Ok Princess, Greedy much? I know you think you "deserve" a certain level, but maybe the giftgiver sees you at a different level. A gift is a voluntary act which does not require anything in return.
  2. Don't be mad, Obama is coming to get some tips on how its done

Saaxibka has read the intelligence text book part way. He's already past the chapters on: *Intellectual Speech preparation *Recognition of problems an obstacles *Persistence in the face of opposition Laakin weli waxaa udhiman a lot more chapters such as: *Formulating suitable solutions *Cultivating Original Ideas *Diplomacy *Modesty Give him time, he'll grow into those shoes. Originally posted by NGONGE: Underdog is top of his list. I was in it last week but got struck out in favour of Xiin. NG, what's the deal? You're practicing "Tactful Deflection" with me and Xiin? Is it fear of being targeted by the kid?
  4. Originally posted by Khayr: Saxibo, When did you get your PH.D in psychology? Khayr, I don't need a Ph.D, just some basic association skills. - The child and I share a biological bond - The Wife and I share an emotional/legal bond If we can't all get along, there's only one of the above bonds that can be broken. Besides no child of mine will be raised away from me. Malika, The patients in the section are well beyond my help.
  5. Originally posted by Isis Naomi: Men, if your first wife refuses to raise your children by your late second wife, would you divorce her or have them raised by someone else? **No trolling please** Read in a book huh? Whats the name of the book and its ISBN? NG hit the nail on the head. Is this dead woman a mistress or a 2nd wife? If she was a wife, then wife #1 has to raise the kid. The alternative being getting a new #2 to take the role. Because its safe to assume the reasons and situations that led to the acquisition of the original #2 are still present.
  6. Johnny B, The same way Darkness is the absence of Light so too Evil is the absence of Good So viewing them as 2 mutually exclusive elements is your mistake here. God didn't have to create Evil, He showed you the way and gave you free will....which is why all the evil you refer to is as a consequence of Men (and women)who have chosen to leave the prescribed path.
  7. QUESTION: Originally posted by chubacka: An if you expect the man to be speaking to different girls besides you, what happens when you decide you want to marry him, but he might actually prefer Miss 2 or 4? ANSWER: Originally posted by chocolate & honey: ... Most women would flip and issue an ultimatum. I think a policy of zero disclosure is required from the men. Say nothing and there will be nothing. Practice the age-old response of "I'm busy" "Want to go see a movie?" "Can't, I'm busy" Work very well.
  8. Originally posted by SCORPION_SISTA: C&H, Underdog, I don't think you got the right analogy there...He is done shopping for a romantic partner so there is no point window shopping in that department now is there Who said anything about romance? my analogy is still accurate. he's not shopping, just trying on stuff on and putting em back...not taking anything home.
  9. Yeah, that works both ways. there's xalimos who have a negative reaction when they hear a guy is looking into other options. I think its even stricter with women. Whereas a man would see other men as competition and step up his game to win the prize, the girls get defensive and start handing out ultimatums threatening drastic actions. tsk tsk tsk!
  10. C&H I think she means its was made very clear that you can window shop all you want, just don't go in the store to try anything on for size.
  11. Originally posted by Blessed*: Underdog, You've been rubbishing education for years n this board, what's the story there? It's not education I'm rubbishing...its what I see as a skewed expectation of education I've heard tossed around in here. I've always maintained education is a tool. A very useful tool but it means nothing without proper application. You could be an Astro physicist but still be a useless bum. So regardless of ability and preparation, potential means you're not doing anything right now. My reservations with parts of this topic is not about recognizing that some of the youth are getting left behind, but its the degree to which some people seem to think its an epidemic. Firstly, I think its unrealistic to think every Somali (educated or otherwise) will meet your definition of success. It doesn't work like that. Even though we know the potential is there and a majority of SOL members are evidence of that. As a few people have mentioned before, everyone will eventually have to self determine their path.
  12. Here's a question... If you had a son and he could be either a 1st rate electrician or a 3rd rate doctor, which would you encourage him to pursue?
  13. Originally posted by -Serenity-: Might as well add that he doesnt blv in educating women either That's not true... Chef, sewing, first aid and shiatsu massage classes are encouraged.
  14. I think "Overwhelming majority" might be a stretch. We might need more comparative numbers to show us the bigger picture. I think if we were to look at the Somali population in any of these communities, the number of university aged youth and the percentage of those in higher education against the ones who are not and do the same for other immigrant communities, we wouldn't be outside the normal range. Personally I think (from a Toronto perspective) we have respectable representation in institutes of higher education. The point you think I'm missing, Ashkiro, is the ones who could do so much more and seem to be getting left behind. What I'm saying is there will always be an amount of lost potential.
  15. “Definition of Statistics: The science of producing unreliable facts from reliable figures.” Captain, what is it that you would like to see? 100% successful Somalis? it doesn't work like that. Every race/society will have those that are motivated to achieve and those that are going to fail. we can't all be doctors and engineers, there has to be someone to do the grunt work, dig the ditches and some to occupy jail cells. That's the nature of things. So how about you put the brakes on your dreams of a Utopian society of above average citizens and lead by example. Some will follow, some won't.
  16. That's just HOSTILE! Personally I would forgive her. Then marry a young ignorant hottie as my #2 and seee how things develop. Should make for some interesting times.
  17. Khayr, Sounds like you have some info that might be useful...do share.
  18. Mchagua jembe si mkulima na Mchagua nazi hupata koroma CL, Both apply in this case.
  19. Whom? sounds like that whom be you.
  20. So if I don't mind her knowing I'm flirting with the teller at the bank or visually appreciating some woman on the street, then its all good?
  21. Let's back it up a bit. What's considered Cheating? Sexual contact is a given. What about other forms of contact? Is flirting cheating? would you forgive that? If your significant other confides in a someone else of the opposite sex more than you, would that be cheating? is that forgivable? What about an online relationship? he/she is always chatting with someone else online...what do you do? What about the "Wandering eye" syndrome? you catch him/her on multiple occasions 'check out' someone on the street or in the mall etc. is he/she cheating? what do you do? Do we all the same definition and understanding of what cheating is?
  22. No no Malika... the whole point is having something good at home but wanting to slum a bit here and there. If dude has Civic at home and takes a test drive in a Ferrari he's not coming back.
  23. Originally posted by GlassEyeGirl: He said, the hot dog is one of those street foods you crave for ones in a while, but you don't wanna have it for a meal everyday. Yup! Thats like having an S-Class Benz... that you drive with respect and great care. Every now and then you wanna leave the Benz home, Get a crappy little Honda Civic and drive it like mad man with no regard for anything that happens to it...

  25. As a matter of fact.... I had a blog for that same purpose. It started of well untill it became a haven for retards and socially handicapped individuals. So I "split the stock", started 2 'paying' sites....One for awkward guys to "Score the hottie in one try" and the Other one for harlequin reading women to "Find true love in a sea of false hope" After I while I questioned the morality of the endeavor and decided to leave it alone.
