It is a part of Muslim belief that Allah Almighty has sent Quran as the final scripture of guidance for humanity and that there will be no book or scripture for guidance of humans and the process of providing instructions and guidance to humans is complete with Islam and Quran.

 

 

Pertaining to the revelation of Quran, a skeptical person might ask the question that why was Quran revealed? What is the importance of it in the life of a person? As if there was not Quran people would still have been living their life. The lines below discuss the importance of Quran in the life of people in general and Muslims in particular.

The first thing about Quran is that it gives the religion to the people, which tells them of the faith they need to follow regarding their Lord and this universe. In Quran, Allah Almighty says:

 

 

“The same religion He has established for you as that which He enjoined on Noah – the which We have sent by inspiration to thee – and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Namely, that you should remain steadfast in religion, and make no division therein: to those who worship other things than Allah, hard is the (way) to which you call them. Allah chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him).” (42:13)

From this ayah of Quran it is clear that Allah Almighty has selected the same faith for Muslims as He did for the previous nations, however, with previous nations there was the element of a new religion arriving with changes in commandments, whereas in Quran it is the final and there will be no instructions after it. Therefore, if anyone is to find guidance in this world at present or in times to come, he or she will be on the way of Islam and Allah Almighty will open the message of Quran to him or her. Therefore, Quran is the final message and a way of life with the help of which one can understand faith and its constituents.

 

Besides telling the followers about the belief and faith components, Quran also performs another pivotal function and that is of telling people about the way of living life and developing an understanding of whatever is present around humans in the world. In Quran, Allah Almighty says:

 

 

“And pursue not that of which you have no knowledge; for every act of hearing, or of seeing or of (feeling in) the heart will be inquired into (on the Day of Reckoning).” (17:36)

 

Form this ayah, the other prominent benefit of Quran in our lives becomes evident and that is that it provides knowledge to people so that they are able to pursue things in the right way. When people don’t have knowledge about anything, the ultimate result is anarchy, tyranny and all sorts of destruction. On the other hand, when there is a visible framework, it leads to progress and prosperity. Therefore, Quran provides a framework upon which a person can live a healthy and prosperous life.

 

In a nutshell, the prime importance of Quran is that it gives a Muslim the faith as a whole and its constituents. Moreover, it also helps people at another level as well and that is when it comes to the code of life, Quran also embodies the best example in this regard as well.

I do not think you could sit and read through the entire book without noticing the (holy) Quran's clear favour of white over black especially in foretelling the happenings of the (always impending) Judgment day. The almighty lord's hue preferences have always been puzzling:

 

 

 

On the Day [some] faces will turn white and [some] faces will turn black. As for those whose faces turn black, [to them it will be said], "Did you disbelieve after your belief? Then taste the punishment for what you used to reject." 3:106

 

 

And on the Day of Resurrection you will see those who lied about Allah [with] their faces blackened. Is there not in Hell a residence for the arrogant? 39:60

 

On the other hand we have:

 

And as for those whose faces have been whitened, in the mercy of Allah they dwell for ever. 3:107

 

Not that this bothers me, but if you are Somali (hence madow) this book seems a little harsh on your skin tone (Im just saying )

Clearly among those with "black" faces in the Day of Judgment will be many African and other black people and many of those with "white" faces will again be African and other black people.

Because the whiter you are, the more righteous you are. Why else do you think so many Somali women use Diana cream?

The colours referred to could might not even be the same dark brown (black) of the Africans or the pale of the Europeans. It could be milky white and charcoal black. The ultimate knowledge is nevertheless with the creator of the colours.
