We shall see but saacid still has some cards if he plays it smart if he goes down i am sure he will take culusow with him or atleast ruin his reputation and his future legacy, saacid know so many dirty secrets of villa Somalia. If he walks out with out a fight he will be remembered as the most docile Prime Minister of Somalia of all times and i dont think he wants to earn that tittle.

Two countries? Do you know the definition of a country? lol

Country:

1. a nation with its own government, occupying a particular territory :

Before Colonialism, there was no central authority that controlled the entire British-Somaliland protectorate or the entire Italian-Somaliland protectorate. European Colonials came, divided up the regions under their respective flags and in June 26th, 1960 the nomadic Somali tribes in the British-Somaliland colony was freed. On July 1st, 1960 the nomadic Somali tribes in the Italian-Somaliland colony were freed and with a unanimous consent, the nomadic Somali tribes united to form a Somali Republic. There never was two countries or governments uniting to form a single government/country under a single flag. Which country of the "two countries" that "united" abandoned their flag/currency? LOL

Saacid should stay. Someone needs to bruise Qoslaaye and clearly establish what the roles and duties of the PM and the Prez is. Stay Saacid and let's waste another year like the Jubbaland mess.

A country called Somaliland, technically exists right now. It can and to my opinion, it will be officially recognized, seeing how things are going in the Somali socio-political spectrum. The question is, will the communities/clans that are against uniting with Somaliland be forced to go under Somaliland by the International Community or will they be given referendum, thus their territory will be recognized as "not part of Somaliland".

The Flag symbolizes the 5 parts of where the Somali speaking people inhabit no one abandoned anything the 5 parts the 5 pointed star. Djibouti , Somali galbeed NFD somaliland and Somalia. When the 2 separated in 1991 one side kept the Somaliweyn flag, well not exactly they also have an Alshabaab flag, but thats besides the point. And the other side adopted a new Flag.Somaliland gained independence like any other country in Africa no difference between Kenya and Somaliland or Tanzania the only difference between Kenya and Somaliland. is that Somaliland united with Somalia and allegedly signed an act of union treaty the legality of this treaty is still questioned by many lawmakers.

STOIC,

If you have been following the news, the president has conceded on Jubbaland issue in Addisababa. It was obvious Saacid was left out in that grand compromise. His hastily arranged visit to Baydhabo was a desperate move on his part to sabotage the Ethiopian deal. So Jubbaland is no longer a conflict for the president to continue --much larger players are in the field . To his credit,Hassan Sheekh rightly saw the writings on the wall.

I only mentioned the Kismayo debacle to signifiy the missed opportunity this PM was presented with to show leadership. For Allah's sake we are talking about a man who thought Barre Hiiraale was a political card that could withstand with the political cyclone that was Jubbaland drivers :D

Add that to the current Puntland vs SFG issue. He is missing in that discussion. Talk about presenting a comprehensive strategy to defeat Alshabaab . Zilch. On Somaliland engagement, he is absent and seems to not care. On Refugee issue. Zero. On constitution and federalism discussion, I dont know where he stands.

Hassan Sheekh has many shortcomings and I have been quite vocal in highlighting them. But we all know what he stands for. He is stands for Mogadishu centeric Somalia --a Somalia that is no wise possible. He is for saving the legacy of the forces that defeated and expelled Barre regime from the capital. A legacy that could only be described as the ugliest form of civil strife. But he leads, talks , travels, and at times articulates why he is doing what he is doing.

We need a new PM to balance Hassan Sheekh's shortcomings , even when the president does not appreciate ...

Xinfanin, one call from Washington can change the entire dynamics of Africa's political stage. Markaa maxaad iska daalin, waynu oognahay who's calling the shots. SL, PL, JL, Iley iyo Xamar are all on a payroll. The Landlord (Reer Galbeedka) will ultimately choose whom he'll give the shift to.
