  1. Jac, Its approaching lunch time and i can smell the chicken curry from my window. But one must be patient and steadfast.

  3. Today will probably be the most difficult day of ramadan. After a year of indulgance, its so hard to break normal habits. I am already struggling... but one must be patient!
  4. Sometimes living in London can be the best thing in the world. Its a large city and attracts so many different people - which is reflected in its cultural diversity and hertiage. Its has become the ultimate destination for somalis around the world. Some are attracted by its social provisons, others by employment opportunities, family reunifications and the like. I understand many of you live around the world. In Somalia, Africa, Middle East, Europe and North America. Why are you attracted to these places, what makes your city and country attractive to live. Would you live in London if you had the choice? Some of the people in this forum live in places like Estonia, Ireland and Turkey to name but a few? Why do you live in these places. Wouldnt you rather live in places settled by other Somalis? Cheers Mr. Gello - The proud Somali Man
  5. ^^^ and your too cynical to appreciate something postive.
  6. fantastic post siphoningdilemma! finally someone with common sense!
  7. Originally posted by Che -Guevara: “Nowadays, in Britain, it is difficult for Somali girls to find Mr. Right. They have admirably risen to the difficulties we are in. They study hard and work hard but find difficult to settle down as there are no worthwhile men.” ^^^ Absolutely crap. Somali women in Britian are seeking perfection. with a bit of education and the democratic nature of the west, all of sudden they think they have the upper hand.
  8. ^^^^ mashallah a well expressed viewpoint which carefully considers the social changes in our society. I agree with most of what of what you said. I decided to post this thread after speaking to a female friend who vividly and passionately spoke about the massive increase in the revert marriage phenomenon. I too have noticed this worrying tread but a less extent. I am not entirely against these marriage as i am not in a postion to judge but i dont want our women chasing other men when there are so many good somali men out there. As i already mentioned, somali men are by no means perfect but its imperative that they safe-guard somali culture by marrying their own. I can possibly understand why some somali women run after other men of different races as they think the grass in greener on the other side but marrying outside your own race induces alot of problems. I have seen this first hand. Have hope sisters and belief in the goodness of somali men. Remain steadfast and marry your own. Instead of running away from your kind, have patience and hope in somali men. if you seen negativity in somali men you will inevitably become anti-somali, find goodness in the smallest things, however little! I think like caamir said, this thread should come to end, before this thread takes a racial dimension. We are all muslims but diverse. Thanks for all your responses. thanks and cheers caamir! Mr. Gello
  9. my concern is not the marriage of two consenting muslims adults, but the extent to which somali women throw themselves towards reverts when there are plenty of practising somali brothers. this has lefted me confused and baffled. So my question is: are somali women marrying for deen purposes or do they have something else in mind when marryinng people of other races. because we can clearly identify islam is not the issue here!
  10. I am not surprised to see peoples comments, especially somali females. I am sick of your attitudes and your revert-loving selfs, so if you wish go and marry your reverts. I tried my best but my warnings have not been heeded. For those of you who deem it funny to insult somali men, I pity you and you are nothing short of self-hating. Go and marry your reverts, we will see where it gets you. Just dont go to the motherland with you revert husbands and your children. You are not welcome! cheers Mr Gello
  11. Since it’s the Somali-women hate season, I thought I might as well add to the hatred by voicing something which has bugged me for sometime now. Lately there has been a tendency for Somali women to marry Muslim reverts. Although as a practicing man, I have nothing but love and respect for the marriage of Muslim sisters to Muslim brothers. I am concerned by the extent to which Somali women throw themselves towards any new revert to Islam in the hope of a marriage made in heaven. This is a worrying phenomenon and I think its very important we safe-guard the marriage of Somali women to Somali men. Why are young Somali sisters intent on marrying any new revert. What’s wrong with the plenty of good Somali men out there? As a Somali man, I have to admit, Somali men have plenty of short-comings but this shouldn’t mean that Somali women have marry other men of different races to find a successful Muslim men. My suggestion is Somali women need to be optimistic and realize there are plenty of successful Somali men out there! Marrying other races induces nothing but problems and we need to put a stop to this worrying phenomenon before its gets out of hand! Cheers Mr. Gello
  12. Classic Somali tune! Check it out! Sublime mix of words with rhythmic music! Love that xamar cadcad music!
  13. finally someone is not ashamed of the truth. alot of the members of this forum have taken political correctness to entirely new heights! it appears if you dont agree with the general consensus, you are in the wrong! sometimes the general consensus is wrong!
  14. not my somali sistas. I wont let me daughters marry even outside their own tribe let alone blacks and JMs!
  15. I once dated a black chick what an experience. I guess its okay for guys to date other races.
  16. A good person is someone who is morally conscientious, who knows the difference between what’s good and bad. Having said that, I believe there is no right or wrong just differences in opinions and choices.
  17. Nonetheless, here goes a question(s) worthy of your insignificance: do you measure your forehead space in inches or centimeters? What tribe are you from and which of the other tribes do you think should be wiped out? Do you think that eating a banana with your rice & meat is sacrilege? Naden I usually measure my forehead in inches and the last time i checked it was slightly above the average for a somali man anyway. I am from Somaliland. I dont believe in tribe as i think somalis are one and the same. I dont believe any tribe should be wiped out, I want peace and stability for somalia. I want to be able to say i am proudly from somalia. there have been times in the past when i had an inferiority complex amongst my proud friends. I wish Somalia was stable so that i can be proud! I am not a big fan of somali food to be honest. I like meat especially lamb and chicken, but i do think its slighly weird that they serve bananas with everything even at restaurants. What if you dont like banana. Sometimes Somali restaurants have a one-size fits all policy, there should respect diversity and difference. Originally posted by Brofessor_Geeljire: qolama tahay adeer? how many camels does your family own back home? Brofessor_Geeljire My family is quite well off in somaliland. We have alot of camels. They are mostly nomads but in recent years there has been a trend towards a move to the larger urban areas for a better quality of life. The traditional lifestyle is under threat unfortunatly! Originally posted by LayZie G.: lol@honesty is the game and gello is the name, catchy. Hello there Mr Gello Are you down with team LayZie? PS:Team layzie is for team jamaica LayZie G. I am always down for team LayZie G, althought i cant say i am a big fan of JM people. There is a lot of them in area. Apart from the rasta crew, I usually dont get along with JMs especially recently arrived one, the FOBs in other words!
