  1. Buuxo dont despair, Here's the Original and a newer Version.
  2. Reminds me of a Friday Khutba I heard a while back. The sheikh emphasized that in these trying times too often our lack of appreciation clouds our judgments. Employing a couple of analogies he stressed that we often presume that our fortunes are a result of our choices, thus overlooking Allah’s Qadar. For instance, you go to a job interview and walk out an hour later with the Job. Now, do you leave there thinking, well I got the job because of my impressive resume, or because of my impeccable references, or do you say Alhamdulillah, I got it because of Allah’s will. I’m inclined to agree with him, for we are merely mortal and as such are all governed by Allah’s supreme will. P.s. Having a impressive resume or impeccable references is a choice we make.
  3. Amiin to all the Dua's, and may this blessed month be fulfilling
  4. Paragon, the controversy surrounding Finkelstein dates back to his post graduate days when he penned a doctorate thesis on Zionism. Therein, he strongly criticized the Jewish state and the displacement of the Palestinian people. Incidentally, that’s when he first surfaced on the pro Israeli group’s radar, and they subsequently labeled him an apologist. They have been gunning for him ever since. Ghanima, the portrayal of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the academic world is a major concern for the pro-Israeli camps. They fear the magnetic influence “apologist” professors wield and the podium which gives them access to sway the fragile minds of students. Hence, not only are “apologists” political views being scrutinized but their very means of livelihood are being infringed upon- from discrediting their scholarly achievements and literary contributions, to stacking the deck against tenure candidates, in essence blacklisting them. The time, effort and manpower they put into this is very illustrative. Here's one of the many ways they achieve this, including soliciting students help Ah Elysian, fanning the flames with the El Diablo speech huh. You might appreciate the irony in this next picture of Edward Said, from the Ivy League halls to the forefront of the conflict. The caption reads “Doing his part for the Jihad, Said throwing a stone at Israeli soldiers”
  5. ^^ I have it on good authority that Geedi is headed in that direction. Furthermore, him and the old jackal are not in good terms and each of them are covering their bases, pending an imminent showdown. Don't be suprised if new alliances are forged.
  6. Norman Finkelstein finally decided to resign after being denied tenure by Depaul University. Despite having academic heavyweights like Noam Chomsky and Edward Said and a slew of other respected scholars advocating for him, they still cut him loose. The Jewish Lobby groups and their lackey Alan Dershowitz must be having a field day, their persistant bickering cost this man his job The long-running battle between outspoken professor Norman Finkelstein and DePaul University administrators ended Wednesday as the two sides agreed on a private settlement, cutting short a planned day of protests. But the underlying struggle between supporters of Israel and champions of the Palestinians continues, not just at the North Side campus but across the academic world. Finkelstein's case attracted far greater public attention than tenure struggles usually do, with supporters across the nation demanding the Catholic university grant him tenure and detractors just as vehemently insisting he be fired. Wednesday's settlement did little to calm those waters. Read On. Here's a must read debate between him and the former Israeli Foreign Minister Debate
  7. Petitions I'll sign it, and be more than glad to forward the link to all my contacts. Start the ball rolling MMA, it takes less than 5 mins to fill out the sponsor information, target information, petition content etc....
  8. Without a doubt, Lothar Mathaus has to be my pick. His record speaks for him. Matthäus evolved into one of the most successful footballers in history. With Bayern, he won the championship seven times(1985 - 87, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2000), the DFB Cup three times (1986, 1998, 2000) and the Uefa Cup once, in 1996. 'There are very few players in the history of Bayern who have done so much for the club,' Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said in praise of Matthäus' efforts Matthäus won 150 caps for Germany, more than any before him, and a record likely to stand for a long time yet. For Bayern, he made 302 Bundesliga appearances, scoring 85 goals. In 1990 and 1999 he was German footballer of the year, also collecting the European version of this honour in 1990. Still in 1990, and again in 1991, he was named World footballer of the year. He is one of only two players to have appeared in five World Cup finals
  9. ^ Lol, you 2 are at each others throats and there's still way to many fixtures to go. If I were you guys Id be worrying about Nafta, she is a major threat.....Good luck
  10. I’ll share with you the sentiments a wise, ageing nomad once shared with me regarding our language. The discourse of poetry The beauty of Geeraar The structure of Jiiftada The sweet songs of Heello The literary creativity The appropriate proverb Indispensable to eloquence Now your turn good Comrade, are these reasons good enough to warrant its survival?
