They will not hit Russian bases or even major bases. They will hit few air bases , go home and call it victory for Trump.

Since the  Wednesday tweet the media was goading Trump if he is just bluffing or not. He put himself a corner so , he have to send few cruises and declare victory. 

The main issue is why rush while the chemical inspection is supposed to reach Syria Saturday.

 

We might not see soon, but America is going to lose it's leadership by keep bombing people with no apparent strategy or even affecting the war in Syria. 

This are the moves of desperate nations, especially the French and the British. For over a year, these nations were trying to bring Trump to their camp, but finally Macron be friended him, got close and Bum, the bombs fly.

If the attacks are  limited to few places, Russia might not do much.

Galbeedi, I don't mind Asad tasting a little of what he likes to dish out, but I am intrigued by Russia's lack of options here. Russia is so powerless when the American bombs start pouring on its client state, but so Machiavellian and powerful against Syrian civilians. It is humiliating for them to be in the middle of an assault like this, specially after threatening some kind of a response.

You right. Putin looks like a sitting duck. Bombs coming and doing nothing.

Definitely the Russian bombers in Douma, Eastern Guetta and other places are horrible. 

I used to support the toppling of Assad but, I realized that the west wasn't serious about that, so we must accept Assad and the end of the conflict which could expand and destabilize Turkey and others.

The news is that general Mattis had won the day against the crazies of Bolton and Pompeo.

The neocons are already crying foul. They wanted more escalation and blood. The liberal democrats are supporting the strike quietly, but large number of the right wing are opposed. Regardless of it's anti immigrant and racist action, the American right is dynamic. 

I do believe that if there is any changes In American foreign policy in the middle east it might come from the right wing section who are becoming anti war.

A week or so ago Trump wanted to withdraw from Syria and tonight he did strike few chemical depots. We all know how these decisions are made.  

Both the British premier and the French guy are in trouble at home and these kind of useless strikes might give them little break.

Putin will eventually win and take over Syria, because he got all the cards including the pee tape of Trump in Moscow.

In 1991, China was a communist bac water trying to build an economy. 27 years of American adventure in the middle east had weakened America and lifted China to overtake America as the largest economy in 2020.

By the way, the Chinese had abstained from voting the security council debate between the west and Russia. 

One more adventure in the middle east and expect the US to become a banana republic with crazy people with guns coupled with dysfunction.

THey could do better than this.

America, Turkey, Iran next countries

Germany, France, Japan, next next countries

Korea, Brazil, Argentina, Indonesia, Philipines..next next next...

 

galbeedi will not like it, but Ethiopia is now 29th overall and 21st without navy in the world, if it continues next 10 years with relative peace and development will be 1st in Africa along with Algeria and maybe 17-19th. Egypt is just pile of junk and millions of soldiers and reserve they cannot use. Nigeria and South Africa are already falling behind.

Your Egypt maybe no.1 in the world for collected junk of tanks, ships etc but so useless. They made transition from eastern equipment to western very bad and now mixing eastern again bad.

 

Britain will take over from America (Australia, Canada and New Zealand supplementing)

Israel is  small overrated country.  In the seventies and early eighties they were able to defeat Arab arms and location with superior air force. No more . Many countries have f-16 and  everyone can build and maintain ground forces. Turkey is more powerful than Israel , so does France who manufacture their own ships and airplanes.

India, Indonesia, Turkey  and Brazil could be the next group..Britain with Brexit will be more isolated. OO, Canada and Australia are allies and part of the British monarchy, but they are independent countries with their own foreign and domestic policy.

It will take some time before America goes second rate.
