  1. Good morning all. What's new and exciting?
  2. LOL all this reminds me of the good old days
  3. Granted, I jumped the gun a bit. I agree with the eventual results. However tyler isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer if he needs to quantify and catalogue numbers and experiences to know that "a happy wife leads to a happy life". As far as #1 priority goes... there's room for misunderstanding as to what might constitute making your wife your #1 priority. To suggest that she is more important than all else might sound noble and ooey-gooey and all , but is she really the end all be all? towering above the rest? I live, eat, sleep for the her and only her?!? Any man might try that, but there's a reality check due on that. She's my co-driver in the rally of life but even she should admit for time to time she should slide into the back seat while "more pressing" issues are dealt with
  4. Feels a little scripted. like having a 'formula' for a relationship. "Here comes the wife. lemme look through my journal to see what I should do"
  5. LOOOOL!!!! They remind me of these guys " frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>

I think its a VERY real question to ask if this guy beats his wife, steals the kids money and generally neglects his responsibility because of khat OR does he chew khat because he doesn't want to work or be bothered with with wives and kids? Where's the proof to support an absence of this activity will translate to a presence in responsibility? And my opinion on the "My tax money shouldn't have to pay for this": Gimmie a break, you pay taxes to the govt, they provide service as they see fit. You get ill, go see a GP. this does NOT give you the right to decide who gets treated for what. Either way you don't get a refund for all the wayward addicts that get declined health services. Thats the cost of living where you live.

  9. I agree 100%, Alpha Salahudin;911634 wrote: I have a feeling that this rejection is due to effective lobbying by the Kenyan khat merchant lobbysts.... These guys are currently lobbying in the United States. We might just see a cautious easing of restrictions on it in the US as soon as they figure out how to correctly tax it.
  10. I guess 2.8m in tax revenue and 0 death count trumps his imagined impact. Moderate chewers aside, I've had the misfortune to see the people holed up in those marfishes and I'm in favour of keeping them there. I seriously doubt any grown-a$$ man/woman who prioritizes khat over all else will suddenly go out and get a job and bee home to tuck his/her kids into bed because of a khat ban. Awale needs to stop sippin' that haterade and find another cause...maybe polygamy....nope that one falls in the 'mind your own business' category too.
  11. LOL, that time could have been better spent sitting down to nice majin and shaah and discussing why they want to kill the buzz
  12. I never understood the need for a khat ban. like anything else, if you don't like it, don't part-take in it. Very progressive of the UK to adopt a hands off policy.

  14. Good morning from the deep freeze, Colder than a mofo today. Do you believe this shiznit! "Northern Ontario and Quebec were forecast to have wind chill values into the –30s and –40s, with wind-chill warnings throughout northeastern Ontario and through central Quebec, CBC meterologist Jay Scotland said." http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2013/01/23/canada-cold-weather-wrap.html
  15. Why is it pathetic? You may be projecting your own issues with clan on to us, but some of us are healthy enough to discuss clans with out it devolving in to primitve chest beating and skull cracking. reer somaliland - yellow teeth, with a somewhat disproportional nose to mouth ratio. reer puntland - have you seen abdulahi yusuf (A.U.N) well....minus the timo jilic hair! imagine aboriginal LOOOOOL reer unuka - gaunt, dark with a i'm-auditioning-for-blackhawk-down typical look. the term skinnies on the roof refer to them. apparently, during the great bantu migration 4billion years ago, their DNA developed a taste for blood. reer shaartiguuded - all look the same. the O'Reillys - a wild savage yeti but with only bigger feet. the dumber one of dumb and dumber. goofy teeth. Riiiiiight

  17. This is some pathetic bullsh!t. This thread deserves to get dragged into alley and shot.
  18. #6. Everyone in Africa Is Uncivilized or a Warlord In Hollywood movies, Africa is a shitty place to be. One of the most iconic scenes in action movie history comes at the end of Independence Day, when we see that the invading army of aliens has finally been defeated by a concerted, collaborative effort by the entire world (but mostly the U.S., and mostly Jeff Goldblum), and we get a montage of the wreckage on different continents. ...America gets a military base ... ... Australia gets some of that crazy architecture ... ... and Africa gets ... naked dudes brandishing spears? Apparently, this barren land is the closest thing the aliens could find to a major population center in Africa. That's because for Hollywood, the entire continent hasn't advanced much since Jesus was still around. The opening to Casino Royale, for instance, introduces us to Africa with the image of a bunch of black guys betting on a fight between a mongoose and a snake. The one area where Africans have caught up to the rest of the world is guns: They don't have any modern buildings yet, but they've figured out how to attach a rocket launcher to the side of a truck. This is only natural, since half the continent's population consists of corrupt soldiers. Congo, Black Hawk Down, Blood Diamond, Hotel Rwanda ... all these movies spend the whole time telling us that Africa is scenically beautiful, but terrible in every other way. So What's the Deal? In the same way that Hollywood needs to dumb down a novel to turn it into a hit film, they also dumb down Africa's reality, because they assume that you'd be bored by a realistic portrayal of the continent (or you simply wouldn't believe it). They do have things like poverty and corruption and giraffes in Africa, but they also have universities and industries and modern cities, like Nairobi: Imagine if every single movie set in America was filmed in Alaska and focused on gang violence -- that's how Africans feel every time they watch a Hollywood movie about warlords fighting in the desert. Which is a problem for their tourism industry: A board member for the Association for the Promotion of Tourism to Africa even takes the time to explain that there are "middle class people in every African country commuting to work every day, complaining about taxes and watching their kids play soccer every weekend." That's right: Instead of focusing on the rich wildlife and history, the tourism industry actually has to remind people that coming to their country isn't a ******* death warrant. http://www.cracked.com/article_20082_6-insane-stereotypes-that-movies-cant-seem-to-get-over.html

  20. What the hell did Spike Lee ever do to empower and uplift the "black man"? Granted he had some OK movies but nothing spectacular. And now he's following Martin Scorsese's lead to getting an oscar but blatantly plagiarizing ...oh I'm sorry, "remaking" an established Asian masterpiece. By the way, if you haven't seen Oldboy, WATCH IT. (hand's down the best "WTF?!?!" ending since the sixth sense) before spike and hollywood get to it.
  21. I liked the movie. it was fun to watch. Maybe since we don't come from a lineage of slavery, we don't understand the "portrayal" issue. I watched roots not too long ago and that was some sad depressing shiznit! If anyone should be mad at this movie, it should be white folks. Only thing I didn't appreciate was all the actual and 'almost' genitalia trauma. Totally uncalled for.
  22. Had my 10th birthday during my "hiatus" so waa ka weenaaday waxaan. but umm...yeah, go ahead and unchain your django.
  23. LOL @ Ngonge, I'm just "taking the mickey", as you Brits would say
