and every second I spot a beauty that I must capture. So, I cant be blamed if I forget about humans . Rahima, Mombasa is a good place to live. I loved it really. And Malindi (dominated by Italians I was told) is another good spot to visit. All I can tell you is that the Down Under has nothing on Kenya . You should come to Kenya, Rahima. As I am aware now, many (some from SOL) are heading towards Kenya to enjoy the African sun. This country is a beaut (as the Aussies say) . As for not being able to visit Somalia, I know it is painful but simply visiting Mombasa beach would make one feel better. Surprisingly, most of the kids (and men) playing football on the sands of the beach are Somali. Didn't know Mombasa had such a large Somali population but it has and it is reassuring. Moreover, Mombasa is a city of Mosques, beautifully built mosques. The buildings and the culture resembles Arabic architecture and culture. Afterall, the inhabitants of Mombasa have their origins in Arab traders mixing with the locals. And they are a peaceful people. North, lol. Yup! Sun, Sea, Mangos and coconuts. That is Mombasa for you. Maasha-Allah it is blessed with good food and (especially) fruits. If you get the opportunity by all means visit Kenya. Lol, I sound like I am an employee of Kenya's tourism ministry but hey, Kenya's beauty speaks for itself .

  11. I am not a soothsayer but I warned against reer Sanaag supporting the TFG and Cade. In this forum, I have made it clear that the current corrupt Puntland admin and the TFG would only seek their economic and political gains at the expense of all other Puntlanders except themselves. We have seen Majiyahan before which was a hunt for mineral resources and now another conflict is looming dangeriously because some boys want to burn charcoal in Qalwe, Sanaag and the locals object to this overture. As a result, there is a built-up of men and armour in the are of conflict. The last thing this region needs is another conflict between neigbours by a corrupt regime. I said before to some of you in this forum that soon as Cade and yey secure the support of the Ethiopians, they would turn on those near them, which is basically what they are doing now. Even more expedient for them, today they have secured the privilage of being able to direct American bombs to whoever does not submit to them. Baargaal is a case in point. I hope this conflict is resolved before is gets out of hand. ----- RADIO LAASQORAY:- Wareysi ku saabsan Ciidamada kusoo duuley Qalwo ee Gobolka Sanaag Radio Laasqoray:- Deegaanka Hawdka ah ee Qalwo oo u dhexeysa sadexda magaalo ee lakala yiraahdo Buraan, Balibusle iyo Kaladhac ayaa maanta waxaa soo galey ciidamo beeleedyo aan u dhalan Sanaag oo ka yimi Qardho iyagoo difaacaya isla niman iyaga ka tirsan oo lebisan direyska ciidanka Puntland.. 13. Faaraxs have becom celebrities as of late, haven't they. I await for autographs to sign . Chop chop ladies .
  14. A pure and polished leather whip should keep the love alive. Take it from me gentlemen, it is one thing constitutive of 60 hard to achieve things. Waa iney kaa kaadkaadiso markaad 5 mile u soo jirto . PS: I am only joking ladies. I blame it on Africa . I am after a theoretically hopeless romantic myself.
  15. ^^JB, are you still in Hargeysa? Adiga meesha ma macmaac baad ka furatay waa adigan ku raagaye. Misna howla kalaa jira . Xanthus, lol so you landed in Burco? Ain't that wonderful? You went to miyi you say? You? Nah! I have to see the pictures first. PS: Enjoy yourself.

Meeshan Africa marka la joogo there are too many things going on. Seems like the materialization of the theory of organized chaos. But its what makes one feel right at home. It is not so bad for you, Rahima. You've been to Xamar just a while ago. I am sure that compensates for all your longing now . Will try to enjoy myself mate (forgot you aussies are fond of the word mate )
  17. ^^North, thanks sxbow. Not this time bro. I am not staying here longer than necessary this time. I have some stuff to sort out in the UK before I can make myself at home here, which is something I hope to do in the near future. Xiinoow waa runtaa. Somalis have made great strides in the sector you have mentioned. To be quite honest, they have even become a source of employment for a great number of Kenyas who prefer Somalis to their former Indian boses. As fellow African employers, Somalis have come to be known as being less disdainfully in comparison to their Indian counterparts. Somalis being Somalis and always at a hurry, usually jump to the help of their Kenyan employees-something indicative of the Somali employers empathy toward his fellow African. Furthermore, as a tuktuk driver told me, while in the past he could never dream of wearing jeans due to their high prices in the high street(dominated by Asians from the Indian sub-continent), now, Somalis have made him a happy man by importing alternatively affordable clothing and commodities. And this act of Somali importation is thusly appreciated by many middle and low income Kenyans. Stories such as this are plenty and inspirational. Knowing how disdained Somalis are abroad, I couldn't help but feel humbled. PS: Sxb- it is not that the thought hasn't crossed by mind. It did but as you know meeshii Kismaayo ahayd qeylo ayaa ka taagan. I spent nights in Mombasa thinking how good it would have felt I spent these nights in my own Kismaayo! It is heart-breaking not to have a secure homeland sxb, especially when you have travelled from far and have come so close to it. I am at pains with the fact that I can lay my feet on the beloved soil of Somalia. Shame, really.