  11. The law is active in 11 countries so trying to get the law defunct would be a monumental task. I highly doubt Austria which played a pivotal role in the holocaust, would easily succumb to setting a judicial precedent in terms of overturning the statue He has been hung out to pasture......
  12. Im infatuated with this lady's voice. The indie circiut is not doing her justice. Leela James
  13. Ah I cant trash talk this time, my season is over, ill be lucky to even make it in the top 3. Good luck guys. 187 nice playing.
  14. ^^ Dont you find this a major contradiction regarding the recent uproar? Mods, quick cleanup job thx.
  15. I have to hand it to you (insert clapping graemlin here). Your ingenuity when it comes to creating straw-man arguments is very humorous. You not only reject a rebuttal (courtesy of the same median you referenced mind you), but you take it a step further and discredit the source with completely irrelevant information. Ah the irony. So what would you like to discuss other than your failure to admit you are wrong? 1. The Shiites corrupting the heads of Al-Azhar School 2. The political role the heads of Al-Azhar School play in supporting the likes of Sadaat, et al 3. The mufti of Egypt and his stand on selling alcohol in the west 4. Or the “fatwa’s†that were based on nothing but personal rayi I hope you take the advice everyone in this thread has given you. I’m done.
  16. ^^^ Saxib Soma Inc, good job at instigating. War Hedhe 187, im just calling it like it is, take a look at my roster and you’ll see. I don’t need an excuse for loosing, it’s the law of average my friend, you win some and you lose some. Like I said earlier, my injuries and lack of bench strength couldn’t come at a worst time. The double header we face can make or break either of us, good luck.
  17. ^^Which is it; you don’t truly comprehend what everybody is telling you, or your suffering a case of selective reading. Nobody is discussing shias differences from mainstream Islam. Majority if not all responses are merely pointing out that your sweeping verdict of labeling Shias Kufars is null and void. The crutch of your argument is based on what “the scholars of this religion have said†One kind nomad even reminded you that the scholars are human and are prone to error just like you and I, but yet your still hell bent in driving your straw man argument home. Walaal, since your persistent in quoting the scholars, lets play your game of google, and plant the seeds of doubt in your head. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you what the holy Quran says about “when in doubtâ€. The below Fatwa was announced on July 6, 1959 from the Head of al-Azhar University The Ja'fari school of thought, which is also known as "al-Shia al- Imamiyyah al-Ithna Ashariyyah" (i.e., The Twelver Imami Shi'ites) is a school of thought that is religiously correct to follow in worship as are other Sunni schools of thought. Muslims must know this, and ought to refrain from unjust prejudice to any particular school of thought, since the religion Allah and His Divine Law (Shari'ah) was never restricted to a particular school of thought. Their jurists (Mujtahidoon) are accepted by Almighty Allah, and it is permissible to the "non-Mujtahid" to follow them and to accord with their teaching whether in worship (Ibadaat) or transactions (Mu'amilaat).
  18. And the champs go down, rejoice guys. Good game Soma Inc, that strange formation of 5-4-1 seems to be working for you. For some reason I’m plagued with injuries, and it couldn’t be at a worse time. I have 3 players with skill sets of 5+ who are injured and will not be able to face the soldiers. I have a feeling I wont be able to limp throught this unscathed. 187 bring it on bro, your facing my 2nd string, you better win your reputation is on the line.
