  1. I haven't watched this video, but reading the comments I can get the jist of it. Markasta oo aad is dhahdid soomaali waxba u hagaagay labo talaabo ayeey soomaali dib u qadasa. Hadii midnimo iyo wanaag la rabin mala qofwalba intiisa ha iska jafjafto.

Axlam is an arabic name and the language of the Quran happens to be Arabic. Hence, our religion connects us to Arabs. What connects us to western names other than the fact we live among them now?..

Is there something noteworthy about adopting this cultures' naming practices as opposed to other cultures? - Axlaam, Najaax, and other BS baa nacay And the thing is we don't even live in Arab countries. Go for Joshua or Seth or whatever makes you happy. No one is forcing you to like arabic names. So chill out. Luqada diintena suuban kuso dagtayna miya garan kari weydey qimaheda.
  4. LOL ileen Sol was full of drama before I joined. Wlc back.
  5. Somalee as already pointed out converts get to keep their names after they convert. As long as the name means something good I doubt there is an issue to it. But, bottom line it is about intentions? ma gaalada ka dhawaanasa markaad magac gaalo ilmahaga u bixinasid? mise you simply like the name? My advice stick to Somali or Arabic names. I have seen Somali kids with English names, it simply doesn't suit them.

I hear the kids live on canjeero for breakfast, 2 slices of bread for lunch and canbuulo for dinner 7 days a week (Can anyone confirm that?) so that hooyo can make the monthly ayuuto. Lol are you saying the moms don't feed their kids and instead collect money for hagbad? Waxaas waxba kama jiraan. Hoyooyinka somaliyeed waxeyba ku daleen see caruur cunta ula daba ordayeen. But those hoyooyin or fathers have failed when they decided to raise their kids in poor neighborhoods. They can use the hagbad money for apartments in good neighborhoods instead of worrying abt buying homes in the motherland.

Aaliyah, thanks hun. Good to see you. If that is the case...ilaahay uma fududeeyo. Maxa danbiile logu duceenayaa? Habraha hagbadooda laga dhacay hadey jiraan uun baan u duceyn . Good to see you too.
  8. Underdog, I don't see what's wrong with paying taxes. One has to respect the laws of the country they reside in. Otherwise, they can easily lose huge amount of their hard working money.
  9. Poor lady. Perhaps, they will start using the bank oo wey jojinayan lacagtey barkadan iyo waxey kala qariyaan.

  11. What is shaloongo? Do you mean hagbad?

  18. I agree with Che that there is no substitute for good parenting. Similarly there is no substitute for good neighborhoods. No matter how good you are at parenting, if you are raising your kids in the ghetto ku talagal in environmentkaas ilmaha ka saameeso. Simply put, be a good parent and choose a good neighborhood despite the country you choose. Inta ka dibna Alle talo saaro. There are no gaurantees in life.
  19. Amiin. Alle khyr badan ha idinku simo.
  20. Axmed biif - Dalkaygu waa dooxanyahay.
  21. LOOL @Abtigiis. I remember being told a story that one of my uncles as a child gave away an item that belonged to my ayeeyo. He gave it to some random lady and asked her to deliver it to his mother (my ayeeyo). That was the last time it was seen LOL..Laakin waan kugu raacsanahay soomaalidu way is aaminta inta badana wax xun kama dhaco. Anuu Somalida sida horay losoo shegay waa dad dhaqan wacan oo deeqsi, wa dad iskuso dhoweysta somalinimo. I was visiting someone a while back in the hospital and I remember a Somali woman met me by chance and right away she asked me who am I visiting? what room are they in etc...? I did not know her yet I was at ease to tell her everything she asked including the room number. Within few hours she was with us reading Quran and what not. Somaalinimo waa priceless walee. I love my people.
