Where is that "Juba" guy when you need him? Mow down all these sons of b*tches, I say!!

An ignorant minority of Muslims believe this is an Islamic practice, while the other 99% don't, and many Muslims have spoken out against it. Yet, it's still the ignorant minority who the media listens to and talks about on the news and in the paper. Why?

Originally posted by Arawella: Adhering to the conventional methods of courtship such as meeting at my parents’ house or in the presence of others is simply out of the question since I am not ready for marriage nor inclined to be gossiped about by the local mongers. You're not ready for marriage? Then you've answered your own question. Get rid of the guy and when you're "ready for marriage"(trust me, no one is ever "ready" for marriage), then ask the guy to marry you. If he doesn't want it at that time, forget him and find someone else who will marry you. Simple.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/5107360.stm I was in another forum where I saw this BBC page posted along with the poster's opinion that some humans have become so "pathetic" they are worse than animals. While I don't really know the poster, I do believe he is a racist who most likely just as pathetic as the people he talks about in this news article. But anyways, I looked at the page, and it deals with women in Cameroon, Africa who perform something called "breast ironing" on their daughters, where the little girl is held down and forced to undergo "pounding and massaging the developing breasts of young girls with hot objects to try to make them disappear", in an attempt to "protect their daughters from the sexual advances of boys and men who think children are ripe for sex once their breasts begin to grow". Hmmmmmmm......does this sound familiar? Sounds a lot like FGM to me. Now, when I read the page, I didn't see a Muslim name anywhere. No Xaawo's, Safiyah's, Khadija's, Maxamed's, none whatsoever. Just a bunch of "African" names. Now how likely are you to associate this practice with the prominent religions in Cameroon, which are Christianity and "indigenous beliefs"? Probably never even crossed your mind until I mentioned it, right? So, why is it that when Somali people perform FGM(female circumcision), the practice is instantly associated with Islam? Why are we letting these people do it in the first place? What is wrong here? I believe that if the majority of Cameroonians were Muslims, this "breast ironing" practice would be immediately labeled a "muslim thing". Something for you guys to think about.... P.S. If anyone thinks I approve of FGM, they are sadly mistaken. I am against FGM in all forms.

^While I partly agree with your opinion, I do not believe that all poor people in Somalia should be given lenience just because they are poor. Somali's aren't the only miskiin people in the world, but they seem to be the only miskiin people in the world who would rather let their clan allegiances override their hunger, for if the Soomaali people got together and helped each other instead of killing each other and letting their clan "leaders" brainwash them into fighting for their warlord's personal gain and a lifetime supply of jaad, this mess would have been resolved a long time ago. It is not reasonable to say that since the whole country is poor, that the Sharia law should be scrapped because it's too harsh given the conditions in Somalia. Since we're on the topic of clan killings, why is it that when the wadaads try to implement some sort of law(I'm not learned enough to say whether it is Sharia or not) in an attempt to bring justice, Somali people are all up in arms and yelling, screaming, and claiming "this is not Islam" and "these Islamic courts are bullsh*t". While at the same time, most of us have no problem when Clansman A kills Clansman B out of revenge for doing or saying something about Clan A? It seems that no one bats an eye or gives a sh*t. Alisomali, you should think of this before you start talking about hypocrisy.

I know of quite a few Somalis who live in Fort McMurray and Yellowknife, mostly tagsiile's. It's funny how my wife and her friends say "Fort Mamuuri"

Someone who is thinking about converting to muslim....needs your help
Baluug replied to finestsista2005's topic in General
Wa alaikum salam finestsista, Tell your friend he is welcome anytime. If I didn't have people to help me along the way to finding Islam, Allah SWT knows what would've happened to me. As for the "convert club", if there was such a thing, I would probably have known about it, but i don't, so I don't think such a club exists. But he can always find the reverted bros and become friends with them, I guess that's like a club. -