  19. Brother Sayid, since your adamant in labeling people "miskin†and “ignorant†and "lacking knowledge", why don’t you enlighten us with your vast wisdom. Politely mind you, not with the flagrant ad hominem attacks you have thus far portrayed. I hope that’s not to much to ask. They're kaafirs and disbeliefers who believe in alien doctrine and dogma of that of Islam. People have to weak up and see the reality Wrong. They are your muslim brothers. The Theological and practical differences from mainstream Islam does not justify nor constitute you branding them “disbelievers†and “kafirs†Kyar, brother im impressed by your passive tone in this thread. Forgive me, I couldnt help it
  20. This thread reminds of a song by the ageing hottie Tina turner. Oh whats love got to do, got to do with it What`s love but a second hand emotion What`s love got to do, got to do with it Who needs a heart When a heart can be broken
  21. War Northerner Aka Rafa, im going to hand it to you, I never expected a draw...I was under the impression I was going to demolish your squad. Good playing. I wasted to much money on a moody defender, who plays superb one game, and crappy the next...he's on the chopping block as we speak. Warye 187 stop analysing their teams , let them do their own homework
  22. ^^Not necessarily Labo X. The silsilaado you seek are controversial and any literary value they may hold are grossly overshadowed by repulsive qabiil stereotypes. Qiimo iyo sharaf midna ma yeelato suugaanta haddii ay ku dhisan tahay qabiil , at least that’s my opinion. Be that as it may, I will indulge you in Hurgumo, Guba I believe you've already found. Hurgumo was a chain of approx 10 poems between Khaliif Sh Maxamuud and 6 other notable poets, namely Maxamuud.M. Yaasiin (Dhaarbaxo Jin), Cali Cilmi Afyare, Cabdille Rage, Cali Xasan Aadan (Banfas), Maxamuud Dheeg, Aden abdi Ahmed, and some unknown guy. You will not find the Silsilaad in its entirety, from first poem to last on the net. You will have to identify each individual poem by author and link them in succession, to make up the whole enchilada (this may be the case with the other silsilado you seek) Almost all are noted below with exception to Khaliifs 2nd response to the verbal volley he was showered with, as a result of his first poem. Cali Banfas’s poem, and the other unknown guy I couldn’t find as well. Khalif initiated the war of words with hurgumo. Herein he did not spare any Somali Qabiil with his stereotypical insults. Our present day controversial Toogane pales in comparison to Khaliif. The distinct difference is Toogane berates his own lineage, while Khaliif praises his and vilifies the others. He’s credited with coining many phrases including the now infamous distasteful phrase.... $$$$$ marduf qaada helay waa majnuun falane. All but 1 of the responses came from poets who were not acquainted with each other, and hailed from different regions of the country. Dhaarbaxo Jin who hailed from the north was the first to reciprocate with Magac Jab .Dhaarbaxo Jin responded to Khaliif twice and many feel he won this battle of words with muurti and asluub suugamed, whereas Khaliif lost due to vulgarity. This is his second response where he belittles Khaliifs style of poetry. In the stanzas below he acknowledges the caliber of poets that have emerged from clan x, and insinuates that Khaliif will never be able to fill their shoes, and sees no point in arguing with him. Raggiise aan la maansoon lahaa aakharo u meerye Raagihii mudnaa iyo Qamaan mawdki baa helay'e Seyidkii murtida sheegi jirey meel fog buu tegaye masalooyin Cali-Dhuux lahaa iima soo marine ismaaciil Miriyo Cumar Dagaanan kaga masuugeene Adigana inaan kula murmaa way macno la'aane Next to answer the call of duty was Maxamud Dheeg who hailed from the north. ( This gabay is incomplete, but you