Abu-Salman Posted March 5, 2013 A catholic metis from modest background, anti-racism and inequalities (oppressed ones are largely black, metis or natives in South America) were his slogans and he brought controversial yet huge change to the masses despite all the obstructions with US complicity as per usual; now, the inequalities and racial divide are still extraordinary high in much of that resources rich continent and the reactionaries or supremacists will no doubt celebrate... Venezuela as a leading oil exporter etc was central to Latin America- Africa cooperation too (another summit just ended in Malabo); despite noted response to Somalia famine by its socialist militants, its global alliances were unholy at times though (support to Syria/Iran axis). A huge blow now for the left and possible game changer in Latin America (not to mention the local poor masses and minorities that finally profited from some of their vast natural resources); big subsidies to Cuba may dry up too (where thousands of poorer countries students are studying medicine there, countless experts sent to Africa etc). PS Pan Latin TV Telesur (Caracas is major shareholder) is airing his realisations: Telesur en vivo. "El mundo lamente la muerta del Chavez". Chavez es no solamente Venezolano, no solamente Latinoamericano...lucha...pueblo..capitalismo (audio) Comrade Raul Castro voy a ser triste, una terrible vez para su mejor amigo? DoctorKenney Posted March 5, 2013 How are you people celebrating the life of Hugo Chavez, when this man instituted many of the same policies of Siad Barre? Stay consistent people. Hugo Chavez was no good. Sure he was a "champion of the poor"....but he violated the human rights of thousands of Venezualans. I don't want to disrespect the dead, but let's not forget reality. DoctorKenney Posted March 5, 2013 You ****** seem to think the world consists of only 2 types of people; Neocons and socialists!! Don't ever slander my name by referring to me as a Neo-Con, simply because I refuse to support Hugo Chavez and his policies You're simple-minded, all of you! Sure, I agree with Hugo Chavez that the United States shouldn't be meddling in other countries affairs all the time. Sure I agree with Hugo when he said that George W Bush was a horrible President. But Hugo Chavez himself was a dictator. He imprisoned his opponents without trial, he restricted freedom of speech. He violated the property rights of his people. He opposed the Free Syria Movement. I could go on and on forever. But you people show your hypocrisy when you speak of supporting Chavez whilst criticizing men such as Siad Barre, who was just as bad

I'm neither a neocon nor a socialist. Im more of an anti-imperialist/anti-neoliberal, anti-communist, socially conservative, economically liberal (in the classical sense), Somali nationalist Muslim. To these people, it comes as a shock that I oppose George W Bush as well as opposing leaders such as Hugo Chavez and Bashar Assad. Alpha and his gang are intellectually incapable of understanding that this world is a complex place. He should stick to watching soccer games and leave political discussions up to others.