Masha Allah, lots of links in here that will definitely help insha Allah..... Dear Christian, Almost 5 years ago, I was in your exact predicament. I found a beautiful Somali woman that I wanted to get to know better, but I was also not Muslim. I was keen on learning about Islam, for the sake of marrying her. I wasn't a Christian like you, but that really doesn't matter. What matters is that you need solid scientific proof that Muhammad was truly a messenger of God, and not a false prophet at all. I found it on this website..... islam-guide.com In Chaper 1, you see that the website looks into 7 different verses of the Qur'an(which was recited by Muhammad, an illiterate man, 1400 years ago, don't forget). These verses deal with things such as mountains and how they are shaped, the front of the head("naseyah") and how it is responsible for decision-making, clouds, the oceans and rivers, embryonic development, and the origin of the universe. The way that the Qur'an explains these issues intrigued me, as the verses were revealed a very long time ago, yet were so accurate, that scientists have proven them to be completely true in recent years. There is even a page with testimonials from scientists who, although they are not Muslim as far as I know, confirm this. I asked myself, how could anyone in the 7th century go into such detail about these topics, let alone a camel driver with no formal education at all? Even the most learned scholars of that time couldn't know these things. The answer? Simple. He got this knowledge from none other than God Himself. As well, on this website you will see how the Bible predicts the coming of Muhammad, in Chapter 3 of the website(by the way, this website is available in book form). I'm sure you know the verses in Deuteronomy Chapter 18 in which Moses is told of a prophet in the future who will be like Moses. Most people believe that the prophet that is mentioned is actually Jesus(peace be upon him. While Muslims do not believe Jesus to be the son of God, we do believe that he was a prophet who was sent with the message of God, and that his followers were the ones who falsely claimed he was the son of God). But this website will explain why we believe Muhammad was the prophet mentioned in Deuteronomy 18. In conclusion, this website, and its contents, were what convinced me that Muhammad(peace be upon him), was a true messenger of God, and that he was not a liar at all, and I believe this will definitely help you in your search for the truth. Sincerely, Ian Hunt AKA Liban -

Good point, Rudy. So many innocent and non-innocent Somali's have been killed over the years, that nobody gives a sh*t anymore, just the same old every day.....but some foreigner who was st*upid enough to go there in the first place, effectively signing his death warrant already, ends up getting shot, and now it's some huge story. I sure as hell don't expect any sympathy for myself if I drive my car off a cliff.....

Never complain about guys buying your dinner, cuz insha Allah when you get old and wrinkly, they won't be around anymore.

This guy must have been crazy to go to Muqdisho, and expect to come out alive. Just because there is some tiny shred of "peace" nowadays, does not mean foreigners can just show up. Probably didn't help that the guy was a kafir, but I'm sure that didn't matter to the gunman....

Calgary is a growing city, and in recent months, Somali restaurants have been popping up out of nowhere, bringing the grand total of Somali businesses in Calgary to a whopping 2 restaurants(one's not even open yet), one macmacaanka, 3 dukaanka hilib xalaal(did I say that right?), numerous Somali-sisters-selling-clothes-and-attar-out-of-their-houses businesses, and........a Somali driving school! LOOOOL This driving instructor(his name is Ismaaciil), must be crazy!! I've seen how some of these gabar Soomaaliyeed drive, and it's not an enjoyable ride by any means. So I can just imagine how it is to teach them how to drive in the first place. I tried to teach my wife how to drive, and she was such a nervous wreck, it took a week for her to learn how to drive around an empty parking lot in the middle of the night, but having been in a bad car accident before, she has a valid excuse, but what about the rest of them? What's their excuse? Please share your driving horror stories here....... P.S. Don't take this topic seriously, it's just jokes....

Y'Know, I've never seen a bag of milk in my life. In Calgary, they come in 4L plastic jugs. This must be an Ontario thing.

Interesting. If there really is a "Juba", then I pray to Allah SWT to help him in his fight against the American soldiers. Say what you want about the Maraykan soldiers, whether you call them "innocent", "just kids who don't know any better", or "being forced into fighting a war they don't want", the fact of the matter is that they are there, and they have brains just like you and me, they can make their own decisions. The decision they made is to join the Army for whatever reason, and fighting in wars is what they do. None of these US soldiers is innocent by any means, and they will face the Judgement of Allah SWT, just like the rest of us.
-
Sadly, the soldiers involved in the My Lai massacre were acquitted, or even pardoned by then president Nixon himself. As will likely happen with these douchebags, but that's why we have Allah SWT, who dispenses true justice in the way that only He can. May Allah make all of those suffering in Iraq martyrs, and may he forgive all Muslims for their sins and give them jannah, Amiin.

Yeah, well, someone on earth needs to enforce Allah's order, right? We don't just all do what we want and then wait for the Judgement Day. If the courts shut down the theaters because of the porn movies, I'm all for it. Doesn't matter if they play soccer games as well. The courts? Don't let the title fool you. It's a bunch of lawless rebels killing each other like the ones before them. I rather not have some crazies tell me what to do. I don't know about you, though. Basically, we have 2 choices.....One group has never claimed to represent anything but their own interests and have proven their position time and time again with the blood of innocents, and the other group which claims to work in the name of Allah SWT and want to restore peace in the land......To me, the choice is a no-brainer. I can understand how people can be skeptical of such a group when they are comprised of quite a few self-admitted former m*oo*ryaans, but people can change, and if they are sincere, then insha Allah they will be forgiven by Allah SWT Himself, so why can't we forgive, as well? After all, forgiveness is something extremely lacking in Somalia these days.