shouldn’t have a hard time finding a fully recorded one) Unlike Dhaarbaxo, he further divided Khaliifs clan , stating that Khaliifs lineage was not acclaimed for its poetic prowess, ergo asserting he was an amateur. Here are 2 stanzas minus qabiil names. Haddaan lays makeekiyin xaqana laga mildhaawaynin Murti gabay $$$$$$ waysugu majiibnaaye Maandhoow $$$$$$$ ways midha naqaanaaye $$$$$$$ marar waa tirshaa maanso loo boga'e Midna ma tihid saddexdii qolee loo malayn jiraye Maandhoow Khaliif gabaygi wuu kaa maroorsamaye Cabdulle Raage who hailed from the south was next in line to fire back. Unlike his predecessors whose responses where, but not limited to khaliifs style of poetry, the bulk of Cabdulle’s response concentrated on the myths surrounding Khaliifs clan, stooping to Khaliifs level. The 3 stanzas below are about that. Dad maxaysato ah lama tirsado, oo masaafuray Ayagaaba malagood galoon, madax bannaanayn Maansada masala-gaabka, iyo mala carruureedka Malxiiskaan mashxaradda u tumeen, marin abaalkeedi Adigoo muruxsan oo qaawan, aa meel lagaa helaye Maraay aa lagaa soo dejiyey, maalin duhurkiiye Markhaatina waxaa lagu hayaa, maqalya taariikh Adigoo maqaar bahalleh, iyo aadmi madixiisa Markaan ku arkayaan kaa samray, oo kaa mural jabay Murdisadi aad iga taabatay, aan mayray toban jeer Of all the responses Khaliif got, Cali Cilmi Afyare’s poem Mashiiqsi definitely struck a chord with me. Cilmi Afyare who shared the same lineage with Khaliif was very offended at his kinsman’s attempt to drive a wedge between somalis. He ripped him apart limb for limb, chastising him, and even said " Magacaa ba'yaye ma adigaa, ila $$$$$$$ ah? The bulk of his retort was defending the other qabiils that khaliif insulted; complimenting each for their attributes. He was trying to put out the fire Khaliif ignited. The next 2 stanzas tell how shocked, and appalled he was when he heard hurgumo, and this was not what he expected from Khaliif. Maansooyinkaad tirisay iyo, gabayadaad miista Macnihiyo ujeeddada kolkaan, aad u kala miiray Hadduu adiga kula miiggan yahay, maaha kaan rabaye Murre iyo wuxuu ii dhadhamay, midho dhunkaaleede Mullaax baan ka waayiyo waxaan, sii macaansado e Dhegahaygu goortey maqleen, waan mashiiqsadaye Labo X. That is the saga Khaliif incited, minus the couple of poems I mentioned above. Word of advice, appreciate the literature, and discard of the vulgar innuendoes.
  23. Sweet victory, the Indomitable African lions prevail. Although it’s not in my nature to gloat, bare with me. I recall stating that I was rusty but not incompetent. I take that back, I am damn competent, and a heck of a manager  Where are the nay sayers now? Attention leaguers we degenerate strife (sincere) will be showcasing our 21 year old invincible superstars skills during a friendly match against bushwackers fc (gediid) on the 13th. Come watch this young upstart dismantle the bushwackers defense. All are welcome to come and gawk That was my first press release and you guys should have paid heed to it, boy did I predict right, Louis Enoka lead the league in player stats all season. This season be forewarned , Roger Milla is coming out of retirement, and we will defend our title. Nice playing guys, and soldiers we will beat you this time around, and dont think you'll get much of a headstart P.s damn, even the team Hot-o-meter on my page is exploding.
  24. A sales person offered the team to try out a new sport drink for free. The players thought the drinks smelt odd and asked the sales person to taste them himself which he refused. The drinks were clearly an attempt at sabotage but who could be behind it? Ok, whose the guilty party, confess and I might spare you on the pitch! Warya Marauders, never pegged you as the type to prematurely throw in the towel. The 3-1 humiliation must have been the last straw huh...