  18. ^^Viking , lol yup! Malindi Xalwa has long been praised. But it just doesn't beat Kismaayo Xalwo with a bit of loos . Insha-allah, will get some sweets from the Pwani to share with you guys in London. Insha-Allh, I am looking forward to Lamu and Kilifi. Will see how they turn out to be. Check this: http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa148/Jamaal11_bucket/DSCF0455-1.jpg PS: I travel in Matatus in Nairobi and Tuktuk in Mombasa. So yeah, I am feeling the vibe and I am enjoying it. As usual, Kenyans are welcoming, civil and extremely comedic. Just one time while travelling between Nairobi and Voi, the bus stopped for two Somalis to get off. One of the younger men lost is Ul and it took him ages to find it. The passengers, two of them Kalenjin, were astounded upon learning that the wariyah has keep the bus waiting for a mere stick! What came out of one Kalenjin was: ay! Si ange rokota moja huko kishakani!. All the passengers (mostly Somali) burst into rupture of laughters. From then on it was a jovial comedic exchanges between the Somalis and the Kelenjin men. Hilarious. Xiin adeer, NewPeople is still operational. Actually I used to travel from Docks just to enjoy the scene of Somalis going about their business. It is endearing to be an observer of business activities and transportation dealings involving high-voiced macawuus clad Somali men going about their shouty-communication. It is really a beautiful feeling seeing Somalis in business especially that of transportation. As you know, there is also the famous Markiti, which is Mombasa's version of Garissa Lodge. I was impressed by Crown Bus Services own by a Somali. It might be a bit expensive for some but their management is really professional. They even distribute mineral water made especifically for the Crown Bus Services- on which the bottles give you on the W.H.O considers to be 'Oxyrich' . To board the bus, one must produce an identity card and just before boarding there is a metal detector used to ensure that the passenger's safety is paramount. Their seats are well-spaced and comfortable. On top of these, they have receptions with good seating where people sit, pray and use the bathrooms if need be. After using their services for several times, I couldn't help but feel excited that it might be from Africa that Somali skills in business management and administration will be inovated and might soon influence others abroad. Crown Bus Services is only a case in point, but there are many things that have impressed me here about Somalis. Similarly, there have been things that have depressed me in Nairobi (Eastleigh) than in Mombasa. Will tell you about it later.
  19. ^^Lol. Well, I am here for a serious business. Family reunion, isn't it serious enough? Northerner, this is the first picture I posted (uploaded to flickr). This is the view I have from my balcony; Sxb uploading pics to the PC is generally a pain in the neck. It takes ages and I can't sit in one place more than 20 minutes. Even worse, SOL proves really hard to access.Time is pleasure, you see .
  20. Rahima, thanks sis. Elysian, thanks. Will keep you updated Insha-Allah. Haven't started writing anything yet. Will do so soon as am back to Nairobi tomorrow, Insha-Allah. North, will be using photobucket instead. Here are some pics; lool@Faraax. Adeer that cracked me up. It was just yesterday that I went to Bondeni to a small fresh juice place called 'Camel's Joint' to have a scurd . While sitting there many places were suggested including the ones you mentioned. Insha-Allah will update you on how it goes. I'll be back to mombasa after a shortwhile in NBI. Will also try to trek in Maryooleey land up north to get you some pics.
  21. Viking, Lol, I was in the sea sxb. Jumped into the sea with my mobile . Bro, Insha-Allah I am planning to visit the places you mentioned. Actually I did visit many places and today I have hired a car which comes with a driver for the day. I intend to visit Fort Jesus later on Insha-Allah. North, your friend would find Mombasa the best place to start a business (real estate) and hotel lodgings. There is also a good atmosphere for both living and visiting. The place is simply good. The only downside is in some area, there is some humidity- but if he can afford it, he should find properties aligned to the sea. The breaze is refreshing and enjoyable. Sxb, I can't use other sites to load pictures- image shack isn't working for me for some reason- but I will try to upload the pics to my photo blog and from there paste them here. N/AA, Insha-allah bro. I will post some more photos of Mombasa. I am sure you would like the look of it. The food is absolutely delicious . Atleast you can look forward to that. And the beaches? There are camel rides on the sandy beach - the handlers speak Somali so no worries incase the camel runs into the sea with you Ayoub, thanks. Will do.
